Dark Assassin Chronicles - Chapter 10 Introductions
“I wonder how far I will have to travel now to reach that village?” pondering over the fact that he completely forgot about a map to show the whole region, Tommy felt powerless and wanted to go back to the city and to just sleep in his comfortable bed.
However, at the same time he realized that if he gave up now, that he would be unable to even look at himself in the mirror. This adventure he was partaking in, was to convince the clan that he held enough value for them to keep him around.
Tommy was still unsure how long this adventure would be, but he knew that if he could improve his cultivation rank enough, that the clan would have no choice but to keep him around. Right now his level was so obsolete, that it made no sense for the clan to even house him.
But, if he was able to at least reach the fifth rank of the Apprentice level of cultivation, his clan would have little to no choice but to reward him with training resources and a free place to stay. The reason for this, was because although the Apprentice level was the first level of power for a cultivator, the fifth rank was difficult for the average commoner who cultivated to achieve.
With that being said, the Sacred Flame clan would have no choice but to accept Tommy as a full fledged cultivator of the clan. Though they would not be showering him with gifts like the Patriarch has up until now, there would at least be a place for Tommy to be surrounded by his clansmen.
“So what is your name young cultivator?” after several minutes of traveling through the forest, Tommy finally ran into a shadowy figure who was peaking its head out behind a tree in a childish manner.
Turning towards the shadowy figure and realizing that he was unable to sense it before it spoke to him, Tommy pulled out his sword and immediately went into a defensive stance to help shield himself from a possible attack.
“Do not worry little one, it is truly fate that brought us here on this night together. Are you from that big city over there?” pointing a finger towards the direction of the city, Tommy was not sure how to react before nodding his head.
Tommy may have been able to protect himself from normal animals who threatened him, but against a cultivator, it was very clear that he would not be able to survive against any opponent who had ill intentions towards him.
“Very good, very good. Since that is the case, why do I only feel a weak aura coming from your body?” the shadowy figure asked Tommy as it hopped behind another tree, clearly making its way closer to Tommy’s location.
Shaking his head and coming back to his senses, Tommy started to become enraged before yelling at the shadowy figure to halt its advancement towards him. “If you come any closer, do not blame this young master for not showing you any mercy with my sword!”
Seeing that it had created a situation which was starting to get out of its control, the shadowy figure paused its advancement to hopefully make Tommy feel a little better. Once it had done this, the shadowy figure started to come up with an idea before taunting Tommy once more.
