Cynical Romantics - Chapter 7 Never Want To See You Again
Song Sheng walked to his apartment after parting with Qian Meigui, as it was a couple of neighbourhoods away. Song Sheng walked into his living room and was greeted with empty darkness.
His mind felt clouded with thoughts about tonight’s event, so he took a cigarette out of his jacket pocket, and lit it as he approached the balcony. After smoking a few puffs, he was deep in thought. He felt that ripping the bandage off; rather than tell each of them individually would be easier.
Maybe if he disappeared now, he could avoid the disappointment from his family members. He then pinched the space in between his brows with his free hand. He did not expect to see her, and yet he could not refuse her when she suggested they should escape the party.
He felt pathetic. He believed that after being parted from the house for six months that his thoughts about her would change. Yet deep down, he felt something different towards Qian Meigui, something that he can’t explain. Song Sheng extinguished his cigarette and tossed it in the trash before he took out his phone, purchasing a one-way ticket to England.

Song Ren sat in front of her desk at one of the pharmacies she manages. It was her favourite one, though she does not know particularly why. She dismissed the overnight manager, in order for Song Ren to take the night shift.
What made Song Pharmaceuticals a successful company was that their pharmacies were opened day and night and encouraged walk-in’s providing affordable medicine for all patients.
Song Ren was looking over important documents related to the company, as she placed a palm over her head, unable to comprehend the news she received that night. Her palm was also sore; she never hit someone hard before in her life, but she was glad it was her brother, as he would forgive her.
In the past, she always thought her brother would be the next president, and she would be there to support him, not lead. She never thought of herself as a leader. Her troubled thoughts were interrupted when she heard a customer walk in, “helloSu Feng?” she greeted.
Su Feng changed from his eveningwear, and wore something that screamed wealth. He wore a sandy-coloured Brunello jacket over a black cashmere cardigan. He looked as dashing as the day she met him, but that was in physicality, as Song Ren finds him repulsive in every other way.
“Why are you here?” she asked, irritated. She then began to sort bottles of pills on the shelves. Su Feng scoffed a laugh, “I suppose coming to purpose would not suffice as an answer?” Song Ren laughed in ridicule, “And here I thought proposal’s were suppose to be romantic, and yet you haven’t kneeled, nor do I see a ring, and we are in the middle of a pharmacy.”
Su Feng’s expression changed, “If I were to buy you a ring and kneel, and tell you how much I want you and beg for you to be mine, would you accept?” He asked.
Song Ren stopped shelving and turned to him. She felt like trembling but she stopped herself from shaking. “Su Feng, let me make this clear, I will never forgive you for what you did to me. So do me a favour and fuck off.” Su Feng clenched his fist, seemingly hurt. It made her feel disgusted.
“Xiao Ren, you will be mine whether you like it or not, I will make sure of that,” he said. Song Ren gritted her teeth, approaching him close to his ears, “Know that if we wed, I will refuse every duty of a wife, I will make sure that I will never be on your bedside or with you in public. And I will resent you for the rest of my life, lawfully wedded husband,” she said close to him, and then walked behind the counter, “Now please leave, I am still working.”
Angry, Su Feng exited the pharmacy with a loud slam of the door. Song Ren’s eyes felt watery, though she dried them out pretty quickly. She remembered a month ago, she wanted to surprise him at home, when she heard moans coming from his room. She then barged in to find him with not one, but two women. One woman was riding him over his member while the other was riding his face. Song Ren never felt so humiliated in her life, as it was the day after she lost her virginity to him in that very room. Tonight was the first time she had seen him since that day, since they never broke up officially. She just left him a text message saying, “I never want to see you again.”
