Demonborn - 10 IX
Lizzie slowly made her way through the crowd on the side of the road. Everyone seemed to be looking at something on the side of the road, so she decided to join and see what it was.
Within the center stood four people, dancing along to the intoxicating music from the speakers. Elizabeth looked and watched the performers until one of the girls caught her eye. She had long silver hair pulled up in a high pony tail, and her eyes were glowing baby blue. At the sight of the girl, Lizzie’s heart started pounding in her chest. She wanted to run and shield the girl from the rest of the world.
The final note rang as a chord of the three main singers, with one male doing an ending pose as the finished. He sound of the crowd was intoxicating and extremely loud, but for the first time in Elizabeth’s life, the noise didn’t bother her. As long as she was looking at the girl in front of her, everything in the world seemed to be okay again.

The sound of the usual yelling from her house caused her to let out a long sigh and continue her trek into the house. As she made it inside, she walked over to the couch and closed her eyes, then opened them when she heard the sound of a photo from a phone across the room. She finally noticed her brother across the room, typing on his phone furiously.
“Whatcha doing, Week?” Lizzie called over to her brother, who looked up and shook his head, before looking back down to his phone. Elizabeth let out a sigh and stared at the strange boy.
“You called me and told me to come here, what was it you needed?”
“Elizabeth!” A loud voice rang out through the house, causing her to jump and walk slowly towards her father’s office with Week silently trailing behind her.
She walked into the office and noticed her dad behind his desk looking extremely angry while her mom wouldn’t meet her gaze.
“Dad? What’s going on? Is everything okay?”
“Did I raise you to be a liar?” he said suddenly, causing the girl to tense up.
“What do you mean?” She asked, resulting in a slam of his hands on his desk and walked slowly around it towards his daughter.
“Did I stutter? Why would you keep the fact you knew where Rose was a secret?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
A loud slap sounded through the room before Lizzie registered the stinging pain in her cheek.
“You do know, and you took something that didn’t belong to you, didn’t you, Elizabeth?”
“Father, it’s okay, please just-” Week started.
“Do not interrupt me, son. I want you to have this girl here by tomorrow or so help me,” their father said. Week nodded in fear of his father as quickly walked back out of the room. The sound of crying and furniture breaking was left in his wake.
To My Rose❤️
You: I’m so sorry, Rose, I didn’t mean for it to go this far

I woke up and quietly stretched my aching limbs. I smelled something delicious and looked over at the plate next to my bed on the vanity. There was a note written with my name across the top. The scent of the paper hit my nose and I let out a little smile. It smelled of lavender, telling me exactly where this came from.
I took a careful bite and almost melted to the floor at the taste. It was way better than whatever I ate yesterday.
I opened the note to read it as I finished eating the rest of the food on my plate.
My sweet sister Rose,
I’m so glad you’re home, and as I’m writing this you’re sound asleep on your bed next to me. I never would have guessed you were so close yet so far away, and I’m so sorry for the loss of Elizabeth. If I had known, I would have helped Week to save her.
I wish I could be here with you today, but I have to go back to my promised and be with him and his family for a few days. I will be back soon and I’ll take care of you.
The only person who will be home with you today will be Week. If you have questions o need anything, he will be there to help you. Get to know him, for me.
Let’s close up the time that we were apart when I come back, okay?
With all my love,
Lavender
As I finished, I noticed that I had finished all the food and let out a groan. She mentioned promised, and I had heard that term a few times, but still remained confused as to its meaning. What was a promised?
I pushed down my curiosity and walked into the bathroom to get ready for the day. I had fallen asleep in my clothes from yesterday and I felt my hair sticking to me. As I let my clothes hit the ground in a trail behind me, I noticed all my clothes were brought up here. I shrugged and walked over to the shower and turned it on. As it warmed I looked at myself in the mirror.
My eyes weren’t glowing baby blue, instead were a soft silver color. My face was pale and I seemed to have a fever. The scars littering my body seemed to be glowing.
I quickly ran to the shower and stood under the stream of the water, and started thinking about Lizzie. Lavender said no one had heard from her in a few days. I figured it must have been because she had died in my arms, but didn’t voice it.
As the water started to cool, I jumped out of the shower clean and ready to face the day. I pulled out an oversized shirt and pair of black leggings from the closet before quickly slipping them on. I walked to the vanity in my room and started brushing out my hair. As I did, I heard a soft knock on the door.
I turned as it slowly opened and Week peeked inside.
“Would you like some help with all that hair, Rosie girl?” He asked, smirking as I glared at him. He walked over and grabbed the brush from my hands before I had a chance to answer, beginning to run it through my hair. I let him work and started thinking about promised again.
“Mind telling me what’s on your mind?” Week said, leaning into my field of vision and I snapped out of my trance, realizing the best way to learn was to ask someone who had learned this their entire life.
“Hey, Week, what’s a promised?”
