Danger Zone - Chapter 271
***Six years later***
“Perceval! Ishmael! What the hell are you kids doing to your sisters?! Do you both wants to die?!”
Two sweet, jester little boys squeak when they heard the familiar sound of both of their mothers yelling at them. It is a fine Sunday morning and they are having their daily visits with their friends when one of them “accidentally” made their sisters cry.
Now, both of the boys are hiding behind their fathers, who are not having it and end up leaving the two for scolding.
“Stay right there and apologize to Luna and Precious!”
Ishmael, the tallest of the two—being the son of both Drax and Aiden—stands tough in front of his much younger cousin and faces his raging mother. He looks at his mother with determination in his eyes and inhales toughly.
Aiden stops abruptly from his tracks and stares at his young boy. He looks like he is about to pounce at him if the Omega did not stop running towards them.
The brown haired male looks at his Alpha with wide eyes as Drax sighs and tries to talk the child’s way out before Aiden regrets giving birth to this prankster.
“Seb, will you calm down for a moment and talk to me about what happened? Papa will listen.”
The young Edinburgh scoffs after what he heard from his father. It is true that sometimes both of his parents listen to him but most of the time, his mother only cares of his younger sister.
As if he never supposed to exist, at all. And unfortunately, Aiden doesn’t know that. Since the young boy never speaks of it at a given moment.
“Listen? Bullshit. You guys never lis—”
Drax tries to stop Aiden but it is too late. The Omega’s hand had already landed on the boy’s face, causing it to redden and making the young man madder than he already is.
Aiden is shock as well. He never meant to do it but that just it. There is no turning back now. He had done it. He hurts his kid even after saying that he won’t do it.
The Omega tries to crouch down and says his apology to his young boy but the black haired child looks at him, dead in the eyes.
“I should’ve known, Father. You could’ve just told me.”
Aiden doesn’t know what he is talking about but the pain in his eyes say it all. The Omega fucked up and he doesn’t know how to turn it back again.
The young boy turns around and walks away from them. Drax can see how he wipes his tears away by his sleeves and slams the door of his room. Aiden sighs as he stands up and smiles at Perceval, who is looking at his older cousin with a sad smile.
He faces Drax while he comforts his Omega and sighs.
“Is big bro supposed to be born or not? You guys should’ve just aborted him.”
Nigel is shocked by what his little boy had just said. Primo taps his mouth before he could say things that are more hurtful than the words from earlier.
“Perce! You should not say that!”
Aiden is now shaking by what the boy just said. He doesn’t know what to do anymore and is already questioning whether he is a good parent or not. Or whether he is being fair with his kids or not?
“But why?! It’s true, Papa! They never listen to him! They only listen to big sister Luna! Don’t you know how many times Big bro cried because of it?! Well, of course, you guys won’t know. You guys are not looking at him.
He even once told me that he should’ve not existed and he bets that his parents will be happier if that happened.
Papa, how can I help big bro not to exist? We are searching the internet one time, and it says suicide.
Papa, what is suicide?”
Primo’s eyes widen in surprise as he and Drax immediately races towards Ishmael’s room to see what he is doing. They jam the door open since it is locked and sees that the boy is looking at them with dead eyes.
“You could’ve just knocked.”
The two Alphas stop on their tracks and stares at the young man in front of them. Drax walks towards his little boy and grabs his arm to check his sleeves. The young man reacts with drawing his hand away from his father and asks.
“The heck are you doing?!”
Primo stops his cousin before doing something to his child and asks the young boy politely to remove his jacket to check his arms. The young boy drags his brows at the center of his eyes before complying to his Uncle’s request.
Slowly, Ishmael strips his jacket off before showing his arms to his Father and Uncle. He even turns towards the door and faces those arms to his mother before scoffing.
“I am not gonna take suicide. I am not that crazy.”
A few sighs of relief surround his room as he wears his jacket again. The pain from Drax’s eyes immediately fades in all the boy’s dismay. Maybe if he did hurts himself, will his parents love him more?
