DEMON KING ASCENSION SYSTEM - Chapter 255 - 255 Cyra’s New Ability (1)
255 Cyra’s New Ability (1)
Dodging several blobs of acidic venom, Blake easily flew over the huge body of the demonic snake in front of him as he gained some distance away from the snake by flying upward.
It was already his third time meeting the huge demonic snake while he was in the main continent of the demon realm. The first one was when he, Robus, and Cyra made their way over to the second base of the second realm humanoid demon from the first base, the second one when the group had just gone out of the nether rich zone, and this was the third time that the group had encountered it.
Right after the whole group had evolved, except for Vera of course, the group didn’t spend a single minute dilly-dallying as they quickly made their way over to the middle of the main continent of the first demon realm.
Vera guided their way over there since she had gone there once, but even if Vera didn’t tell them the way, Robus, Cyra, and Blake already knew which direction they needed to go since their bodies, or probably their souls, already told them the direction they needed to go to the next realm right after they finished their evolution.
The evolved demons had an innate instinct to go to the gate that led to the second realm since their bodies couldn’t be sustained anymore by the nether in the first demon realm. The quality was that much poorer and they couldn’t stay in the first demon realm for so long.
But for now though, since their bodies were still in the process of changing, they could still live, walk, and even fight properly albeit they were in the first demon realm.
When they met the second huge snake in the wilderness of the main continent, Robus quickly welcomed it with his huge fist and his dark earth spear next, skewering the giant snake that took them some time before to defeat, in just under half a minute.
Each of Robus’ swings of his dark earth spear was enough to put deep laceration wounds on the snake’s body and with that information, Robus made a bigger spear using his dark earth armory skill.
With his evolution, not only his strength increased but also his intelligence. His mind could now come up with ways to kill his enemies other than choking them, breaking their skulls with his fist, or simply crushing them in his palms.
…..
Using the bigger spear, one that was as big as himself, Robus leaped high above the giant snake’s head, then by using good old gravity, and, of course, his monstrous power, Robus stabbed the spear right in the middle of the snake’s skull from above.
With the added might of his strength and the sheer size of the spear made out of heavy material, the giant snake’s skull couldn’t even put up a fight as the dark earth spear pierced through it like a knife through butter.
Killing the snake instantly as it got a hole in its brain.
And because of that very quick kill, right now, when the group encountered their third snake, Robus was barred from fighting the snake as Blake and Cyra also wanted to test out their new skills.
Particularly Cyra, who had also got a new ability ever since her evolution. She didn’t get to explore her new abilities after her evolution since there weren’t any enemies that were challenging enough for her to try it on, but fortunately, Cyra seemed to be loved by the nether so much, that she literally found out what her new abilities were without having to discover it on her own like Robus did when fighting the horde of demonic bison.
“Give it a try, Cyra!” Blake said as he made sure that he got a proper distance between himself and the giant snake.
He had played around with his own abilities with the snake, even using Robus’ upgraded bloodline power as his own since his evolved bloodline power also enabled him to use Robus’ evolved bloodline power and created a throwing javelin to throw at the snake and caught its attention while Cyra prepared herself to try her new power.
The dark earth javelin in Blake’s hand was no inferior quality than the spear that Robus made since when it comes to nether handling and making a picture in his mind, Blake was second to none with his innate ability to control nether as if it was his own limbs and his photographic memory.
However, when it comes to firepower, Robus’ still toppled over Blake’s creation since the difference in size between the two was so massive that Blake wasn’t able to bridge the gap in the mass of his dark earth armory with Robus’.
Fortunately, it was still sharp enough to cause a non-negligible wound to the snake and got it to chase after him while Robus and Vera stayed away to make sure that the snake didn’t get its eyes wary on the towering gorilla about the same size as itself.
“Thank you, brother! I will take care of it in one blow with your and sister’s spell!” Cyra shouted as she poured a massive amount of nether into a floating ball of dark flame beside her.
The ball swallowed up the fiery nether that Cyra sent into it as if there was no tomorrow, eating every single drop even though the amount of fiery nether that Cyra put into it was about three-quarters the amount of nether that Blake used to cast a second realm darkness spell.
After Cyra stopped supplying the floating ball with nether, the floating ball then shone, similar to when a set of runes were shining and about to manifest the spell within it.
Right after the ball stopped shining, an abundant amount of nether began to gather themselves right under the snake’s head as it noticed that there was no way for it to chase after the flying Blake and changed its target to the closest demon, which was Cyra.
Unfortunately for the giant snake, before it could even start slithering toward Cyra, the abundant nether that gathered beneath it started manifesting the spell that it was meant to construct.
Starting from becoming a pond of dark flame in the first second, the massive amount of dark flame abruptly erupted upward in the next split second as a 15 meters tall dark flame pillar manifested right under the snake’s head, burning the whole head, eyes, nose, scales, muscles, and bones included.
The pillar of dark flame did its job so quickly burning the snake’s head as the snake couldn’t even writhe in pain when all the scales became charred and the inside of its brain was cooked to well-done in just a split second.
The dark flame pillar continued existing in the same position, continuing to roast the snake as the scales had started to fall off the snake’s body, revealing the black burnt meat of the snake.
If given enough time, the dark flame pillar would certainly be able to erase the remains of the snake up until its bones, but the dark flame pillar finally ceased to exist right after 3 whole seconds of burning everything contained inside it.
And now, only the remains of the dark flame that had spread onto the neck part of the snake had continued existing and continued burning the rest of the snake’s body slowly while the majority of the dark flame had just disappeared into the surroundings.
“Nice one, Cyra!” Blake said as he flew down from the sky and patted Cyra’s head.
Blake’s eyes were locked onto the ball of dark flame that continued floating beside Cyra even after Cyra had used it to cast the flame pillar spell.
Cyra had explained how her new ability worked to him, but Blake couldn’t just simply stare in awe at it as he looked with his own eyes at how capable the ability was.
Cyra’s ability was quite simple to explain. Simply speaking, she was now able to store one ability for herself to use without having to manually control her flames to make it happen.
Cyra had never understood drawing runes to use her flames since she could just wave her hand and dozens of fireballs would appear after that, but she was able to do that because of her own skill and competence in manipulating her nether.
It would be easy for Cyra to create flame blades, fireballs, and even a wall of fire with just her simply willing her flames to do it. And it was one of the perks that she had as a variant.
However, when it comes to complicated spells, one that just couldn’t be simply executed by gathering enough nether and shaping them a little, Cyra would find it rather complicated to do since she needed to do all that manually.
Blake had never had this problem since the runes that he drew did all the complicated nether manipulation he needed, enabling him to cast a complicated spell such as the mass marking spell and the myriad of darkness tendril spell to only target those who had his mark.
But for Cyra to be able to do the same thing, it would take a lot of her mental prowess to do that.
