Dancing in the Legendary Sea - Chapter 11 Part 2
As soon as she came up on deck, Kay hid behind Orion. He was so tall that it was easy to spy on him as he turned. The young man they had seen earlier came running towards them urgently. He had an extraordinary face and a fair physique, but nothing compared to Orion, who was large and distinct. One peculiarity was that his clothes and belt were as expensive as one could see. Kay was a little surprised to see that he was dressed in all the precious things that the high priest used to wear. The man couldn’t see her. He seemed even more urgent to greet Orion.
“Jorjos, you…”
“Oh, yes, as your best friend and cousin I’m sorry for what happened. Let me apologize first, because it’s going to get more complicated.”
“I don’t want any more complications! The king is going mad because his daughter is injured!”
“Merope is alive?” Orion asked back, momentarily horrified. Lokira was surprised when she saw Jorjos stiffen instantly. She should have told Orion this a long time ago, but she forgot about it after what happened. She tugged at his hem, wanting to let him know quickly that he was not the murderer.
“Yes, she is. Her life has been saved. Orion didn’t kill her, Rox was sure of that…”
“Wait a minute. No, wait?” Only then did Jorjos notice Lokira’s presence. She jumped in shock, then tried to hide again but it was already too late. Jørjos leaned towards her and made eye contact. Lokira squirmed and looked up at him. The next moment, Jorjos’s mouth gaped open and he fell back with incredible speed. The maid thought he was going to fall and tried to support him. When Lokira, startled by his violent reaction, shrank back, Orion sighed again and grabbed around her back. Jorjos, seeing this, looked completely convinced. He pointed at Orion and said.
“You, you, you disappeared and turned the country upside down, and in the meantime, did you get into trouble with a beauty? You’ve been talking about all the craziness I’ve been bringing you, you punk!”
“Not in a thousand years! This person is…..,”shouted Orion, and for a while he worried about what to say. Then, he opened his eyes and said.
“She is Roxias’s sister. I stopped by Delos on the way here.”
He was not lying, but he deliberately left out the most shocking part. However, it was enough to explain the complexity of the issue.
As soon as Jorjos heard the story, he was puzzled. All the servants looked at Orion with surprised eyes. Then Jorjos asked the usual questions.
“Roxias….. the mediator of the alliance? The incarnation of Apollo?”
“Yes, that’s what’s going to get complicated. It’s hard to sum up now. I’m going down to the bar.”
Lokira, who was listening to the conversation, anxiously pressed down on her cloak. Here, too, she was in a position where her identity depended on the eyes and dialogue of others. The curiosity of the outside world, which she had enjoyed for some time, disappeared for a moment, and the fear that living in reality would not be easy has revived. At that moment, a large palm covered the top of her head. Orion said, shielding her, as if to reassure her.
“If we stay on the boat any longer, Jorjos will run out of steam. Let him rest.”
Jorjos nodded his head, then as if to show his kingly dignity, he spoke with great courtesy.
“Alright. Inhabitants of the sanctuary, welcome aboard to the ship of Atlantis in the name of King Jorjos. She is the sister of the incarnation of light, ah…..”
Suddenly his dignity evaporated. Lokira was quick to help him out of his trouble.
“It’s Lokira.”
“Lokira, I shall make sure that you are welcomed as a valued guest of the country.”
Then he began to take the lead like any other young man.
“Well, let’s go down. I’ve asked King Naxos to find us a place to stay. Because it’s still a long way.”
Lokira was handed over to Orion and stepped fearfully down onto the pier. The land was firm and unyielding. She had been on the boat all day, so her feet felt rather awkward. But what was really awkward was her position. She had only been out of her small room for a day and was a gentile who had no idea what Atlantis was like. Suddenly she couldn’t adapt to the idea of mixing with the people here. Then, she clutched the hem of her clothes thinking that she should not be separated from Orion. Then Orion said, holding on to her shoulders.
“It’s all right. Jorjos is a bit pushy, but he’s harmless. He had a rough idea of what was going on. It’s not unusual for the inhabitants of a sanctuary to be out in the open, unknown to the world.”
“But if other people know about my horns…”
“People in Atlantis aren’t that surprised,” Orion assured her nonchalantly. Lokira became doubtful whether he had any proof for saying this. At that moment Orion looked down at her with a serious expression on his face.
“That one over there, Jorjos, is in a similar situation.”
“Similar?”
“I said that some people are born with tails. Well, that’s him. I cut it off when he was seven.”
“Orion! Don’t waste your time talking about useless things!”
Jorjos, who was ahead, shouted at them after hearing their conversation as if he understood her story.
