DEMON KING ASCENSION SYSTEM - Chapter 261 - 261 Teleported?
261 Teleported?
“Throw it up high!” Vera said as she double-checked and made sure that all flashes of lights had really hit their designated targets and that her set up for the next spell that was about to manifest was ready.
Right after the steel cube left Blake’s hand and flew up above their heads, Vera once again powered the steel cube in her hands, making it produce one more flash of white light, shooting it outwards, straight into the flying steel cube.
The flying steel cube had eaten enough nether, an abundant amount of them actually, that it was more than ready to manifest the spell contained inside it.
However, the steel cube still hadn’t released the spell yet since Vera was the one who made it that way. In order for the steel cube to be able to manifest the spell inscribed to it, it needed an auxiliary component.
And the single flash of light that Vera had just sent to it was the last missing piece that was needed by the flying steel cube to do it.
The moment the single flash of light made contact with the flying steel cube, all the nether that had been contained inside the flying steel cube flashed outward, causing a blinding flash of light to hinder everyone’s view, even including the hundreds of humanoid demons that circled around Blake and his group.
Blake still didn’t know what Vera was up to or what kind of spell she wanted to cast since the runes in the rune formations were mostly unknown runes for him, with several of them he recognized as space-elemental runes.
He recognized those runes since he had seen them before when Vera cast her spatial spells, but knowing their shape and actually knowing what they did was a whole different thing. So when the steel cube finally manifested the spell contained inside it, the only clue that Blake had was that it had something to do with the space element.
‘Is it a teleportation spell that will bring us somewhere safe from those humanoid demons?’ Blake thought to himself as he squinted his eyes, doing his best to keep his eyes open while being too close to the blinding light that shone above him.
…..
Fortunately, Blake didn’t have to wait for long to see the effect of the spell inside the steel cube as the bright light that impeded his vision finally died down, enabling him to see his surroundings properly.
Seeing his front, back, left, and right, Blake noticed the absence of the hundreds of humanoid demons that were supposed to trap him and his group inside their encirclement.
‘Is it true? Is it a teleportation spell?’ But when Blake observed his surroundings better, Blake noticed that other than the fact that he was currently together with Robus, Cyra, and Vera, there were other 3 humanoid demons that stood some distance away from him.
“Vera? Are those the humanoid demons?” Blake finally asked out loud, giving up on trying to figure out Vera’s spell on his own.
“Yes. We don’t want our fight to be interrupted by annoying weaklings, correct?” Vera casually replied as if she was already preparing for these kinds of unexpected situations in the first place and was happy that her own preparations paid off well.
“Where are we, exactly?” Blake asked as he noticed the empty surroundings that looked very similar to the wilderness of the main continent, the place where he had been standing a few seconds ago.
“We are currently inside an isolated space. This is quite a similar one that I used to make the isolated space for my home back on the island. The only difference was this one wasn’t as subtle and intricate as the one back on the island.” n0𝑣𝓮𝑙𝐔𝗌𝕓.𝓬0𝓂
“A demon mage with space element affinity would definitely be able to easily find and break into this place and a good rune master that was sensitive to nether would probably be able to break apart the rune formation that created this place. It would be very dangerous for us if that were to happen.”
Vera’s lips then curled up into a smile. “Fortunately though, we’re in the first demon realm. Let alone a demon mage with space element affinity, even a decent rune master is nonexistent.”
“Well, I could teleport us out of there, but sooner, or later, we would need to go through them if we wanted to descend right? Why would we need to prolong the inevitable?”
“Moreover, for someone who made a very intricate illusion rune formation, I doubt that the guy would only make one trap for us.”
The smile on Vera’s face then turned to a grin as the tone of her voice rose in an excited manner. “When I forcefully brought him here, I’m afraid that all his hard work and preparations would, unfortunately, go to waste.”
Vera’s face did look a little saddened when she said the last words as if she empathized with the scrawny humanoid demon, but the quick chuckle afterward ruined her impression as she stared at the three humanoid demons standing in the distance.
“You’re a demon, Vera…” Blake muttered after swallowing a gulp of saliva.
For someone who had just gotten a lesson about his own lack of preparations as a rune master, seeing someone who had prepared even more than him had their preparations being destroyed in an instant by a single rune formation gave Blake the dread that something like that might happen to him one day.
“You’re saying something, Blake? I wasn’t quite paying attention earlier,” Vera asked after the expression on her face finally returned to neutral.
“Ah no, nothing, let’s finish this fight quickly. I couldn’t wait to cast the second realm spells endlessly like a simple darkness bullet spell.”
With Blake’s lead, the group then marched forward, ready to face the three humanoid demons who were seemingly standing still in confusion about what had just happened.
Particularly, the scrawny humanoid demon who had just found out that he was magically teleported somewhere else, away from all the rune formations that he had spent days completing in order to prepare for this fight.
“CURSE YOU!!!” The scrawny humanoid demon stomped hard on the ground, his fists trembling as he could barely contain his own body from rampaging everywhere.
