Danger Zone - Chapter 244
“How come you didn’t say anything? Was I supposed to find out on my own?”
Mischka glared at the Alpha, who was frustrated that the Omega found out about his plan of moving out and away from him because of an important meeting for the tavern.
“You know how important this is. I can’t abandon it.”
The tension and the frustration slowly rising through his voice and it was evident by the way he glared at the Omega. He never want the latter to know because he knew that he will not like it.
“Of course I understand the importance.”
Mischka sighed, willing himself to calm down. He knows that this meeting is important for the Alpha.
He understands that.
Daime has been selected by the music department to travel to the US for a conference. It was an event that the Alpha has been talking about for months, hoping to be selected. But, Daime was going to be away from four to six weeks, which will be the longest they’ll be away from each other.
Mischka don’t feel confident that he will be okay.
He felt like his Omega was going to think that the Alpha abandoned him and sent him into a pseudo heat. Which was the last thing Mischka wanted.
“Then if you understand, you shouldn’t be upset.”
Daime dared to glare one more time. He couldn’t control his anger anymore. He didn’t have time to talk about this since he was running late with already. Francis had been calling for the past 10 minutes and he was still here, arguing with his Omega.
“I’m not upset!”
The Omega gritted his teeth, showing his fangs to the Alpha, who clearly not happy with what was happening right now.
“Yes, you are. You know that I have been waiting for this opportunity for such a long time!”
This was the first time Daime had raised his voice to the Omega. Mischka was quite shock to hear it as well. Slowly, the Omega tried to release calming pheromones to calm him down but it looked like, it wasn’t working.
“I am sorry, Alpha. I know that you want it. It’s just… I feel like you will going to abandon me at some point.”
Daime clicked his tongue and released a heavy sigh. He tried to calm himself down but the frustration kept blocking him.
Out of nowhere, he said something that he will regret later. And will serve as a lesson to the once, calmed Alpha.
“Well, if you weren’t being so bitchy today, maybe it wouldn’t be a major problem.”
Mischka widened his eyes at the statement. The Alpha soon realized what he said and covered his mouth with his hand, surprised at what he just said too.
The air between them was filled with a tense silence. Not knowing what to do, the Alpha tried to talk to him but the Omega only looked up from the ground, hurt was evident in his eyes.
The Alpha was whimpering with regret and he felt terrible but his pride won’t break at this point. Lastly, while it was still a bit calm, the Omega sighed and turned his back to the Alpha.
“Leave. Francis had been calling you non-stop for hours. Go to the meeting already.”
The Alpha’s mind stopped as his throat dried up. He never meant what he said and he didn’t knew why he even said those words. But the Omega was right, he should leave now before the matter come worst.
“Let’s talk about this later again, sweet heart. I love you.”
Silence.
The Alpha was only met with silence, making his heart broken and sighing heavily. He grabbed his bag and went on his way. Mischka turned around and stared at the Alpha’s frame leave, fat tears pricking at his eyes.
When the alpha was finally gone, he let his tears fall.
Daime’s right. He shouldn’t try to be so attached to the Alpha. It would just make him a burden.
But it hurt.
Mischka wouldn’t be lying if he didn’t say that it hurt. He shouldn’t be crying over something so small. It was just a small comment. The Alpha didn’t mean it.
The Alpha’s just upset and confused. He knew that his Alpha would never say something like that.
“But why did it hurt?”
The frustrated Omega wiped his tears when he noticed something lying on the counter. It was Daime’s coat. He must’ve forgotten it. Again. The Omega reached for the coat, burying his face in the soft fabric.
His smell was so comforting. Mischka closed his eyes as more tears fell, wetting the coat.
The Omega pulled away from the coat, his face red and blotchy from crying. His Omega’s calmed down a bit from the argument.
Maybe it’d be better to calm down first before his emotions get the best of him. He walked to his room, gathering blankets and stray plushies left behind with his Alpha’s coat in his hand.
There’s only one thing he knew that could calm him down without the help of his Alpha’s pheromones. He needed to make another nest.
But with what material? He only had the plushies and some couple blankets. Other than them, he had nothing. The Omega sat at the edge of the bed and sighed, quietly.
Today was a very stressful day. He had a major client problem back at his office and the bitch that his ex cheated to him with had been bothering him for these past few days.
Asking, how much Mischka paid for the Alpha to mate with him. Getting to his nerves, he answered the bitchy Omega with the most savage way he could think of.
After that, finally, the woman stopped from bothering and pestering him with useless questions. Then when he came back to his office table, Marlene had been asking him what names he will call his child.
He even snapped at his friend at some point at how pissed he was. He eventually apologized and it was a good thing that Marlene understood and forgave immediately or he would thing about it for days.
Now, when he came back home, hoping to distress with his Alpha, he found out something that the Alpha had been hiding him for days. The Omega sighed as he looked down to the coat that the Alpha left.
Perfect.
Now he knew what materials he would use for this nest and no one was there in the apartment to complain.