He doesn’t know the answer to that.
***Seven years later***
“Excuse me. Is Ishmael here?”
The lady who is wearing a blue dress looks at the Alpha in front of her. His eyes are filled with worry while his smile tries to be happy. He looks disarray and anxious about his child, in which, she won’t be happy as well after hearing about it.
“He is at the principal’s office. Right on that corner.”
The Alpha nods his head and grabs his other child towards her brother’s location. Drax is at home, playing with his daughter when he receives a horrifying phone call about his son.
He immediately contacts his mate, Primo and Nigel to meet him to where Ishmael studies as he tries to calmly explains to his mate what is happening.
Aiden is not happy, to say the least.
“Ishmael?!”
The principal—dressed in black suit and navy blue pants—stands up upon seeing Mr. Edinburgh. Drax is wearing a brown coat with a large scarf on the middle while carrying his little girl on his other arm.
“Where is my boy?”
The principal tries to calm him down as he contacts the nurse to bring Ishmael outside his office while he talks to his parent inside.
“Calm down, Sir. We need to talk first about his condition before we let you see him.”
The Alpha nods and contacts his mate, who is also running like madman in the streets to see his young boy and his condition. A few minutes later, he knocks on the door of the office and states his name.
The principal lets him enter before discussing what Ishmael did and why is he at the nurse’s office.
“So, is your son a bit suicidal?”
Upon hearing that term, Aiden’s heart suddenly jumps out of his chest and grips onto the Alpha’s arms as he tries to stop his tears from falling.
“No. Not that we are aware of.”
The principal nods his head in understanding. He observes the couple for awhile and takes some notes that the both of them looks presentable and the child that they are carrying looks nothing alike the young boy outside.
He always takes a mental note to talk to a psychiatrist about these findings and asks of what he could do to help Ishmael at any way possible.
He, himself, also has a very fine young boy—the same age as Ishmael—and they are both young and smart and has a bright future ahead of them. Seeing how much these two not care of their young boy breaks his heart.
But there is nothing he can do but gives them a saddening smile before asking the nurse to let the boy in. Frail and fragile as he enters the office, Ishmael looks nothing alike like his twin sister, who looks full and healthy.
While him, he looks like a malnourished adopted child of the family. He looks like he is about to fall down the floor at any time. Aiden gasps at the sight of his son, and cries in response.
Seeing the boy now, Drax finally realizes what Perceval meant seven years ago. Probably, seven years ago, his young boy had never thought of doing it. But that doesn’t mean, seven years from now, he will not do it.
It breaks his heart seeing his boy like this. He looks like Aiden when the Omega was bonded with Primo before. He looks like he is about to die any given minute. The Alpha stands tall and walks towards his young boy but the child flinches back and clings to the nurse.
Seeing his reaction, Aiden’s heart falls into million of pieces. What he had done to make out such an expression from his boy? Luna, on the other hand, is looking at her brother with wonder of what will happen to him now.
“It’s okay, child. They are your parents. They will not hurt you.”
Ishmael looks at them with fear in his eyes and shakes his head. Whispering hurtful words towards the nurse, making her lips tight and unable to speak up.
After many times of convincing, in the end, the child finally accepts his fate and goes towards his parents. He sits at the far back corner of the car and every time Aiden asks him of what he wants to eat as a compensation, no answer comes back to him.
Drax stops the car at their gates and looks at the center mirror to see his son looking straight at him dead in the eyes again. The stare that he did every single time his mother would scold him for something he did not do.
It brings shivers up to Drax’s spine and will break a cold sweat after looking back at it. The family enters their house that was once to be called a home as the loom dark days has finally descends on Ishmael’s mind.
At that night, Luna screams in horror as she sees his brother’s body, hanging on the top of his ceiling with a small letter beneath him that says;
“Farewell, world. Thank you for being my peace. I shall leave you now.”
