Decisions (Inner Desires Series) - Chapter 8
It had been three days since Olivia, Nicole, Shane and Surriey had released from the hospital. Since Surriey had returned, she would not leave from Demon’s side and Demon was kind of getting annoyed, but understood. She was frightened of what had happened to them and she felt vulnerable for allowing such a thing to happen. Surriey was also helping Shane explain all the rules and regulations to Nicole.
Nicole was easy. The morning her foster parents showed and Olivia mentioned her Dixie wanted to take her on, the fosters were all for it, they couldn’t have been happier. Nicole was quite happy to be out of that place and a part of something better. When she first came to Olivia’s house, they were greeted by Raska and the first thing Nicole did, was hug the living daylights out of him. He had been confused at first, until Olivia told him the story Nicole told her. Raska had then placed a kiss on Nicole forehead and smiled.
Shane was still very much in pain, but he did his best to hide it. Olivia could tell that Shane was very angry about being ambushed by Alcatraz. He had never dealt with such an attack and he was burning over it. He wanted nothing more than to go find Alcatraz and teach him a lesson about attacking him.
As for Olivia, she was feeling a little left out, by meaning with all the excitement, people in the house were ignoring her, especially Shane and for some reason, that really bothered her. She had only just met the guy, but he had protected her even know he only knew her a few days. For some reason, Olivia wanted him to notice her, to pay attention to her. She didn’t know why, she just wanted to have his attention on her. She watched as Shane stood up and headed up the stairs. It was late and she knew it, so she knew he was going to bed. She decided to follow him to try and talk to him before he fell asleep.
As she entered the guest room that he was staying in, she noticed he had already passed out on the bed. Olivia was about to walk back out when Shane zipped in front of her and closed the bedroom door. Withing seconds, he had his lips on hers. Their tongues danced and played with each other before Shane forced Olivia onto the bed. He climbed on top of her and reclaimed her lips with his, savoring the sweet taste of her.
Shane kept his hold on Olivia’s lips while he used one of his hands to unbutton her jeans. He then slipped the other under the waistband of her underwear, causing Olivia to moan into his mouth. He hadn’t forgotten what her brothers had said about her hormones. He slipped his fingers into her moist cavern, causing her to let an even bigger moan escape into his mouth. Shane moved his fingers quickly, which in turn, caused her to release herself completely to passion. Shane removed his fingers from her, causing her to softly whimper sounds of protest. He released the kiss and using both hands, pushed her shirt off of her petite frame. He then went around her back and unclipped her bra, releasing her luscious breasts from their fabric imprisonment. He then took one pink nipple into his mouth, while massaging the other breast with one of his free hands. The other free hand, found its way back under her waistband, but instead of plunging them into her wetness, he began playing with her love button, which made her squirm under his body.
His tongue played with her nipple, while his mouth sucked her breast. His fingers toyed with her clit until he felt her quiver, knowing she released a second time. He then relinquished his hand, and his mouth. Using both hands, he pulled her jeans off and pushed her further onto his bed, all the way to the bedpost. He then unbuttoned his own jeans, revealing a very rock-hard penis. Shane flipped Olivia over and plunged himself deep inside of her, causing her to bury her face into the pillow to prevent from anyone hearing her. He thrusted into her fast and hard, causing her to release a moan each time he slammed into her. She could barely contain her pleasure, when he thrusted one last time, causing both of them to release in pleasure. Shane collapsed on the bed beside her, happy and spent.
“And here I thought you were ignoring me,” Olivia said softly.
“I’ve just been busy,” he chuckled, “You felt so good.”
“Well, I’ll have you know, that was my first time.”
“What? A gorgeous woman like you?”
“Well, I was waiting for the right man, I guess.”
“I see,” he smiled, reaching his hand around, pulling her close to his body.
“I take it the heat is a werewolf thing?” she asked.
“Yes.”
Shane kept his hold on Olivia, while his free hand went around her stomach and began playing with her clit again.
“Aren’t you tired?” she asked, trying to control her hormones.
