Demons And Goddesses - Volume 3 Chapter 1
(Part 1)
BEFORE we follow Hwe-thian Mo-lis journey to the south in searching for her great enemy in the Sin-tok-san mountains, let us first look at Ong Lian Hong, the beautiful and secretive dancer girl so we can get to know her better.
It was true that the girl who is disguised as a dancer and managed to kill Liok Kong was Ong Han Cus daughter. In the past, before Ong Han Cu discovered the swordsmans.h.i.+p stance at Mount Liong-cu-san and when he was young, one day he saw a group of n.o.ble family traveling, intercepted and beaten by dozens of ferocious robbers.
The guards of the n.o.ble family were overwhelmed by robbers led by a high-skilled robber. Not only did many of the guards who were killed and the property of the family began to be transported by the robbers subordinates, even the n.o.blemans pretty daughter had been raided by the leader of the robbers and was about to be taken away into the forest. The girl was struggling and screaming and this scream caught Ong Han Cus attention and made her run for help.
Great fighting took place between Ong Han Cu and the leader of the robbers, but finallly the leader of the robbers along with several of his subordinates were killed in the hands of this mighty young man. Seeing how the great and handsome young man had saved his familys lives, and even recovered the property that had been robbed, so the n.o.bleman of Ciok was amazed, touched and grateful.
Without realizing it, in front of his guards and servants, he then declared want to take Ong Han Cu as a his son-in-law, mated with his only daughter, the beautiful girl who was almost kidnapped by the leader of robbers, named Ciok Bwe Kim. Ong Han Cu was very happy because since meeting face to face with Ciok Bwe Kim, he had fallen in love with this beautiful girl. Instantly he dropped to his knees in front of his pre father-in-laws and expressed his grat.i.tude.
Only after returning to his secure residence, that was a large building inside the capital of the kingdom, Ciok-taijin (the n.o.bleman of She Ciok) who was ranked as a teetok, regretted his promise to Ong Han Cu. He was a high-ranking ruler and a descendant of n.o.bility, while the young man was handsome and great, but not a descendant of n.o.bility, not rich, nor a literary expert so he could not hold high rank.
But the promise has been spoken and many witnesses listened to this promise. After all, her daughter seemed to have liked the young warrior and he also felt dreadful to break his promise against Ong Han Cu.
So the marriage took place so simply. There was still great hope in the n.o.blemans heart to give guidance to his son-in-law to like to study writing so that in the future he could get a position that would elevate his degree. But what the results?
Ong Han Cu was a young man who since his childhood was educated in bravery and both of his parents were the famous martial art warriors among people, so of course he could not bear to sit behind the desk and exerted his brain to memorize the letters which was very difficult for him. He prefers to leave the house and cruise instead of confining himself in his room. Because of this, his father-in-laws efforts were futile and he often got reprimanded and angered by his father-in-law.
His wife, Ciok Bwe Kim, who saw how her father and mother were often angry, felt sad and very disappointed to see her husband, was forced to advise her husband to change his way of life and be able to adapt himself as a n.o.ble son-in-law. But even this was futile. The bravery nature in Ong Han Cus heart didnt allow him to act pretending and do things that didnt fit to his soul.
Thus, beside his beautiful wife in a large and luxurious building, and walking on a pile of treasures, Ong Han Cu didnt find the happiness in his household. He loved his wife so much, but the contradictions of character or habit of living made him feel as if he lived in h.e.l.l.
Especially after a year later his wife gave birth to a daughter. His father-in-law were increasingly disappointed and often expressed their disappointment in front of him. Ong Han Cu restrained his patience as much as possible, but the longer it became the heavier the feeling pressed on his heart. After his daughter aged of half-year-old, he declared to his wife to go wander to amuse himself and do the duty as a warrior and devote to the miserable people.
His father-in-law who heard of his intention became so angry and forbade him to leave. But Ong Han Cu insisted so that there was the first-time mouth quarreling.
Hiansai (son-in-law)! the n.o.bleman she Ciok rebuked angrily, Keep that in your mind! You are no longer a wild, free-lived young man again and can do anything outdoors, may live wildly and roughly rely on the sharpness of sword and hardness of your hands. You are a teetoks son-in-law, and remember that your father-in-laws name is on your shoulders anyway. If you play ruffians outside, and there are people who know you as my son-in-law, doesnt that mean youre going to mess and defame my name?
Gakhu! replied the angry Ong Han Cu, Remember that once gakhu (father-in-law) picked me up as son-in-law because Im good at playing sword. If not because of me who has been considered as a wild, abusive man by you, would the Ciok family still be expected to live again?
Hiansai, you are always digging things of the past. Your help in the past was a coincidence and it was also the fate of for you to marry my only daughter. However, you must obey me. Are you blind and unable to see that all my efforts are for your good? For the good of your wife and your daughter? If you become clever and occupy the hight position, who will be happy? You and your wife! Us, the old men, just also could feel happy about it!
