I sighed and looked out the window. Week had been missing since our talk a few days ago. Part of me wished for him to be back, but the logical and reasonable part pushed that away. I was in love with Lizzie, and I always would be, but I needed to remember she pushed me away.
Week stole me from my home. Lizzie fakes her death in order to leave without breaking up with me. Week pushed himself onto me and kissed me. Lizzie broke my heart after I hurt Week. Week gave me space that I wanted. Lizzie left to go find her promised. Week said he would take me home. Lizzie is distant and rude to me over messages. Week was kind and pushed me away instead of the other way around. Lizzie isn’t coming back. Week left to god knows where.
Lizzie broke my heart.
I stared out my window into the looming forest surrounding the house. As I watched, something changed outside my window. A tunnel appeared in front of the house and out walked Week. He looked rough and like he hadn’t slept in a while. His eyes were silver and he looked deep in thought.
I smiled and backed away from the window, finally finishing packing up some pictures and clothes that were bought for me. I heard a light knock not long after and Week walked in. He took one look at me trying to lift up the box and walked over, grabbing the box from me and shaking his head. His eyes were a light blue instead of silver like I had last seen him have.
We made it down to the ground level and I noticed that Week hadn’t said a word since he got here. He set down the box and pointed to Orion’s office before walking over and entering. I waited and heard my phone continuously sound as the messages started rolling through.
[Heavenly Group Chat]
To you, My Angel, Elizabeth, Gay Boi, Fudge bar dealer
My Angel: Can we have a party to celebrate Rosie coming home?
Fudge bar dealer: We can do anything you want to do, Angel
Gay Boi: Movie night party?
You: Hell yeah
Elizabeth: Not coming
I bit my lip as I read Lizzie’s text. That hurt, like ripping off a bandaid on an already open wound.
Fudge bar dealer: Don’t be such a bitch
Elizabeth: I’ll be however I want to be
Gay Boi: Just drop it, Kai
Fudge bar dealer: No, she’s being awful to one of my girls!
You: Your girls? ????
Fudge bar dealer: Yes, you’re my girls
Elizabeth: I’ll act however I want to whoever I want whenever I want.
Gay Boi: No, you won’t.
Gay Boi: And you will NOT be like this to us
Gay Boi: I’ll come hunt your ass down and kill you if you do
Gay Boi: Got it?
Elizabeth: ????
My Angel: Can I possibly message without someone sending a message? ????
Gay Boi: No
Fudge bar dealer: Yes.
I laughed at the group as I read the bickering between Levi and Kai. I felt happy that Kai would stick up for me, it was strange.
Week walked out then and looked at me in the eyes, searching for something in them. Seemingly satisfied, he picked up the box and motioned me to open the door. I ran out and watched as he opened a tunnel through the forest by snapping his fingers. He started walking and turned as he realized I wasn’t following him. I quietly ran after him and we walked through until the end. I paused and he turned to me just before stepping through. He nodded and stepped through. I followed him after a few minutes and we ended up in my room.
He set the box down and nodded at me, heading back for the hole in my room, I grabbed the end of his sleeve and he stopped, slowly turning towards me.
“Why haven’t you spoken to me?” I asked, pulling my hand away and fidgeting with my fingers. He smiled and turned back to me before speaking.
“I was accepting defeat, Rose. If I try to talk to you, I’ll say something I’ll regret or I’ll beg you to come back. This is where you belong and where you want to be,” he said, sadness lacing his eyes as they turned to his signature red.
I nodded and pulled him into a hug before he could turn away. Week’s body tensed before he relaxed and hugged me back.
“Before I go, I’m going to give you back your power. Is that okay?” He asked, pulling away from me. I nodded and he watched closely and placed a light kiss on my forehead. A bright light formed and he began to speak. “Rose, I release you from my grasp. Your powers are yours to hold.”
I dropped to the floor and he turned away. Suddenly, visions started to attack me. I watched them all, and they all involved me, Levi, and Week. Tears started to fall down my eyes as I watched him walk away again. I then realized these weren’t just visions, they were memories, my memories.
He stepped through the hole and I ran after him and walked through, stopping at the entrance. I stopped and watched him keep walking farther from me.
“Week! Please come back! Don’t leave me again!” I said, running towards him. “If you leave me again, I’ll kill you!” As that left me, I grabbed him from behind and held on like my life depended on it. He froze and peeled my hands away from him before turning towards me.
“I’m sorry, Rosie girl, but this is goodbye. I’ll never bother you again,” he said as a gust of wind carried me back through. I landed on my ass and made a run for it again, just as I reached it, it disappeared. I sobbed out loud then and fell to my knees, letting the emotions take over.
Week was my first love, not Lizzie. Week pushed me away when I advanced, not the other way around. Week loved me, his love was less toxic than Lizzie’s. Week protected me from himself all through our lives, Lizzie was selfie and took what she wanted from me. Week saved me when I attempted suicide, Lizzie didn’t pay attention to my cries. They both had one thing in common, though.
They both left me alone in a world that hated what I was and wanted to kill people like me.
I was different, I didn’t fit in this world and the other world I was introduced to didn’t want me either.
That’s the moment I decided, I was going to make a place for myself. As soon as I made that fatal decision for my life, a loud crash sounded though my apartment and magic assaulted me.
