Deicide Learning In A Psychiatric Hospital - CH 6
Outside the old town…
The man who had just installed the [Forbidden Ruin] sat beside the sign. He shook his head helplessly, looking back at the other half of the old town still like a painting. Then, he took out his phone from his pocket and played games to pass the time.
“Brother, why are you sitting here in the middle of the night and playing with your phone? Aren’t you afraid of catching a cold?” Not long after, a pedestrian came over from the opposite direction. He was amused when he saw this scene.
The man raised his head and glanced at the pedestrian, then lowered his head and continued playing with his phone, “I have nothing to do, so I’m bored.”
The pedestrian smiled, took a cigarette from his pocket, and handed it to the man.
The man waved his hand sternly, “I don’t smoke during work hours.”
“Hey, you are squatting on the road and playing with your phone. Is that considered working?” The pedestrian joked.
“En.”
“Fine.” The pedestrian shrugged, stood up, and walked towards the street behind the man.
“Where are you going?” blurted the man.
“Home.”
“You can’t go home yet, at least not now.” The pedestrian raised his eyebrows, “What do you mean?”
“This road is blocked now, and you can go back when it clears.” The man pointed to the sign behind him.
The pedestrian followed his fingers and saw the sign placed inexplicably in the middle of the road. He was about to say something and saw a faint light flashing on the words “Do Not Enter”.
The pedestrian’s eyes became lifeless.
A few seconds later, he turned around stiffly and walked back step by step toward where he came from. His eyes reflected his lost and confused state.
The man did not seem to be surprised by this occurrence. As he was about to continue his game, another man’s voice sounded on the headset.
“Zhao Kongcheng!” When the voice sounded, the man sat up from the ground immediately. His leisure demeanor had long gone, being replaced by a stern and solemn expression!
“Yes! Captain, what happened?”
“Something went wrong. A Ghost-faced King was promoted from this batch of the Ghost-faced Creatures. While we were besieging the other Ghost-faced Creatures, Hong Ying was seriously injured. The Ghost-faced King escaped from the Forbidden Ruin through the sewers. “
“A Ghost-faced King?” Zhao Kongcheng’s expression changed immediately, “Which direction did he flee? I’m going to intercept him!
“No, Kongcheng, you’re not specialized in combat. You can’t defeat the Ghost-faced King. Let me handle it.” Zhao Kongcheng was stunned, “Then I…”
“After the Ghost-faced King escaped, two Ghost-faced Creatures took the opportunity to escape into the sewer. We’re cleaning up the remaining Ghost-faced Creatures, and we are short of an extra hand.”
“In which direction?”
“Southeast.”
“Got it.”
Zhao Kongcheng’s eyes flashed. He darted to the other end of the street, got into a black van, slammed on the accelerator, and galloped away in a roar.
There was a neatly folded black and red cloak on his passenger seat.
There was a sheathed saber in it!
…
“Alrighty, I’m heading this way. See you.” Wang Shao stopped and turned to the four people behind him.
At this moment, Li Yifei recalled something and said, “Wang Shao, if I remember correctly, isn’t your home next to the old town?
“Yeah, what’s wrong?”
“Nothing, be careful on your way back.” The corners of Wang Shao’s mouth twitched slightly, and he rolled his eyes, “If you have something to say, don’t hold back. You’re making me uncomfortable.”
Li Yifei hesitated for a moment, “I heard that the old town has not been peaceful recently. There’s a twisted murderer!
“Twisted murderer? Are you serious!?” Jiang Qian doubted.
“Of course, it’s true!” Li Yifei looked around and lowered his voice, “You may not know about this. A dozen people have died in the old city in the past few days.”
“A dozen people? Impossible. If something this big has happened, the news would have broadcasted it long ago.” Wang Shao shook his head.
“Hey, why is it impossible? Hear me out. This happened so strangely. Some of the higher-ups cover the news. I wouldn’t know if my dad isn’t working at the police station.”
“Strange? How is it so?”
“It is said that…” Li Yifei paused, then lowered his voice a little.
“It is said that those who died had their entire faces peeled off, leaving only a mass of bloody flesh and protruding eyes on their faces. The methods were brutal!”
The cool night breeze came. When the students heard this sentence, several of them felt chills creep from the soles of their feet to the top of their heads!
“Li Yifei! Are you sick? Don’t talk about this at night!” Jiang Qian looked pale and subconsciously looked around the silent street. She complained in annoyance.
Their location was close to the old city and was categorized as a remote area of Cangnan City. It was almost 10 o’clock after the evening self-study period. As they left the school, they did not even see a single pedestrian on the road. It was a little scary after Li Yifei narrated it.
Not only her, but even the two boys, Wang Shao and Liu Yuan, were a little scared. Wang Shao glanced at the narrow path he was about to walk in and became restless.
If Li Yifei’s words scared the group, then what Lin Qiye said was like a jolt to their brains!
Lin Qiye thought for a moment, then said quietly, “Are you sure these things are done by humans?”
“Qiye, you…” Jiang Qian’s delicate body trembled!
The corners of Wang Shao and Liu Yuan’s mouths twitched slightly, and they looked at Lin Qiye in bewilderment.
Oh my God, Lin Qiye, I can’t believe you are hiding this part of your personality so deeply.
Li Yifei looked at Lin Qiye in surprise, “You think so too?”
“Shut up, shut up, shut up!” Jiang Qian could not take it anymore. She reached on and pinched Li Yifei’s arm hard, causing the victim to cry out in pain on the spot.
“Don’t tell ghost stories in the middle of the night! I have to go home in a while!”
Li Yifei tightened his shoulder, grinned in pain, hid aside, and complained softly, “This is not a ghost story…”
Wang Shao shrugged, “I’m not going to continue the nonsense with you, I don’t believe in these ghosts and monsters anyway, so I’m leaving.”
Wang Shao’s figure gradually disappeared into the narrow alley.
Jiang Qian glared at Li Yifei again, took a few steps forward, and stopped suddenly.
She sniffed, frowning slightly,
Her eyes reflected hints of doubts.
She turned her head and said, “Did you smell it?”
“What?”
“It’s that kind of stench of something rotting.”
“I didn’t smell anything. How about you, Liu Yuan?”
“I didn’t… *Eugh*!” Before Liu Yuan and Li Yifei finished speaking, their expressions suddenly changed. They covered their noses immediately and looked around in horror.
Lin Qiye was about to say something when a disgusting stench suddenly poured into his nostrils. It was like throwing a piece of rotten meat into the septic tank for more than ten days. Then, the atrocity was mixed with expired eggs. A single sniff of it would evoke the gastric juices to tumble violently.
This was the worst smell Lin Qiye had ever encountered in his life.
As for Jiang Qian, who had the most sensitive nose, she squatted down and puked.
“Damn, what’s so stinky?!” Li Yifei shouted while covering his nose.
“I don’t know.” Lin Qiye frowned slightly. After a while, he pointed to the alley where Wang Shao entered.
“But judging from the direction in which the smell is spreading, it seems like it’s coming from there.” At the next moment, a miserable scream came from not far away, echoing in the silent night sky.
