Dancing in the Legendary Sea - Chapter 8 Part 1
(*T/L: Lokira has 2 nicknames ‘Kay’ and “Kira”. I will use her nicknames more from now on.*)

Around dawn, Kay was out in the backyard. Maybe Orion’s boat would leave at that time. With the hope that she could see it in the distance, her gaze was fixed at the sea. If she saw it, she would wave in her heart. The days he stayed in Delos were an enduring experience in her life. She would probably never forget them until she died. Her gaze turned to the horizon, but it wasn’t clear whether the boat had really sailed. The sea was calm today. Even when she looked at the shore, the boat was not in sight. It must be because his cover was good.
Eventually, she became sullen when she found nothing. She brushed her knees and stood up. At that time, the watchman who was monitoring her opened the door and knelt down, as if he had noticed something.
“Welcome Roxias. Master of Sanctuary Delos. The lord of Mount Kintos.”
Unlike when he was dealing with Lokira, his formal greeting was respectful. She glanced at the bottom of the cliff and looked back.
“Is Rox here?”
“Huh, Kira. I’m here.”
Roxias smiled as he came through to her narrow room. Roxas’s blonde hair dazzled under the afternoon sun. His head was topped with a Red Sea olivine carved into the shape of a laurel tree. The White chiffon covered down to his ankles, and the green-colored himation* was elegantly pleated. (*himation – Greek toga)
There were several attendants behind him. They all bowed their heads and knelt. Roxias looked down at them naturally as if he was dealing with air.
“Go back. I want to talk to Kira.”
Then everyone stepped back silently. The only passageway connected to the backyard was also closed. Kay was in a good mood. Unlike herself, who was a God and a monster, she realized that such treatment was natural to Roxias. In every way, he was much better than her…. Still, she was thankful that he deliberately came to see her lonely self. Kay smiled.
“What are you doing here today? It must have been hard to get here. Did your attendants bother you again?”
Roxias laughed.
“They are always annoying. It’s not easy to imitate God.”
Then, he approached without hesitation and took Kay’s hand.
“How have you been? I heard the meal didn‘t suit your taste. But it’s winter, you have to eat well.”
Kay’s blushed, recalling the trick she pulled the previous day. She shook her head because she was embarrassed for making Rox worry.
“No. Sometimes there are days like that…. Did the high priest tell you that?”
“There’s nothing on this island that I don’t know.”
Roxias laughed unaffectedly. His words sounded like they meant something, Kay felt like her chest was poked. She tried to pull her hand out of Roxias’s grip, he pulled it toward him and looked at the red marks on her skin.
“This…. You got punished again. He could just speak and you would understand, but he always uses violence.”
“It’s okay. It doesn’t hurt when I use the wrappers.”
“It would be nice if my power could heal sickness and wounds. Kira, please don’t do anything to get punished. It makes me sad to see you hurt.”
Roxias grabbed her hand and took it to his cheek. As his eyelids closed, his golden lashes fluttered down beautifully.
“l am comforting you. I hate it when something bad happens to my sister.”
At this time, even though Roxias was tall, she felt that he was still a boy. Suddenly, Kay saw Orion over his face. As she was watching him, her mood darkened. This boy was the only one she could rely on in the sanctuary, and when she’s well, Roxias will be at ease as well. But she couldn’t help it. She had to lie to help the man. Kay was mortified by her thoughts. She was puzzled by her own stubbornness. In the past, she would have reflected on herself and felt bad about breaking the rules. Now however, what Roxias said didn’t resonate very much. She had been breaking rules these days, and her beastly nature became bolder. Kay hugged her brother tightly trying to quell her palpitating heart.
“Don’t mind me and do your job. Rox, you have a lot of responsibilities unlike me.”
“Okay.”
“Did you come here on purpose to check on me because I skipped meals?”
She asked as if there were any worries that Rox couldn’t say to his subordinates. Roxias straightened his back without answering. Then he spoke.
“Oh, yes. As soon as I saw you, I forgot what I wanted to say.”
“Huh, what is it?”
“I will be leaving Delos for the time being. I want to go to Chios.”
The familiar name of a place suddenly popped out of his mouth, and Kay hardened a little. But her lies also increased considerably. She maintained her composure with the conviction that she should not act suspiciously.
“Chios is north of here. Why do you have to go there?”
“It looks like the princess there fell from a high window and was injured.”
“Is she hurt? She is not dead?”
“Huh?” Roxias’s silver eyes sparkled. Kay was shocked at her obvious questions. So she inadvertently asked back, settling the confusion.
“Well, if you fall from a high place, you usually die…..”
“Alas. Luckily, her life was saved because a tree broke her fall. She would like me to come and mediate the case.”
Roxias’s expression of confusion subsided. At that point, Kay had some ideas why they would call Roxias to Chios. He was not a doctor and has no healing power. There was only one reason they deliberately called him out of the sanctuary.
“I’m sure they will create a problem at the alliance meeting. King Chios intends to present himself as the victim, especially to me as the mediator, and then take his leave. It’s the Atlantis royal family’s fault for pushing him and the Princess to do this.”
Kay took in a bigger breath than before when she heard the word ‘royal’. Orion was from a royal family? Looking back, she had never thought about Orion’s status. In her world, there were only two identities, the sanctuary and the outsider. The sanctuary with Roxias at the top and herself at the bottom, and the rest were just there. And the first impression she had of the man in the outer sea was strong. She had a vague guess. He was probably a free man who could go anywhere. He didn’t seem to belong to anyone. But, no way was he royalty. Didn’t the man self-profess he was an orphan with no fundamental knowledge? Kay got confused. Roxias, who did not know the man, frowned as if he saw a troublesome future ahead.
“Anyway, he is in trouble. He tried to take away the virginity of the royal Princess, and now he’s hiding himself, and his whereabouts are unknown. Chios is borrowing my power to find out where the bastard is.”
