Demonborn - 7 VI
Rose began to hide as the numbers from Levi’s mouth kept growing higher. Finally getting settled into her position by the lake, she jumped as Levi yelled and ran towards the house. She let out a small giggle then a small yelp and someone reached behind her and tickled her sides.
“Week!” She yelled and hugged the older boy behind her. The boy was about two years older than her and still had begun to tower over her. He had black hair that seemed to have just cut and red eyes that glowed in amusement at her.
“Hey, Rosie girl,” he said, laughing and spinning her in the air. She immediately shushed the boy, knowing if Levi saw him that they would get into another fight.
“I missed you,” she said and hugged his torso. Week smiled and wrapped his arms over her shoulders. The small girl then smiled up at him, hitting and effectively hurting his heart.
“Rose, I actually came to say goodbye,” he said, looking down at her. Tears started to form in Rose’s eyes.
“But… but you just got back!” She shouted, gripping his shirt in her fists, “That isn’t fair, Week!”
“I know, Rosie girl, but it needs to be done, meaning you need to forget about me, because I won’t be coming back,” Week said, pulling her to him. It hurt him to say it, but it had to be done. He needed to protect his Rose, always. This was the best way before the entire family found out his betrayal.
“But… but that’s not fair, Week!” She shouted, bunching his shirt into her tiny fists. “Do I even get a say in anything you do? What if I don’t forget, what then?” She asked, tears forming in her eyes.
Week shook his head at the small girl in his arms. “I wish I could stay, Rosie girl. I really do, but I can’t anymore, and it’s time for your memories of me and our time together to disappear,” he said, kissing her forehead.
As he pulled away, a bright light started shining from the girl and she fell to her knees. It surrounded and engulfed the girl, then slowly died out. Her eyes glowed a soft silver and remained blank in his presence. He bent down to the broken girl and sighed.
He would miss the brightness of her eyes and her smile that lit up the room and any space around her for miles.
“Rose of the demons, I command you forget all you remember of the boy named Week. I ask you learn to love again one day when the time is right. I will come back for you when all if safe, my love, and I will protect you like you deserve. Goodbye, Rosie girl,” he whispered before kissing her forehead and running into the darkness of the forest surrounding him, and as he left, a single tear fell down Rose’s face as her memories slowly melted away from her.

“Hey, Rose,” Levi called as he noticed her on a rock that oversaw the lake. The girl was staring out at the water, her eyes blank and searching.
“Levi, have you ever been so in love with someone, yet not remember who they were?” Rose asked suddenly as the boy lowered himself down next to her.
“Is this about Week, Rose?” He asked and stared out at the water with her, searching for whatever had caught her eye.
“Who is Week, Levi? Is he the boy that invades my dreams at night?”
Levi truly looked at her then and noticed how confused she looked. The faraway look continued in her eyes as the blue shone through over the silver.
“Some part of me longs for a face that I no longer place in my memories. The boy who haunts my dreams, the boy who fights you at every turn, the boy who has not returned my love, and yet I wish for that boy who has no place in this world as he never would chose me, would he?” She rambled, turning those sad eyes towards Levi, in an attempt to calm her aching heart.
Levi turned himself away from her watchful eyes and back to the lake. The crystal blue of its waters was water from the depths of heaven, the kingdom of angels, the place he longed to be.
“Rose, I’m so sorry, but you do not love the boy, you are only fourteen and no not yet of what love is to you. Please, stay here with me as my sister and best friends as you have. One day, I’ll erase all your heartache,” he said, reaching over and grabbing her hand, holding it trying to erase the girl’s troubles.
“How would you plan to do that, Levi? You are an angel and I a demon, There is no hop for me, yet there is some for you.”
“When I finally get into heaven, I will plead for you to join me in it, as to erase all your troubles and I will have you become an angel and stay by my side. We’ll find you an angel man to love and cherish you one day, and I will find a man to love me through all my faults. We’ll be together like we want to be, Rose, I promise.”
“Do not promise that which you can’t keep, Levi,” she warned and turned her body toward him. As she did, she held her pinky up and watched him.
Levi turned to her and wrapped his pinky around hers, “I promise on my life, my sweet best friend Rose, that I will keep my promise, now and on forever until my death so ends the promise we have made here.”
She smiled and him and leaned onto his shoulder, and he let her doze off as her mind fell into ease.
As Angelina searched for the two under her care, she felt utter worry at their sudden disappearance. She had sent Levi out to get Rose and bring her home. The boy had a boy here waiting for him so he could go out tonight. As she made her way to the lake, she spotted the two. Rose and Levi had both dozed off on the rock across the lake from where she stood, as to not disturb the beautiful scene of the two getting along again after something had happened to Rose, she left them and sent the boy on his way back home.
She traveled back out to the lake and watched the two play in its sparkling waters. As she did she felt a boy appear next to her. She looked over to see the black haired boy watching the pair by the water. His red eyes were trained on Rose.
“How has she been doing, Angelina?” He asked looking at the old lady in question. He knew she was a mute, but she could always project answers into his head.
“She has been off, Week. Her heart longs for your presence, yet you have all but disappeared from her mind. She keeps searching for who you are, but has found no answers to it,” she stared and let him know. He had been coming by daily to check on the girl.
He nodded at the woman next to him and turned back to the girl. She had a single white Rose in her hands as she walked back to sit on the rock and admire the view.
“They are getting more curious around my mind, Angelina. I have to erase her from my mind as well now so they know nothing of how I took her away and where to find her,” he replied, watching Rose for the last time in his life.
“I knew they would look for her one day, and you would one day have to leave her like this. Just remember, Week, you did save her. You brought her to me and saved her from the pain of those people when she was a baby. She will be fine here, Levi and I have protected her up until now and will continue to do so until it is time for her to leave us and return with you.”