“Not in the least,” he chuckled.
Shane started nibbling on Olivia’s ear and began moving his fingers faster on her clit, causing her to release more moans. She had to cover her mouth to prevent from being too loud. He stopped nibbling on Olivia’s ear and began nibbling down the nape of her neck, making shivers go down her spine. He then moved his fingers from her clit, and plunged them deep inside of her, causing her to release again.
Olivia forced herself to push Shane away, and the forced him onto his back. She then slid down his stomach to his waistline. After, she took the length of him into her mouth, causing him to release a moan himself. She brought her mouth up and down on his shaft, making him shiver with each motion. A smiled went clean across Olivia’s face as she continued to suck and play with his penis. She then used one of her hands and started to massage is sac, which in turn, made in release inside her mouth. She lapped up every bit of cum he released.
She released his penis then, causing him to whimper this time. She made a trail of kissed up his stomach, his neck, his cheek and then captured his lips. As she held his lips, she positioned herself and then plunged herself on top of Shane, causing him to moan deep into her mouth. She moved faster and faster on top of him until they both released in ecstasy. Olivia collapsed on top of Shane, completely spent.
“Something tells me, there’s going to be a lot more of this,” Shane softly laughed, brushing a strand of hair out of Olivia’s eye.
“I should think so.”
“So, I guess we’re partners then?” he asked.
“Seems that way,” she laughed.
“Well, I believe I have my strength back.”
“I believe so.”
“Now what do we do?” he asked.
“Sleep. I’m spent,” she giggled.
“Alright.”
The next morning, Shane and Olivia came down the stairs to be greeted by Jacob, Raska, Alex, Demon, Surriey, Tessmere and Nicole. All of them had huge grins on their faces. Olivia figured that they must have known what Shane and her were doing last night. Olivia then noticed both Raska and Tessmere’s expression changed.
“What’s up?” Olivia asked, addressing Raska.
“The council members are on their way to Mission. They connected with each other in Toronto the day you guys were released from hospital. They’re now all on a flight to Vancouver and then meeting here. I already asked Dixie and Darren if we could use your place as home base. I also told them that for their safety, they should stay at a hotel for a while. I paid for the hotel. The council doesn’t know that humans know about our existence. They cannot do anything about Nicole or Shane, but they’ll want to defang Surriey,” Raska explained, “I suggested that for now, Olivia could use her magic to hide Surriey’s fangs.”
“I could probably do that. When are they supposed to arrive?” Olivia asked.
“Tomorrow evening. They’re arriving late tonight, but staying in a hotel. Another thing, Sarjen is not aware of any of you being his children. He also isn’t aware that Dane Asayda is his son, so I would suggest keeping that quiet for now,” Tessmere growled.
“You’re not please with him coming?” Olivia said.
“Of course not. I am only allowed to go after him if there’s not serious business to attend.”
“Wait, didn’t that letter say that Dane was an Asayda?”
“Yes, Asayda is a pack name, not a family name. Most shifters don’t have last names. The four of you were lucky to gain the name Bowen,” Raska explained.
“I see. So, as far as Sarjen is concerned, its just a rogue pack member,” Jacob said.
“Yes,” Tessmere and Raska said in unison.
Olivia felt nervous now because her, Nicole, Shane and Jacob all had an encounter with Dane at the hospital, which was actually a good thing. They were able to have a good, decent conversation with Dane and being able to explain to him just how important he was. Now, she knew she had to tell the council about the fact that Dane needed to kill Alcatraz first before they put him to death.
“Um, we have something to confess,” Olivia began.
“We?” Alex asked.
“Myself, Shane, Nicole and Jacob,” Olivia answered.
“Liv,” Jacob started.
“They need to know,” Olivia snapped, the continued, “We had a run in with Dane at the hospital.”
“What? When?” Surriey asked.
“He was the wolf that was running through the hospital,” Jacob admitted.
