Dark King: Revenge Is Painful - Chapter 24 Zombie Lord
Back on planet Rumina, in a forbidden zone located outside the five kingdoms, a female and her spirit, both cloaked with high quality black cloth were fighting against a small horde of zombies.
Zombies belonged to undead monsters category and dealing with them could be a pain as physical attacks usually had no effect on them.
As for the reason these two were here…..
A month ago, Hei Nu Wang’s newly contracted spirit had informed her about her brother’s whereabouts and also conveniently mentioned the path that would let her reach him.
With how much she loved her brother, how could Hei Nu Wang stand back and wait for his return when she could reach him on her own?!
So she prepared herself to a long journey and came to these desolate lands, fought monsters, slept outside, cooked her own food, washed her own clothes, and faced all kinds of hardships to discover the gate that would lead to the spirit world that her spirit had mentioned.
Today was no different from the other days.
Hei Nu Wang wielded her black sword like a war goddess and swung it in a perfect arc which accurately cut the three level 1 zombies that were surrounding her.
Normally, this kind of attack should have be able to kill anyone that received it this directly, but the three zombies did not seem to give Hei Nu Wang any face as they stood up to face her a second time
Their dirty bodies healed, no, restored rapidly and the beautiful cut across their chests disappeared without a trace leaving them very satisfied.
Also, feeling the ineffectiveness of the human’s attack, the dumb zombies grinned evilly as if mocking Hei Nu Wang, and they charged forward blindly.
“Tch! Kill them Dark King!” Hei Nu Wang once again executed her perfect swordsmanship and jumped back to maintain a safe distance from these disgusting monsters.
“My lady, hold them back for 30 more minutes! You know how damaged I am right! It will take me another half an hour to conjure the most basic of my spirit attack!” Her spirit, the self proclaimed Dark King was hovering directly above her head. His face was covered with sweat, and his hands were outstretched, and he looked like he was trying his hardest to summon something from inside his body.
Hei Nu Wang pouted, dissatisfaction evident on her face. But she did not complain and kept the zombies occupied for another thirty minutes.
The Dark King finally managed to conjure a thumb sized blue coloured ball out of his outstretched hands. Conjuring this small ball left him extremely tired, but his mouth was curved up into a smile.
“I did it!” He shouted weakly and controlled the thumb sized ball of blue light to attack the zombies.
The 3 dumb zombies who had pestered Hei Nu Wang for the past half an hour, unafraid of her sword, shivered uncontrollably as the blue light targeted them.
They immediately lost their interest towards the delicious looking human in front of them and turned around and fled. Too bad, the blue light was faster and had already passed through their bodies.
Under the complicated eyes of Hei Nu Wang, the monsters that she was unable to deal for the past few days, crumbled into dust and dispersed into air.
Seeing her complicated expression, her spirit, the Dark King hovered beside her.
“Young lady, this is not something that you need to feel conflicted about? In fact, you could have easily slain these zombies even without my help, but your equipment is bit lacking. I had warned you for a long time before coming here, but you seemed to not believe my words.”
“As I mentioned before, a lower generation life-form could never truly damage a higher generation life-form. For example, take me, a Spirit! Even though I am currently at my weakest state, you still can’t damage me! This is a kind of Right that is owned by higher generation lifeforms.”
“Even though, a zombie is not necessarily a higher generation life-form than the humans, it could still be counted as a boundary life-form between spirits and humans, which gave it the ability to negate all physical attacks.”
Dark King observed his master’s reaction silently.
His master’s expression had changed from confusion to understanding in a minute and she nodded as if she understood his words.
“Then, What do you mean by I lack the proper equipment?” At this moment, Hei Nu Wang genuinely wanted to know the answer to her question.
She had ignored Dark King’s repeated pestering to change her equipment before as she had felt that there was nothing on this planet that could posses any danger to her, but now, she felt that she should at least listen to him.
“When I said that a lower generation life-form could not hurt a higher generation life-form, I was speaking the truth. But, if a lower generation life-form could wield a weapon of Higher level, then with the help of the said Weapon, it is still possible to fight against higher generations.”
“But, a higher level weapon is still a higher level weapon! It is made for the higher generation and its total might could only be exhibited when the weapon was on the same level as its master. A lower generation oils be considered lucky if he could activate 10% of the higher level weapons.”
“In this case, if you switched your equipment to the spirit grade, even though you can’t utilise it’s total strength, killing the zombies should posses a problem.”
Hei Nu Wang nodded understandingly. She did not want to give up on searching for her brother, but she was forced to go back. After all, without proper equipment, even level 1 zombies could threaten her if they came in hundreds.
Moreover, her spirit eyes had already located the gate to the spirit world which was far away from their current location . The only problem was the zombie that was guarding the gate seemed very strong.
