Dear Young Master Spare Me Please? - 218 Flowers
it wasn’t even half an hour when bolin requested to come in again.
zhang huiling who was in the middle of reviewing the big ‘requests’ and weighing the pros and cons of accepting them, knitted her brows before granting the request.
“what is it?” there was a hint of subtle irritation in her voice when she asked bolin.
“leader, red is requesting to talk to you.” bolin politely answered in a well modulated voice.
after the ‘rescue’ of doctor tang, red was extremely quiet. it was as if what happened wasn’t related to her at all.
“later.” she simply answered. although red was considered one of her top people, it didn’t mean she could easily ask to spare her some time. but then again, she could’t say no out right as red wasn’t also someone who would seek her for a non sense reason.
bolin respectfully bowed and left the room.
after telling red the leader’s answer, she silently walked towards her own room in a uniform pace almost without a sound.
along the way, it seemed that she changed her mind as she changed her direction.
arriving outside the room with a number ’92’, she slowly opened the door. doors weren’t normally locked and that called ‘privacy’ was simply non existent for those who were considered newbie.
for someone like her, of course it’s totally different.
like what red expected, the woman bearing the code 92, was curled in the corner of her single sized bed. she was holding tightly the pair of rings attached to her necklace. she was sleeping but her complexion wasn’t really good.
red sighed inwardly.
92 was always like this. after she received her ‘initiation’ and had several nightmares, she also found this woman in this position.
it was the same when she first had her first kill.
now, after receiving her punishment for letting someone alive in their last mission, she was again in this position.

red didn’t really know if she would praise or condemn the honesty of this person. if she didn’t tell the leader that she let someone alive as she thought he was innocent, she wouldn’t be punished.
when red came back after settling the case of doctor tang, her emotions were in chaos. the first person she wanted to see was this woman. unfortunately, she was currently being punished. she didn’t have a choice but to wait.
red cautiously went to the small bathroom and damped a towel. she hesitated for a while before finally placing it on the end table nearby. there was an old lamp but it wasn’t turned on. maybe because it’s day time and the few lights escaping from the covered window were enough to lit up the entire room.
92’s punishment was clearly done yesterday but the woman probably couldn’t sleep last night after going back to her room. thus even though it was almost noon, she was still in deep slumber.
she walked to the side of the bed and sat down. she didn’t plan to wake her up nor to observe her.
she just wanted to silently accompany the sleeping woman as if by just being by her side she could calm down and think rationally again. she leaned backwards and closed her eyes.
when han mingxia opened her eyes, she immediately saw red sitting quietly on her bed. her eyes were closed but she knew she wasn’t sleeping.
“why are you here?” in a horse voice she asked her.
“if you’re this weak, why did you even join?” red answer as she slowly opened her eyes but didn’t glance at her. her gaze was focused on the small book shelf devoid of any books.
han mingxia sat properly and lowered her head.
red’s voice was emotionless. it wasn’t condemning nor criticizing her. she knew right from the start that this decision might be ridiculous for some people but she has a goal and joining was the only way she could think to reach her goal.
since red’s words were basically correct, han mingxia decided not to answer.
“there would be another assignment for partners. i’m about to ask the leader to let us do it.”
“you can clearly choose someone else, why me?”
han mingxia was aware about her own capacity. although she was able to pass and be part of the organization with her own effort, her talent was still way below the woman in front of her.
they actually did a total of only three together but those were more than enough for her to see the vast difference of their capability.
“consider that as a practical training. once i get the approval, prepare right away.”
han mingxia followed the swift movement of the woman until she disappeared in her sight.
‘red is helping me?’
she still couldn’t believe it. after the series of ‘failures’ she actually thought she would be abandoned or at least red would avoid being partner with her.
but then again, she didn’t know how that woman’s mind work thus she simply thanked her inwardly.
she looked at the pair of rings she was holding.
their wedding rings could give her a sense of calmness in the midst of chaos. it was as if her husband was still there guiding her.
if she could really be with red in most of her missions, then getting on the top would not be that difficult anymore.
‘daniel, maybe i can meet your family sooner.’ she whispered.
she smiled with full of hope. seeing the damped towel nearby, she took it and went to the small bathroom to wash her face.

“they went to the hospital? for what? check up? who did they meet?” madam liu asked a series of questions after hearing the report.
“doctor tang.” mr. liu simply answered and looked at his wife meaningfully.
as what he expected, madam liu’s eyes almost bulged as her lips formed an ‘o’ shaped before her entire expression basked in an unhindered happiness. with her eyes glistening with excitement she abruptly stood up.
“where are you going?” mr. liu asked his wife after seeing her swiftly walking out of the room.
“visiting them of course!” she answered without even looking back.
mr. liu was stupefied.
what happened with the ‘secretly observing her son’?
but then again, he couldn’t blame her. even him, he’s actually excited about the findings. remembering the conversation he had with his younger son, mr. liu’s smile deepened.
“good boy.” he murmured before he stood up to follow his wife.

the following morning, han meixiu was woken up with a subtle scent of flowers. normally, she would like it but at his moment it actually gave her a little headache.
like her usual time to get up, it was almost 10 in the morning.
looking around, she noticed that their room resembled a flower garden.
‘what happened?’ she thought as she slowly moved her feet to the side of the bed.
when the door opened, she saw her husband carrying a vase of flowers.
“you’re awake.”
feeling puzzled han meixiu asked him. “what’s with these flowers?”
“you don’t like them?” liu zijian asked in a surprised tone.
“it’s too fragrant.” she answered while wrinkling her nose.
“then i’ll tell them to remove them.” he answered and placed the vase casually on the nearby end table before assisting han meixiu.
“en.”
liu zijian pondered for a while. after han meixiu went inside the bathroom, he immediately ordered people to remove all the flowers in the entire house.
he even ordered to open all the windows to let the winter cold air removed the lingering scents of flowers.
was the result of the survey not reliable? or it’s his wife that has different preference from others?
liu zijian recalled the other things he could do when courting someone. since the flower failed, he should try the next one.
but even before he could plan his next move, a certain visitor came.
“mom?”