“Anyway, what we knew about werewolves and Alcatraz, we were at least able to tell him all of that information. He’s still hellbent on changing the supernatural laws, which I don’t blame him. Look what we had to do, we had to reveal ourselves to a human and then Shane had to infect her,” Olivia sighed, “I understand what Dane wants, its just not the right way.”
“I think we all do,” Alex agreed, glaring at Raska and Tessmere.
“Hey! Megael writes the laws, we just make sure everyone follows them,” Tessmere answered defensively.
“You’re Megaels son though,” Demon said.
“That means shit all to him. He never listened to anyone but Marissa and unfortunately she died,” Raska sighed, “No hatred towards you, only Sarjen,” Raska added, noticing Tessmeres saddened face.
“I know. I wish it had been Sarjen, maybe Dane wouldn’t be in this situation if Marissa had lived and Sarjen had died,” Tessmere sighed.
“But then, no human would show that they like us,” Olivia smiled, “Because of this, we grew up with humans who accepted us for who we are.”
“Which is why they’re staying at a hotel. Megael would have their memories erased and they would track Nicolas down and do the same. The unfortunate part is you all would remember, but they wouldn’t,” Raska explained.
“That’s horrible,” Olivia sighed.
Olivia was starting to hate the supernatural laws more and more. Especially when it came to learning this about the family, she grew up in. Everything Olivia has learned recently has gotten her hating the laws more and more. She was really starting to understand what her brother was so angry and so frustrated over. At the end of the day though, she knew that Dane was doing the wrong thing by trying to destroy the council. However, at the same time Olivia was starting to realize that the council was never going to change, the council would continue to keep supernaturals hidden forever. Olivia knew it was going to be up to supernaturals to prove to the council that humans can handle supernaturals, but not the way Dane was doing it. Dane was going to make it much harder for supernaturals to prove themselves if he went through with his plan.
“This may sound dumb, but we’re going to have to prove to the council ourselves, eventually, that humans can accept supernaturals,” Olivia said, “But we have to stop Dane before he screws everything up.”
“It doesn’t sound dumb. Your idea is very smart Olivia and it could work too,” Alex smiled.
They all had the same thought about Olivia’s idea and then knew it needed to be the right way. Simple acts towards humans, kindness, other ways of slowly showing their true colors, that would allow humans to treat them with the same respect that they treat their own kind, and then the council would have to accept what is because at that point, humans would know more and be accepting. On top of that, it would open more opportunities for life saving jobs for supernaturals. The whole thing started with the rejection letter to Dane, telling him he couldn’t be in a live saving job.
Olivia and her siblings had not known all the rules and regulations of supernaturals when Dane submitted his application. So, without knowing those rules and sending his application in and getting a rejection letter, even though he was an A student, was a major blow to Dane. Olivia remembered because she was comforting him through the several days, he was distraught over being rejected. He was the sort of person who loved helping both supernaturals and humans, but once that rejection letter came, everything changed. The letter was also sent with a list of all the supernatural rules and regulations, of which none of Olivia’s siblings or herself agreed with, especially the one that said to conceal yourself from humans. Well, that wasn’t possible with their parents because their parents raised them and cared for them. Their parents didn’t care that they were supernaturals, they treated them equally and like family.
Olivia wished that the council would notice this, see this even, but she wasn’t going to risk her parents losing their memories because the council was suck in their old ways. The only ones that seemed open to the idea, were the two council members that were residing in their home currently. Raska and Tessmere, both showed promise and that they wanted to help Olivia and her siblings. She just hoped that if this attack happens, she could try and tell Dane that Raska and Tessmere are on their side and to not kill them.
With that thought in mind, Olivia headed for the front door, opened it and left the house, causing everyone in the living room to be confused at her actions.
* * * *
Olivia had looked for over an hour to try to find her brother. It was getting late and she was starting to get tired. This was the first time she had been in wolf form for this long. She had only switched one other time and that was before she met Shane. She wasn’t familiar with it and it was waring on her a bit. She had no idea that being in her wolf form, took so much out of a shifter, especially when they were new at it. Olivia finally decided to give up and started to head back home. She knew she had a little bit of time to find him before the weekend he planned to try and kill the council. As she headed back home, she could feel someone following her, she could smell something following her. She started feeling scared, because she recognized the smell and she knew who it belonged to.
