Darling, Don’t Run Away! - Chapter 292
New York,
It’s still a little early, but Luna decides to get dressed in the black dress and black hat that Rose put on a bed. She knows Raymond didn’t return home last night as the bedsheet on his side didn’t crumple.
Today is Sarah’s funeral day, and it seems like a dream to her. Just a few months after she decided to return, everything seems moving too fast. If she knows Raymond will be standing at her ground, she should just return earlier.
That way, she can get her revenge in a better way. She didn’t think that Sarah will act like that day. The incident that happened to Sarah had an impact on her life too. Even though Raymond never blamed her what happened to his ex-girlfriend, but the guilty feeling still resides deep in her heart.
After Luna’s done wearing the dress and put on the hat, she walks out of the bedroom and saw that Rose and Dania are waiting for her. It seems like Dania just arrived this morning from her mission.
She also knew what happens to Barbara. Never she thought that her ending was so cruel like that. And on top of that, to be killed by her own husband…just how sad it is.
The man who she spent most of her years and love finally turn his back on her and coldly kill her most excruciatingly. It must be a stress for her husband to accept all of this in one night.
Yes, just in one night, Raymond sent her sister to prison and lost his mother. The next target would probably be her. She is already aware of her situation. She arranges Rose to tighten the security around her with the best man guarding her silently and openly.
“Morning, Luna.” Dania greet Luna as soon she saw Luna looks a bit gloomy than usual.
“Morning, Dania. Have you retrieved the evidence from James’ mansion?” Luna asked as she concern about Raymond, who probably can’t handle it right now.
“It’s has been taken care of. Raymond decides to pool all the evidence together before they start hunting down Mr. James. For right now, Mr. James went on hiding mode again. I sent a rescue team, but they only found the body while there’s no one there anymore.” Dania reporting the situation after getting a new order from Raymond last night. It is to make sure Luna is safe and protect her from a larger scale than before.
“Pool all the evidence together?” Luna tilts her head a little. She didn’t hear about this. She thought just the evidence of how he kills Barbara would be sufficient but is there more?
Nodded her head, Dania said again, “It seems like Mr. Liam found a new lead about the accident that happens to Dr. Fang and her wife on the day when you…supposedly to be dead.”
Luna sighed before she rubs her forehead a little. “Is it also has something to do with James?” she never thought of it. How…and why? Why would he go this far just to make them separate?
“We don’t know yet. But what I heard from Mr. Liam’s side is..the one who kills them had a link with Mr. James.”
Rose glance at her watch before she opens her mouth, “Um…I hate to disrupt your discussion, but we might be late if we do not move now.”
Luna averts her eyes to Rose, and Rose just shows her the watch on her wrist. Nodded, Luna took her purse and said, “Alright, let’s go. We can discuss it later.”
Dania and Rose silently follow her from behind. With the four bodyguards waiting for Luna at the outside of the house, Luna was a bit startled. She feels like she’s someone from a Royal family with a bunch of people guarding her.
But she knows, Raymond was just worried about her. He wants her to be protected while he’s gone somewhere. ‘Well, let’s just focus on the event today!’ Luna tries to cheer up a little.
…
Luna observing the couple from the side how Elanor and Stephen were crying when the pastor started his speech about living and death. She then saw Caitlin sit silently far from both of them. She was alone, and no expression of sadness comes from her at all.
As the speech goes on and reaches the end, Luna could see just how little the people who attend Sarah’s funeral. No one from Wayne comes and only her who nice enough to give Sarah the final goodbye.
If there’s a next life, she would never want to reencounter her. Let her achieve her own happiness and reborn as a better person. Her revenge end here. In this life.
Luna holds a white rose on her hand before she walks to the altar. She put the flower on top of the casket while looking at the deceased. ‘Let’s our grudge end here, Sarah. I hope you can rest well, but I think you might be busy in hell right now. So…farewell, Sarah.’ She said inwardly.
As she turns around, Elanor seems surprised to see her, and she immediately averts her eyes from locking with Luna. Maybe she was embarrassed or still thinking that Luna was why her daughter died in shame like that.
Luna ignored her gaze and didn’t wait long. She then walks back to the car and saw Raymond was there. Leaning his back on the black Audi while folding his hand around his chest.
“I thought you didn’t come,” Luna said and took another rose from Rose’s hand and handed it to the man.
Staring at his lovely wife, Raymond squints his eyes a little. Asking her why did she give him the rose?
“You should give her at least a rose,” Luna said, and Raymond sighed.
“Don’t wanna.”
While both Dania and Rose already look at each other. Wonder why the heck Luna wants her husband to give the rose to that bitch who wrecks her marriages.
“Darling..” Luna took Raymond’s hands and put the rose on his palm, “It’s not about me. She was once your beloved. She was your first love. She matters to you once, and I want you to remember her in a good way. About what she’s done to us…let’s not think about it for today. Send her properly, okay?” she tries to persuade the man, and Raymond hangs his head down after hearing it.
“Darling..”
“Alright, fine.” Raymond grips the thornless rose stem together with Luna’s hand before he looks at her again. “I might have a lot of things that I want to tell her, but will you be okay? You won’t get jealous, aren’t you?”
Chuckles, Luna peck on Raymond’s lips, “No, I won’t. She’s dead anyway.” and Raymond also giggles, hearing Luna’s answer.
Touch her cheek, Luna then leans her face on Raymond’s palm. “I miss you.” She mutters it slowly, and Raymond softly kiss her forehead before he whispers,
“Sorry, I didn’t return home last night.”
Luna smiles and nods her head. Of course, she understands Raymond’s reason. She’s not the type who likes to be too clingy.
“Now go.” Luna releases her hand from Raymond and smiles at him. Encouraging him.
“Wait inside the car. I won’t long.”
Luna nod and obey his order.
…
Caitlin put the rose on the coffin before she blankly looks at her sister, who looks like she was sleeping. Well, she should give applause for the funeral service team that her family hired. Her face just looks fine despite her actual condition that day.
When she remembers back of what happened between them back then, she really can’t forgive her at all. She was too mean to her in her childhood to a.d.u.l.thood years. All she does is scheming her and do whatever it takes to make her father hate her more.
Even until now, the hatred root she put inside her father’s heart still seems to be working well. Congratulations to her.
‘I never like you, Sarah. You deserve to die like this, but I also feel sorry for you. You never achieve what you want in this life. Didn’t I tell you? Greed will make you suffered a great loss. For now…I do hope you rot in hell.’
As she turns her body, she saw Raymond approaching the coffin, holding the same color rose as Luna before. She scrunches her eyebrow a little, but Raymond only gives her a slight smile on his face before putting the rose on the casket. He looks to be staring at Sarah a bit longer than Luna.
Shrugged her shoulder, Caitlin moves to leave the church. She didn’t intend to wait until they bury her.
When Raymond was staring at the corpse, he didn’t look sad or gloom like an ex-boyfriend should. ‘I’m sorry if you have been wasting your time chasing me, Sarah. I am also sorry to fell in love with you first, but in the end, I couldn’t make you my wife because of the tragedy between us. I couldn’t love you the way I love Luna. I can lose you but not her, Sarah. I will remember the good memory we had, and I do hope you can rest well. This is my final goodbye to you. Do not hope that I will come and visit you because I won’t. I’m sorry.’
