Demonborn - 5 IV
It had weeks before Unknown’s words came back to me. The creepy texts had stopped since I had chosen to be with my friends instead of kick them out. The sweat began to drip down my body as Angel worked my muscles to death with a highly complex routine that she wanted to perform for our concert in a few weeks.
It had been a few days since anyone had heard from Lizzie, but that was normal for her. She liked to disappear for a while at a time but she always came back in one piece.
I hit the final pose and smiled at my reflection in the practice room. Today was just me and Angel in the room as she wanted us to do the duet I had written a few days ago.
“That was good, Rosie! Remember to sway a little more to the left when you do the kick though, or you’ll lose your balance,” she added and showed me the move again, which I mimicked to my best ability.
As we began to run it agin, my phone started going off again. The ominous ringtone that Unknown had somehow made their own echoed through the room. I pushed it off and tried to keep up with Angel’s quick and precise movements.
The sound kept getting more repetitive as I continued through the routine and ignored it’s screams. As we landed the last movement, my phone started ringing with the song “Hollaback Girl,” which was Levi’s ringtone.
Angel nodded at me, giving me permission to answer. She walked over to her bag and drank her water, picking up her phone after she had gotten her fill.
“Hey, Levi, what’s cracking?” I said, jokingly.
“Rose, I think you may want to sit down for this one,” Levi said, his tone deep and caused me to immediately listen to him.
“Okay, I’m listening. What’s going on?” I said, holding my breath as Angel looked up from her phone at me with widened eyes and she slowly made her way over to me.
“Rose, it’s Lizzie. Something happened to her and she’s in the hospital now. They don’t know if she’s going to live,” he said, as Angel wrapped her arms around me.
I dropped my phone and my body trembled as I let out a scream. I screamed for my Lizzie, who was alone and none of us suspected anything. I stood up, leaving Angel in a heap on the floor and grabbed my stuff. I didn’t bother throwing my shirt on over myself and picked up my phone, running to the doors to the record company. I got the details from Levi and ran as fast as my body could carry me.
I reached the hospital and started running towards her room, only to be held back by nurses and doctors. I screamed Elizabeth’s name, calling for her and heard her weak voice call my name.
I finally broke through the line and walked to her room, placing my forehead to the door and letting myself in. I looked at her and she was broken. She reminded me of a doll the way her hair was splayed on the pillows. Her eyes were glassy and distant, as if she wasn’t seeing me in front of her.
She weakly smiled at me as I ran to her bedside and grabbed her hand. With her free hand, she cupped my cheek and I leaned into her palm. Tears began to fall as I looked at her.
“Don’t cry, Rose. I’m here,” she said and wiped my tears. She tugged me towards her, silently asking for me to curl up with her.
I climbed onto the bed and put Lizzie on my lap, with her head held to my chest. I quietly ran my fingers through her hair as she quietly began to sob into me.
“Rose, remember when we first met?” She questioned me between sobs in her first language, French.
“Of course I do,” I answered back, “I was always so nervous when I saw you that I could barely talk when you were around. Then you asked to join us in Heavenly when you saw us do a street performance.”
She giggled at that. “I remember being so scared you would turn me away, you were like a goddess to me, so untouchable and gorgeous. Above the world.”
“Then when you first asked me out, I thought my heard had stopped, Lizzie.”
“Mine practically did when you said yes,” she laughed.
We sat in silence for a little bit after that. Her breathing began to slow and I just watched her cling to me.
“Rose, I love you,” she whispered and my heart dropped. This was the first time she had ever said that to me, yet here I was about to lose her.
I leaned down and placed a light kiss to her lips and whispered to her that it would all be okay.
“Rose, am I going to die?” She asked. Her green eyes found mine and watched me. I gulped and nodded. She let out a light whimper at my nod and held on tighter.
I reached and gripped her hands in mine. “Lizzie, I love you, never forget that. I’ll always love you.”
She looked up at me and smiled as her eyes started slipping closed. One loud and long noise from her heart machine sounded into the room and her grip on me loosened and fell from me.
I let out a scream. I held her closer to me and kissed her forehead before being pushed out of the room by hospital staff. I rushed to my house and threw open the door. I walked into my room and froze. Someone had been here.
Recently too.
I noticed a few of my things had moved around my room onto different places. I decided this was a good time to check my messages from unknown.

Unknown: I have your precious Lizzie, Rosie girl
Unknown: Oops, now I don’t
Unknown: Shit, Rose, answer me now.
Unknown: I’m so sorry, Rose, I didn’t mean for it to go this far
Unknown: Rosie girl, you need to answer me. Right. Now.

Unknown: I’m sorry about Lizzie, Rosie girl
Unknown: I didn’t mean for that to happen
You: Who the hell are you?
Unknown: I deserve that, and I deserve your mistrust
Unknown: And your hatred
You: Hatred is an understatement
You: You hurt what was mine.
You: Now, I’m going to rip you apart and kill you.
You: Mark my words, I will find out who you are
Unknown: Really? You’ll get me?
You: Yes, I will
Unknown: It’s more like, I have you, Rosie girl
I stared at the message in confusion then felt a cloth go to my face and an arm around my waist, holding my arms down. I tried not to breathe in, but I couldn’t help it. The world got fuzzy as I saw a man with long black hair and glowing red eyes.