Olivia stopped and looked around, fear was starting to overwhelm her as she continued to look around, but saw nothing. She sat on the sidewalk, waiting for the smell, the feeling to go away, but it didn’t. She tried to control her fear, because she had a feeling that fear was a kind of food for what was watching her. She didn’t want to end up in the hospital a third time. However, the second time was caused by Alcatraz, and if she ended up in the hospital a third time, either ICU or the morgue, it would also be because of Alcatraz. She easily recognized his scent from the coffee shop, especially now. After about ten minutes, Alcatraz smell still lingered and Olivia could still feel him watching. She wasn’t sure what he was planning and she wasn’t sure if he was targeting her. She figured he was targeting her, because he hadn’t left yet and was still watching her.
“What do you want?!” she snapped, not sure if he could hear her or even answer her.
Not to her surprise, no one answered. She wasn’t sure if he could do telepathy, but if he could, he clearly had no interest in answering her. Olivia knew she was in danger, especially if Dane wasn’t around to stop Alcatraz. She was only a shifter, not a werewolf, although she was a goddess’s granddaughter, that didn’t stop Alcatraz from targeting her or anyone else. Otherwise he would have never went after Shane. Olivia already figured that Alcatraz was more targeting Shane and Surriey the other day, she and Nicole were just a bonus for him.
Olivia was still afraid to move, for fear that Alcatraz would randomly jump out from somewhere. She was stuck and she wasn’t sure what to do. She did have magic, but she was only just learning how to use it. She could conjure clothing, but trying to do anything else, she was worried may make her faint and then she would be really vulnerable to Alcatraz. What scared her, is he was a creature of the Underworld, which meant, he could easily kill her, **** or do anything he wanted to her and that was why she was unsure of what to do. She couldn’t switch to human, because she would be naked and need to flash clothes on herself, but she would reveal her nude body to him before getting clothes on. She was in wolf form and was not sure of what she could do or if she could fight Alcatraz off.
Olivia looked down the street and saw two humans heading in her directions. She decided to lie down to avoid suspicion or frightening the humans. As the humans neared, she could hear the one human, female, pointer her out to whoever the female was with. She then heard the other human, which was male, answering whatever the question was. Olivia just prayed that Alcatraz wouldn’t cause a scene. They were in a pedestrian area, which lots of homes and lots of humans. If he started something now, it wouldn’t be good for humans or supernaturals a like and it would be slapped all over the news as a bad thing and that’s not what Olivia wanted and that was definitely not what Dane wanted.
At that moment, a thought struck Olivia, she figured out Dane’s entire plan. He wasn’t going to kill the council. He wanted to lured as many humans into the park and have Alcatraz attack them. He was going to be the hero and kill Alcatraz, showing both humans and the council that supernaturals were safe, friendly and capable of protecting humans. She just realized that Dane was going about this the right way. He was going to end Alcatraz all along, he just needed something dangerous and deadly to go after humans, he wasn’t planning on having humans killed, he wanted them as witnesses.
Olivia watched as the humans continued down the street and out of sight, but as soon as they did, Alcatraz lunged at her. Olivia quickly dodged it, but not before he was able to bring his sharp claws across her cheek. She darted out onto the road and began running in the opposite direction that the humans went in. She didn’t need them seeing a nine-foot black thing running down the street. It was bad enough that some of the humans in the house may see the creature, but may think it’s a shadow or something. At least, that’s what she thought, until Alcatraz started firing fire blasts at her out of his mouth. Now she knew this was going to be on the news. Olivia kept dodging the blasts, but she didn’t know how much longer she could run. She was running out of steam, and if she slowed down, she would be dead. She had to keep running, keep dodging to stay alive.
