Danger Zone - Chapter 264
The first time he feels Braxton hicks contractions, he had curls up in a ball and cries for an hour because they hurt so bad. This is not that intense, so no red flags come up.
Another half hour and they are still happening, finally setting up some red flags for Aiden. They are constant and are getting worse, and he finally decides that yes, he is in labor.
“Oh no. Oh no. Oh no. Where are these fucking Alphas when you need them the most?!”
Panic is evident on his face. It is like that is the final straw as Aiden physically feels his waters break.
It is like a dam had been knocks down as his pants suddenly feels heavier and much more wetter than they are. Nigel, who manages to stand up on his own, watches as Aiden’s facial expression drops and watches as the older boy’s light gray yoga pants grows darker as they soak up the fluid.
“Oh no, darling. You are early. Let me grab the phone real quick so we can call your Alpha already. Just a moment.”
“No. I will do it. Sit down.”
He also can’t exactly tell the elder Omega to go do stuff for him when he is twice as pregnant as he is, it just won’t be fair and don’t make sense. He needs to clean up the food mess they had made and he needs to change out of his ruined clothes. Luckily they had hardwood floors so there is nowhere for the waters to soak into, making it an easy mess to clean up.
Not caring what the shorter male told him not to do, Nigel starts grabbing the bags of food from the couch and heads towards the kitchen to put everything back. Aiden lets him do whatever and heads to his room to change out of his wet pants and puts on a new pair.
“Alpha!”
Aiden almost yelled into the smartphone when his husband answered, panic is evident in his voice. He doesn’t mean for so much panic and volume to come out, but it do and it is too late to fix his mistake. Both are going to be panicked and afraid soon anyway.
Drax immediately picks up on the panic and asks what is wrong, knowing it is about the baby. Aiden is pretty good alone and if something are to happen suddenly, he can take care of it on his own and will not call Drax, as much as to the Alpha’s dismay.
So when Drax gets a call from his very pregnant Omega, he knows it is because of the baby. He never gets a call while at the office, and the only other time he has gotten a call is when Aiden is feeling Braxton hicks for the first time, thinking he is in actual labor already.
“Water broke. Hospital now. Hu—argh!”
It takes him by surprise and Aiden has to lean forward and grabs a hold of the TV stand to balance him out. It is absolutely terrible! It feels like his whole body is tightening and then expanding at the same time, his insides feeling like they are being torn apart.
“Hurry, Alpha! Please!”
He feels the baby move along with his contractions and it surprises him since the baby hasn’t really been moving a lot recently. His breath hitches, leaving him with a lack of oxygen as his body panics, yet tries to stay calm.
He grips the edge of the TV stand in hopes of relieving some of the pressure, it doesn’t, but it helps him get some of the frustration in his body out.
Maybe this is why pregnant mothers in labor holds their husband’s hands when pushing. Aiden is far from pushing, but he also doesn’t know that for sure. He doesn’t know what to think or do at this time. He is indefinitely terrified of what is going to happen next.
“I already called Primo. He will be coming here soon!”
He trails off as he realizes that Aiden is still, his eyes squeeze shut and his teeth born in a grimace as he rocks through a contraction. Nigel could hear Drax yelling for Aiden on his phone, so he picks it up and answers instead.
“Stop yelling and panicking! Get in here!”
Despite the fact that Nigel is also new to this, one thing that his mother told him is not to panic.
The blond Omega hangs the phone up and throws it to the side. He places both hands on Aiden’s shoulders, rubbing them and massaging them in hopes that it is helping.
Nigel has been having Braxton hicks for a while since the probability of him delivering early is high due to his carrying twins.
Every time a contraction takes over, Primo will usually massage his shoulders and it helps loads, so Nigel is hoping that it will help Aiden as much as it did him.
It did because it relieves pressure from his body, not the most concentrated area, but it still helps incredibly.
Aiden’s contraction ends and he gasps for breath, having held his breath the whole time he goes through the contraction. His hands immediately goes to his belly to cradle it as he feels the baby inside move around.
The brown haired Omega plops down and pants as his body is still suffering through the recovery of that contraction.
Aiden grabs the blanket next to him and covers himself, wanting nothing but to curl up in a ball and sleeps away the aching in his body.
“That last contraction lasted for about fifteen seconds. Let me time the next one.”
“Fifteen? It felt like hours.”
Nigel pulls out his phone and most likely starts a timer, but that’s not what Aiden is focusing on. He is more interested in the fact that the hell that is a contraction he goes through only lasts a short fifteen seconds and not minutes or even hours like he thinks they are.
Nigel also reminds him when he repeats his thoughts, saying how it is going to get worse. Aiden can feel the dread build up inside of him, waiting for the moment it will get worse is going to kill him. Not really, but man is it painful.
Drax is there when Aiden had another contraction. He had gone home a minute earlier before the contraction starts and is now helping his mate and trying not to panic too much.
He feels that familiar tightening in his abdomen and he is rendered speechless. He grips onto his Alpha’s hand and goes through the motions, eyes staring in one spot on the floor where the wood is darker than the rest.
He hates that part of the floor and always had, but there isn’t much he can do about it. Drax is as panicked as Aiden and is telling his husband to breathe, which helps since Aiden tends to hold his breath. But once he starts breathing, he feels like he is hyperventilating.
Drax had placed a hand on Aiden’s chest and this helps calm him down and regulates his breathing.
“I think we should go now. Where is Primo?”
As soon as he asked that, a pounding comes from the door, revealing a gasping Alpha who runs over since being stuck in traffic is not a good sign.
“Present! We should go now! Where is your hospital bag?”
Drax helps Aiden off of the couch, starting to lead him to the door.
“Fuck that stupid bag! I am having a baby!”
Then they are off.
They force Primo and Nigel out without much bargaining and it is the fastest either Aiden or Drax sees Nigel moves, let alone moves while pregnant.
Even Primo is surprised but follows him obediently.
The door is locked behind them and the couple yells their good lucks and congratulations as Drax and Aiden drives off.
They are having a baby.
