Daughters of the Elite - Chapter 90
Song Ren returned to Su Feng’s home with the new dresses she purchased and its alterations. She wanted to provide him with a show, trying on her clothes but he wasn’t home. She didn’t overthink of it, so she proceeded to go to the master bedroom and hung them in her closet.
After she finished, she decided to flip on the television. She turned on the latest news where Sun Group showed up on the screen. Several members of the board, including Su Guiren and some of his cousins, were getting arrested and escorted out of the building by the police. Cameras flashed persistently at them by the paparazzi.
Song Ren’s heart sunk. She ran out of the house, hopping into her car, driving to Sun corporation. When she arrived, her eyes darted around the building. Many police cars surrounded the area. She tried to get into the building when security stopped her. “Ma’am you cannot get in. Police are investigating the building.”
Song Ren gritted her teeth before picking up the phone to call Su Feng. He didn’t pick up at all. She kept calling until finally, he answered, “Ren?”
“Where are you?” she asked him, demanding an answer.
“I’m speaking to the detectives right now.” Song Ren glanced around the crowd, trying to make out his figure. Su Feng was waving at her, trying to capture her attention. Song Ren sighed of relief. She ran up to him, embracing him hard as he caught her. She wrapped her arms and legs around his body as he stroked her back assuringly. “I’m okay,” he said.
People snapped photos of them as it not only looked like an intimate position, but it looked like a scandal. Song Ren didn’t give a damn. She was worried about him.
“I thought you were getting arrested,” she said. “I thought they were going to question you.” Su Feng reached out to grab her shaking hands. “It’s okay,” he began. “I reported the company to the police, and they came to take those involved. They wanted to take me in too, but knowing that I was the one that reported, they are only going to ask a few questions.”
Song Ren nodded as Su Feng kissed her forehead lovingly. They both didn’t care that people took pictures of them. They followed the detectives to the police station together.
Song Ren waited for hours until Su Feng finished speaking to the officers. He then came out to see her. “What is going on?” she asked.
“They are being held overnight. My father will bail them out in the morning. But I have to testify against them in court,” he said.
“Are you prepared?” she asked.
“Mhm,” he began. “Song Mei and the law firm will represent me.”
Song Ren looked at him, “She knew what you were doing all this time?” she asked. Su Feng caressed her cheek. “Don’t get mad at her now.”
Song Ren shook her head. “I’m not mad. Just surprised that she kept the secret so well.”
Su Feng chuckled, “Let’s go home,” he said. Song Ren glanced up at him, “Mhm,” she responded. They both walked out of the police station holding hands. More media outlets waited for them and snapped photos, but they continued to head in their car without another care in the world.

Song Sheng was at home dressing for an interview when he felt Qian Meigui snake her arms around him from behind. She embraced him tightly, breathing in his scent. Song Sheng glanced at them through the mirror. She was wearing one of his shirts, stopping at her thighs. His throat bobbed, but he needed to go, and it would be unfortunate if she made him late.
“What are you going to do today?” he asked her.
“Mhm, nothing,” she purred. “What are you doing?” she asked.
Song Sheng folded a tie around his neck. “I have to attend an interview,” he responded. Qian Meigui loosened her grip. “Oh?” she began, “Can I come with you?”
Song Sheng thought for a moment. “It shouldn’t harm anyone if you came to support me.” He then turned to face her. Qian Meigui still kept her grip on him as she smiled up at him. “I want to come,” she said. Song Sheng gave in to her sweet talk. “All right,” he said.
Song Sheng had an interview with Empire Entertainment. He walked into the building with Qian Meigui by his side. The receptionist personally came to escort the two of them into the room, where Yu Qingge was already waiting.
Yu Qingge’s hands clenched into fists when she saw Song Sheng walk in with that woman by his side. Keeping her cool, she approached the two of them, greeting them both. “Hello, I’m Yu Qingge,” she said to her. Qian Meigui smiled slightly, “Hello, I’m Song Mei.”
Yu Qingge was speechless. “Oh, so you’re related to Song Sheng?” she asked. Qian Meigui then smiled grimly, nodding. Yu Qingge then smiled of relief. She felt stupid for thinking she was competing against his own family.
Yu Qingge guided Qian Meigui to a snack table, welcoming her. She figured if she can’t win over Song Sheng directly that perhaps his sister can help her.
Song Sheng went to the set for the interview meeting the host. He went up alone, as Yu Qingge already spoke, answering different questions. Qian Meigui and Yu Qingge watched Song Sheng as he answered each question naturally from behind the scenes.
Yu Qingge tried to start up a conversation with her, but Qian Meigui didn’t seem to be interested, only watching Song Sheng the entire time.
Song Sheng spoke about the investments he made with the company, his transition in his new position, as well as his acting. Song Sheng was well-spoken, carrying the aura of a powerful, strong man. Yu Qingge couldn’t peel her eyes away. His smile—as he spoke to the host—revealed a dimple that she had not noticed before. In fact, she never realized that he smiled much at all.
Once the interview finished, Song Sheng approached them. Yu Qingge straightened her posture, but he stopped in front of Qian Meigui. He ruffled her hair and said, “Let’s go. I finished for the day.” Qian Meigui then started after him, following his steps. Yu Qingge was dumbfounded, feeling left out of the loop.
She shortly followed them as they walked towards the exit as she, too, had to leave. She walked towards her parked car when she glanced Qian Meigui, and Song Sheng hop in theirs. Yu Qingge turned on her car as she glanced up once more stunned. In the driver and passenger seat, Song Sheng was leaning over, kissing her. Yu Qingge gaped at them. She then curled her fingers over the steering wheel, chuckling darkly. They really fooled her this time.