She could see in the distance behind her that Alcatraz was catching up to her and soon he would catch her. Adrenaline started kicking in and Olivia picked up her speed a bit. She looked ahead of her and realized there were Four beings. She had no idea if they were humans or shifters, until one of them, unfurled its wings and jumped ahead of her, causing the demon to stop in its tracks, turn tail and run. Olivia stopped then, panting and tired, she lied down on the cold cement and tried to catch her breath. She saw the three beings walking up to her, and the one who had the wings, also had green skin. The other two looked nothing like this being. One of them looked like a simple human and she could tell the other two were wolf shifters.
“Are you alright miss?” the green skinned being asked, raking his hand through his short red hair.
“I am now, thank you” she answered.
“I am going to assume that was Alcatraz?” one of the wolf shifters with short brown hair asked, addressing the other wolf shifter who had long silver hair that fell over his shoulders.
“I believe so,” he responded.
“Who are you guys?” Olivia asked.
“My name is Ruby, these two are Sarjen and Megael, and the one that looks like a human is Edcur,” Ruby answered, “And you are?”
“Olivia Asayda.”
“Asayda?” Sarjen asked, confused “How is a pack member of mine so far from home?”
“I was raised out here, don’t remember ever being in a pack other than my brother,” Olivia giggled, getting up and shifting to human form. She then conjured clothing to herself right before their eyes.
“Olivia? Olivia? Wait, you must be my granddaughter then,” Megael said.
“What?” Sarjen asked, “Raska finally have a kid or something?”
“You’re a dumbass Sarjen, no. Olivia is your daughter,” Megael growled.
“Seriously?” Sarjen asked, looking at Olivia, “Geez, you look a lot like your mother,” he said sheepishly.
“Raska said the same thing,” Olivia laughed.
“You’ve met Raska?” Ruby asked.
“Well yes, he said you guys were staying in a hotel in Vancouver till tomorrow night,” she said.
“Flight landed earlier than expected, I hope we’re not intruding,” Megael explained.
“No, not at all.”
“May I ask a question?” Sarjen said.
“Yes?” Ruby asked.
“I don’t suppose this ‘Dane Asayda’ is your brother?”
“…Yes…” Olivia quietly answered, “Raska said not to mention that part to you, but it seems you’re smarter than he puts on.”
“Well, it doesn’t help that the letter stated Dane Asayda and I didn’t know anyone by that name in my pack,” Sarjen said.
“May I borrow your phone?” Olivia said, directing her question to Edcur, who was playing with is phone.
Edcur handed Olivia the phone and she quickly dialed a number.
“Hello?” the voice on the other end said.
“Jacob, it’s me. I just had a run in with Alcatraz,” she started.
“What?! Are you okay?” he said, starting to panic.
“I’m fine, other than a scratch on my face. I’m on my way back. I’m using Edcur’s phone as I left mine at home. Megael, Ruby and Sarjen are all with me too. Alcatraz saw them and turned tail.”
“Okay, I’ll let the others know,” he said, before the line went dead.
“Thank you,” she said, handing the phone back to Edcur.
“Who’s Jacob?” Megael asked.
“My older twin brother. Demon is my younger twin. Dane is just below me, but above Demon. He’s smart, he figured out shifting before any of us did,” she sighed.
“I see,” Megael said.
“Come on, you might as well walk back with me,” she said.
“Why?” Sarjen asked.
“Because it’s my place you’re meeting at,” Olivia growled, annoyed with the question.
“Excuse me,” Megael started.
“Megael, she’s only annoyed because it was actually a rude question to ask. Raska told us where we were to meet, clearly Sarjen forgot,” Ruby said, stopping Megael.
The walk home was silent. No one knew what to say and Olivia certainly didn’t want to talk to the people that were going to hand the punishment to her brother. Once her house came into view, she pointed it out to them and then switched back to wolf form and darted away.
