Demonborn - 14 XIII
I closed my eyes tight and waited for an impact that never came. Instead, a pair of arms wrapped themselves around me.
“Are you alright, my Rose?” a familiar voice said, I opened my eyes to the face of Lizzie, who was watching me with golden eyes that were glowing.
“Lizzie?” I asked and she nodded, looking up towards the top of the cliff.
“Hang on tight, we need to get back up to the top,” she said, gripping me tighter. As I wrapped my arms around her neck, she took a jump and landed safely at the top of the cliff. I looked at Week who looked extremely angry at Lizzie being here.
“Lizzie, I helped you get out of here, why didn’t you take your chance while you had it?” WEEK asked, glaring as he red eyes started glowing.
“I needed to save my Rose, Week. Something that you should have done in the first place when you said you knew where she was.”
The tension in the air was growing thicker by the second and Lizzie’s grip on me tightened. I tapped Lizzie and she put me down, walking towards Week. She was slightly shorter than him, so he bent his neck to look at her. They were both letting out audible growls and looked ready to fight each other, so I quickly went between them and pushed them apart.
“Both of you, cut it out. There’s no need for this!” I shouted, hoping to get to one of them, but I felt a pull and I landed against someone.
“But there is, Rosie girl. My sister was supposed to leave and I helped her get away. She took you from my grasp, now I want you back,” Week said, tilting my head up to meet his eyes as he spoke. His gaze softened when he looked at me, and a growl came from Lizzie, as she snatched me from him and held me close to her.
I quickly stepped away from them and they both looked at me, hurt and confusion clouded their eyes as they watched me. I turned and walked back into the house and ran up the stairs into my room, pausing at the door. They reached the top of the stairs as I slammed the door shut behind me.
I sat with my back to the door and listened to the arguing of the two as tears started swirling in my vision. I wanted to leave, and Lizzie must have known that, yet she brought me back here. I felt so alone, hurt, and confused.
I don’t know how long I was there before a knock came at the door.
“Rose? Can I come in, love?” I heard from Lizzie, but I just sat silently against the door, willing them both to leave me alone. A sigh broke through the silence and footsteps moved away from the door.
“Just gonna ignore us goth, Rosie girl?” I heard from across the room. I looked towards the window and saw Week climbing in. I jumped up from my spot and tried to walk into the bathroom.
I felt a hand wrap around my wrist and pull me back. Week wrapped his arms around me and rested his cheek on my head. I just stood there, waiting for him to move away, but he didn’t. He stood there with us like that for a while. Then he released one arm and moved my arms so that they were wrapped around him. I started to pull away, but he just held me tighter. After a while, he finally let me go before picking me up and setting me in the chair in front of the vanity. The sun had started to set as he started to undo my hair.
I tried to get up, but he pushed me back down into the chair and went back to work with every attempt. Eventually, I gave in and let him work on whatever he was doing. He let out a chuckle at my giving up and started brushing out my hair.
“I know you’re upset with us, Rose, but Lizzie’s back here now. At least let her explain what happened-”
“No.”
“Rose-”
“Just stop.”
I heard him sigh.
“Rose, please just try to see her side-”
“I said no!” I shouted, and suddenly, a wave of flames shot from me, hitting Week and throwing him back into the wall across the room. I wanted it to stop, but they got more and more intense every time they shot out. Fear crept into my heart and tears fell down as I tried to push it all down. I tried to push the power back into the cage it stayed in, but I couldn’t.
Week somehow made it back to me and tilted my head up to him before pressing his lips to mine.

Rose began to glow and she felt terrified of it. Levi and Angelina has just made her really upset, so she ran out to the lake to calm herself. The longer she sat out there, the more she began to glow.
“Rose, is everything-” Levi’s voice was suddenly cut off by a blast of power that threw him back into the waters of the lake below them. He hit the water and all the air came rushing out as he swam back to the surface and ran up the bank and back towards Rose. She started to glow brighter by the second and the fear in her eyes was so bright, it almost terrified him into running home, but he knew better.
“Rose, it’s me, it’s Levi. I need you to calm down.”
“I can’t!” She shouted and another blast pushed Levi back into the water below. He tried to talk to her a few times and ended back in the water every time he did.
At the fourth time, he skipped talking to her and wrapped his arms around her body. The glowing died down.
“Imagine stuffing all that scary stuff down in the cage inside you, Rose. Imagine locking it away and throwing away the key so it won’t hurt you anymore, okay? You’re gonna be okay, Rose. I’m here,” Levi said, watching her glow die down lower in her skin. Her eyes were glowing brightly silver as she smiled, proud of herself.
“I did it, Levi! I stopped it from hurting you again!” She shouted and Levi smiled at her.
“Just remember, Rose. That won’t work every time. What you just did is only a temporary fix for the power inside you. One day, you’ll have to learn to actually control that storm inside you, okay?”
“Okay, Levi! I will learn, promise!”
