Daughters of the Elite - Chapter 118
Only Song Ren would be thrown in jail the night before her wedding. Luckily, however, when Qian Meigui went to the Song Mansion, where she met all the women to prepare their hair and makeup, Song Ren arrived as nothing happened.
It was first thing in the morning, and Qian Meigui was jittery with excitement. She sat next to Song Ren in front of a well-lit mirror, as the stylists worked on their hair and makeup. Afterwards, when the stylists finished, Qian Meigui glanced at her reflection. Her hair curled softly; her makeup gave her pink eyelids, and blushed cheeks, complimenting her blush pink bridesmaid dress. She felt beautiful, but she knew that Song Ren would look more appealing since it was her special day.
Qian Meigui turned to her sister, where the stylist was adding her last-minute adjustment. They were placing a crown over her straight-sleek black hair that stopped at her waist; her makeup held golden eyeshadow with fierce feline wings. Her cheekbones were sharp and hollow; her lips painted crimson. Her white dress was an off-shoulder sweet-heart gown encrusted with beads from the waist up.
Qian Meigui’s mouth gaped, wondering why she was still surprised that Song Ren was perhaps the most beautiful woman she’d ever seen. Song Ren seemed to have noticed her reaction as she smiled at her through the mirror.
“Do you think Su Feng would like it?” she asked.
Qian Meigui nodded enthusiastically. Song Ren grabbed her hand, sighing deeply. She could tell that Song Ren’s heart was pounding by how much her chest expanded. She felt nervous and perhaps excited that she got to marry the man she loved.
“When you and Sheng get married, I want little nieces and nephews as soon as possible. That way, our children can grow up together,” Song Ren said to her.
Qian Meigui flushed at her words. Song Sheng did not even propose, and yet Song Ren was sure of their union.
The veil was the last thing they placed, over the crown on top of her head. Qian Meigui felt emotional at how great she looked, at how they were all preparing for stuff like weddings when there were more events ahead of them. And this point in time, this was something that they would look back at in the future.
She was grateful that Song Ren and the others have been so good to her. The spirits of the Song family excited her, and she was one of them, whether as a daughter or daughter-in-law, it didn’t matter.
The wedding took place at a large banquet, owned by the Long family. Long Huojin sent Song Ren a letter days before, “I wish you and your husband well, friend; this is my wedding gift to the happy couple – Long Huojin.”
Song Ren wanted Long Huojin to be there, but he said that he would not be in the country when the wedding took place, but he sent his best wishes to the both of them.
The interior of one of the halls filled with decorated benches, white tulips, snowdrops, and orchids drowned the room, all over the floors, walls, and ceilings, arranged by Su Feng. Qian Meigui found her place in line in front of the double doors where Song Ren was behind them with Song Rui.
Qian Meigui could see everything through peaking in between the doors. When the music began playing, she stood next to Song Jinyi as they walked down the aisle. Su Feng wore an all-white suit; his golden hair kept to the side. But Qian Meigui couldn’t help but glance at the man next to him.
Song Sheng wore a white shirt underneath his black suit. He had a boutonniere on the left side of his suit. His hair kept neat, his face glowed. She didn’t linger her gaze for too long as she stepped onto the platform. The other bridesmaid’s followed her immediately after.
As soon as the wedding song played, Song Ren entered the room with Song Rui at her side. Through her veil, Song Ren carried the aura of a feudal aristocratic woman. Qian Meigui beamed at her.
When Su Feng took Song Ren’s hand, helping her step on the platform, his expression was sincere and emotional. He then flipped her veil over her crown, revealing her radiating beauty. He took a step back, his lips parted, taking an appreciative glance, with a look of longing and desire,
the same look that he gave her the day Song Sheng surprised him at their grandparent’s banquet, over a year ago. Qian Meigui chuckled to herself.
She dared herself to look towards Su Feng’s left where Song Sheng was gazing at her intensely. Qian Meigui flushed, but she shot her attention to Song Ren and Su Feng.
Once they exchanged rings and vows, Su Feng kissed Song Ren deeply on the lips, giving her more pecks that followed. The crowd cheered them on, and Qian Meigui clapped enthusiastically, happy and proud. Song Ren’s smiled lit up the hall, as she revealed her vulnerability, and honesty: she loved Su Feng, there was no hiding it.
After the wedding, they moved into the dance hall where food waited on the tables surrounding the floor. They all seated and ate. The guests danced until nightfall and continued until early morning. Song Sheng and Qian Meigui danced with their bodies pressed together and apart, depending on the rhythm of the music, but they danced freely in front of everyone. He would pick her up in between, reaching up to kiss her and she would wrap her arms around him.
Song Ren and Su Feng were very much enjoying themselves, lost in their world, lost in each other.
While they were dancing, Su Feng whispered to her, “I love you, Mrs. Su.”
Song Ren smiled against his lips, kissing him. After they parted, she said to him. “I love you too, Mr. Su.”
They pressed their foreheads as they danced and swayed.
It was 5 in the morning when the hall emptied. Song Ren and Su Feng went to their hotel room to consummate their marriage, more or less, making love until they fell asleep. Despite staying up all night, they were energetic when it came to lovemaking.
Meanwhile, Song Sheng drove Qian Meigui, who was fast asleep in the passenger seat. Instead of taking her home, he went in a different direction. Once they arrived, he lifted her in his arms, and she did not wake. She only stirred by snuggling into his embrace.
Song Sheng carried her into an airplane, where he told the first-class employees not to bother them unless she was awake. He settled her down on a cabinet bed. It was small, but once he removed his shoes and jacket, they entangled each other to fit.
The two of them slept until they arrived, but Qian Meigui had no idea that she even left China.