Olivia ran as far away from the council as she could. She felt like they were judging her, the whole way back to her place and she didn’t like it. Olivia ran into the forest and kept running, not caring where she was going. She could feel tears streaming down from her eyes and being soaked up by the fur. Olivia kept running until she came upon Rolley Lake, a lake that was nestled in the back of Mission, on the Maple Ridge border. She ran until she found herself on the trail that led around the lake. She switched back to human form and conjured her clothes back on. As she walked the lake trail, she used her long sleeve to wipe the tears that were still streaming down her face. She couldn’t control her pain, hurt, anger, frustration. She just wanted everything to be over, or rather, she wanted to go back in time and stop her brother before any of this ever started.
As she got half way around the lake, she heard twigs snapping in the distance and she took a fighting stance. She knew it wasn’t Alcatraz this time, because the scent wasn’t there. This scent was new to her, she didn’t recognize it. She sniffed the air to see if maybe it was a wild animal, but it wasn’t. As she looked towards where the smell was coming from, a wolf with dark brown fur and crystal blue eyes came into view.
“Jacob?” she asked.
“You had me scared shitless. The council came in and said you bolted off. I was worried Alcatraz may have attacked you again,” Jacob growled, “Also, that looks more like a gash than a scratch.”
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you,” Olivia sighed, sitting down on a stump, “I just couldn’t handle dealing with those jerks!”
“You mean the council?”
“Yes.”
“Can you conjure clothes for me if I switch to human?” he asked.
“Yes.”
Jacob changed to human form them and Olivia flashed clothing onto him.
“How did you shift?”
“Turns out, I’m extremely protective. When I heard you took off again, I shifted,” Jacob said, sitting next to Olivia, “Where did you go the first time anyway?”
“I was looking for Dane. I wanted to see if he would spare Raska and Tessmere and then something dawned on me. Dane summoned Alcatraz not to kill the council, but to prove to them that humans are willing to accept us.”
“How do you mean?”
“Huh, smart kid.”
“Yes, but I couldn’t find him and instead Alcatraz found me. If it wasn’t for the council, he would have killed me.”
“Clearly. You shouldn’t be risking your life, or looking for Dane for that matter,” he sighed.
“I was going to head back when I figured out what Dane was doing, but when I was heading back, I sensed Alcatraz. I recognized his scent from the coffee shop.”
“I’m glad you’re not hurt, but we should head back home, to where it’s safe.”
“I guess we should.”
Jacob kissed Olivia’s forehead and the two of them got up and were about to switch back to wolf form, when the heard twigs snapping in the nearby distance.
“Hello?” Jacob called out, but no one responded.
After a few moments, more twigs snapped, and Olivia’s sense of smell kicked in. She looked at Jacob and gave him an ‘oh shit, we’re in deep trouble’ kind of look. Jacob and Olivia looked in the direction of the snapping twigs, but then the noise stopped. Olivia became nervous then, she could smell him, but she couldn’t hear or see him. Her fear started to kick in again, but Olivia stamped down on it to keep it hidden. She didn’t want Alcatraz knowing she was frightened of him, so instead, she did something incredibly brave, she called out.
“Come and get me you coward!”
Withing seconds, Alcatraz bolted from where he was and charged at Olivia and Jacob. The two dodged Alcatraz’s advance and recovered before Alcatraz turned around for a second attempted. This time, he managed to knock Jacob towards the lake water, leaving Olivia to fight Alcatraz alone. Olivia took a fighting stance as Alcatraz circled her on all fours. His gums were raised, revealing his sharp teeth and his wings were unfurled. Alcatraz was ready to fight, fight until the death. It seemed to Olivia, that Dane had absolutely no control over this demon because it seemed that the demon did what it wanted, whether Dane approved or not.
Alcatraz went to lunge at Olivia again, but Olivia quickly moved and Alcatraz’s head was introduced to a tree trunk. Furious, Alcatraz turned around and tried to lunge at Olivia again, and again she dodged it, making Alcatraz crash into the lake water. Even more furious now, Alcatraz glared at Olivia, he got out of the water and started a third time circling her, only this time, she could tell he was thinking ahead. Olivia looked around for Jacob, but couldn’t see him, she hoped that he wasn’t knocked out and drowning in the water. Unfortunately, that train of thought, gave Alcatraz an advantage, because he lunged at her then and caught her arm in his jaws, puncturing deep into her flesh. She screamed in agony and used whatever she could to make him let go of her, while he was shaking her arm in his mouth. She managed to jab his eye with her fingernail and he released her, letting out a slight whimper and covering his eyes.
