Death System - Chapter 32 Chapter 31
“I’m alright.”
Driving his Qigong to close the wound, Zuyuan sighed deeply with a pale complexion.
‘He’s strong.’
That last burst of power was unexpected. Honestly, he was caught unguarded when his enemy counterattacked right at the next moment he had stabbed him. On the hindsight of this encounter, he learned that not all the missionaries were on the goblin’s side.
‘After all, the system did say this world was that of jungle dwellers. Humans aren’t a race that is suitable for that.’
Contemplating for a while, he glanced downward to look at the area near his right waist. A hole as big as a baby fist appeared with blood flowing non stop. Although he had done his best to use Qigong to accelerate his regeneration, the injury was still too deep.
“Guard me for a moment, I will need some time to recover..”
Knowing that the best course of action would be to focus completely on his wound, Zuyuan asked XB11 to protect him as he closed his eyes and started to absorb as much Qigong as possible from the surrounding air. Then, at the same time, he guided those Qigong into a stream that went to his injury.
As it was about to acknowledge its master’s instruction, its master had already closed his eyes. Nodding silently as to not disturb its master, XB11 came down and readied its assault rifle. Its gaze scanned the surroundings for any sudden assaults.
“Thaav shara iuk injurun.. (That human is injured..)”
One of the nearby orcs that had woken up from the screeching hell saw Zuyuan with killing intent flashing in his eyes. He muttered slowly as his body was still wobbly. Furrowing, he tried to steady himself before charging at Zuyuan. But the next moment, a fireball flew right at him and exploded his head before he knew what hit him.
“Ahi and Oro, go deal with the orcs nearby, I would like to take a moment to talk with the Missionary.”
The head of the goblin tribe, Hahi, walked towards Zuyuan with cold sweat on his back. The sound wave attack from before had made anyone, no matter if it was goblins or orcs suffer, including him.
“Yes, head!”
Two hobgoblin warriors from before replied at the same time and ran to the nearby enemies. Furrowing, Hahi mused as his gaze was still fixed on Zuyuan, ‘There’s other humans on the other side.. How did the orcs know we would contact the Missionaries to help us?’
Feeling something strange had happened, Hahi squinted his eyes more as his thoughts wandered around and speculated the possibilities of this impact. As his thought finally landed on Zuyuan’s form, he knitted his eyebrows more.
The human was a strong helper and was able to fend off the enemies from before. But considering the injuries he had suffered, it would best to think it was a fluke.
“Stop right there.”
XB11 pointed its gun with a firm grip as it warned, “Unless it was a permission from my master himself, no one shall be allowed to go near him.”
Half shouting to Zuyuan as he couldn’t go any further, Hahi tried to make himself sound worried, “Missionary, you are injured! Let me help you! Our tribe has some herbs that would be able to heal your wound in no time.”
Still closing his eyes, Zuyuan’s body didn’t move a single inch as his mind was too focused with gathering the Qigong from the air. After a few seconds, Zuyuan only let out a sigh full of turbid air and went back to concentrating on his wound.
XB11 turned its head and saw that its master didn’t even respond to the goblin’s invitation for a while and then said, “Master would like some time to be by himself.”
Seeing that his good gesture was rejected flatly, Hahi clicked his tongue softly as he cursed on his mind, ‘Tokhel dhuugaarlaar… (stupid foreigner).’
As he thought about what he could do to help the missionary quickly and get him to join the battlefield again, Zuyuan opened his eyes and asked, “How far would it be to go to the goblin’s chief?”
Not liking where the question led to, Hahi still answered the missionary’s query, “It will be two days on foot on the west side of this tribe.”
Nodding to show he understood, Zuyuan tried not to show a cringe expression on his face as he slowly got up. His gaze swept on the surroundings and saw that his battle from before had yet to diminish the orcs morale and they were still pushing forward and killing the goblins. The goblins had a hard time fighting the orcs with their small bodies and had to face one orc with a group of two or three.
The hobgoblin warriors and their leader, Huhe, were able to stand toe to toe with the orc warriors and even kill some of them with ease. Although it wasn’t a scene of slaughter like what it was when the war started, the goblin side was still at a disadvantage overall.
The orcs had the numerical advantage over them, as well as better quality of fighters among their ranks. With how it was going, the orcs would soon overwhelm the goblins’ side and burn down their tribe.
The orcs were rushing through the ranks of the goblins, using their slingshot squad to push back the hobgoblin advance.
Squinting his eyes after watching the battleground, Zuyuan ordered XB11 with an unpleasant tone, “XB11, take care of the orcs. Devastate them. I would need to talk with Hahi for a while.”
“Acknowledged, master.” Gesturing its right fist to its chest, XB11 nodded its head and flew to the orcs that had been slingshotting all this time.
Once it was at a proper distance to use its rifle, XB11 aimed at the slingshot squad and began firing multiple shots at the female orcs.
The bullets zoomed through the air with a thundercrack sound and pierced through the skulls of a multitude of orcs, their brain matter splattered over the jungle plants and their bodies quickly fell down lifelessly on the ground.
Seeing the fallen bodies of their companions, the rest of the female orcs began to shout at each other and pointed their fingers towards XB11 which was flying high in the sky above them. Then, they started to aim at XB11 together and shoot at it. The stones flew across the air quickly towards XB11. But XB11 dodgethe stones easily and shot back at them with bullets.
Screams of anger and fear arose as the bullets tore their formation apart like a knife cutting through butter. The rain of bullets continued to riddle the orcs’ bodies with holes. Blood splattered everywhere as the dying screams of the slingshot squad went silent after a mere dozen breaths. Some of their body parts were mangled because of the size of the bullets calibre, and the rest of them decorating the grassland part of the jungle.
Noticing the state of their backline warriors massacred, the orcs warriors on the front line enraged. Their eyes had become bloodshot as they shot daggers with their gaze at XB11’s figure floating in the sky.
Observing the change of the orc warriors, XB11 floated motionlessly and said,
“It’s time for a slaughter.”