Olivia grabber her arm with her uninjured hand and held her injured arm to her chest. She had tears welding up in her eyes from the overwhelming pain that her arm brought. Not only did Alcatraz shred her arm, he had broken it through the tossing her about. She franticly looked around for Jacob and she still could not see him. She sneaked around Alcatraz to the lakeside where he had knocked Jacob into. She found him, and he was definitely out cold. He also had a gash on his chest from where Alcatraz had knocked him. She knew they were both screwed if she didn’t get them out of their quick as she knew that once Alcatraz regained his train of thought, he would go after her and her brother. She really had no options and neither her nor Jacob could swim in the condition they were in, nor could they run. At this point, Olivia was starting to lose hope and thought that this was the end for her and her brother.
She could see that Alcatraz regained his thoughts and was glaring in her direction. She prepared for the worst as Alcatraz lunged at her. She closed her eyes and covered her face, expecting to feel fangs sink into her skin. When she did not feel this, she opened her eyes to see no one. Alcatraz was gone and there was no one around. She smelled the air, but there was no smell other than hers, her brothers and Alcatraz. Olivia felt faint, but she knew it still wasn’t safe to lose consciousness now as she didn’t know what happened to Alcatraz or where he was. Olivia felt her adrenaline kick in again and she grabbed her brother and started to drag him back onto the trail. She then tried to use her magic to see if she could get a hold of anyone at home to come help her. She didn’t care who heard her as long as someone did.
“Someone help me!” she said.
She knew she was going to have to wait to see if anyone heard her call, so she tried to find something to bind her damaged arm to her body. She found some vines and bark, so she made a sling out of them. She then searched for something she could use to get her brother some water. She found some leaves that would do the trick. She used the leaf to transfer water from the lake to her brother. The first one she used to see if she could wake him, which worked as he started to stir. She went back to the water to get more water for him to drink. When she got back to him, his eyes were open, but he was still lying down, looking up at her. She fed him the water before allowing him to say a singe word.
“You look like shit,” he groaned.
“Same to you,” she sighed, “I’m trying not to pass out.”
“I wouldn’t blame you,” he coughed, “Where’s Alcatraz?”
“I don’t know, one second he was lunging at us and the next, he was gone. Funny thing is, there was no other smell other than his and ours,” she answered, trying to keep her eyes open.
“Maybe your magic teleported him somewhere?”
“Maybe.”
After a few more minutes, the two of them heard more twigs snapping. They both braced themselves, for fear of it being Alcatraz, but then let out a sigh of relief when Shane, Alex, Raska and Tessmere came into view.
“Thank god!” Jacob said.
“What the hell happened?” Raska asked.
“Alcatraz happened,” Olivia groaned.
“Seriously?” Shane said.
“Seriously,” Olivia confirmed.
Tessmere and Raska carefully lifted Jacob and started carrying him up the trail to where Raska had a car parked. Alex and Shane helped Olivia to her feet, but as soon as she was up, she collapsed back down onto the ground. Confused, Olivia looked herself over and then realized that her ankle was twisted the wrong way. Frustrated, she knew she had to go back to the hospital for a fourth time. She was trying to avoid going to the hospital, but clearly that wasn’t going to happen, for Jacob anyway.
“Jacob needs to go to the ER. Snap my ankle and arm back and it will heal on its own. I’ll switch to wolf form until they’re healed. I refuse to go back to the hospital again,” she growled in frustration.
“Fine, but it’s going to hurt like a bitch,” Shane warned.
“I don’t care, anything is better than going back to the hospital again!” she snapped.
Olivia found a thick stick nearby and put it into her mouth while Shane snapped her ankle back in place, causing Olivia to tear up. Shane waited a moment and then he snapped her arm back in place. Immediately following that, Olivia shifted to wolf form and passed out.
