David Grayson is speaking to Mr. Arkin Reikenson on the phone;

“I’m sorry Sir that I need to come back in my country before the Grand Ball Night, I failed to date your stepdaughter in that night” David is so sorry

“Okay, I understand that you have important business to attend to.” Mr. Arkin’s booming voice

“Sir, I will come back after I graduated and stay there for me, and Faye will be engaging the soonest.” David convinced Mr. Arkin.

“Okay, I hope your father is well, and he is handling the business well in overseas, I hope he doesn’t fail my trust.” Mr. Arkin commented.

“Yes, Sir, he will not. My father is loyal to you.” David Grayson answer.

“All right then, I’ll be hanging up. I have an important charity meeting I need to attend.” Mr. Arkin ends the call.

Faye can’t believe what she sees in her bȧrė eyes, a huge banner showing his step-father name Mr.

Arkin Reikenson raising a charity event for the unfortunate people, her eyebrow raise.

“Really” she whispers in herself

Leigh sees Faye looking at the banner, and her thoughts occupy,

“What are you thinking? What is your step-father up to, a charity event that is not like your step-father? The head administrator of the University always turns down my charity fundraising event because the board ȧssociates don’t approve it, and that includes your step-father, so why suddenly?

There must be cooking something?” Leigh stated

“Yeah, for sure, and what pissed me off is it is a Racing Charity Event, they want to use the Racing Club for their purpose. I wonder what is there up to.” Faye continues thinking

“To think about it, David Grayson doesn’t show up in the Grand Ball Night despite him saying you and him are a destined date. I heard the flight overseas for important business, maybe his College, but your father is not reacting that you have Raven Hamilton as a date surprise me.” Czerene added up in the conversation.

“I don’t like how smart and snaky my step-father moves; he always portrays to the public that he is a kind and loving person. He made the public believe that he save my mother for being crazy and in her miserable states. He made people believe that he save our company from bringing bankrupt. I hate him; he always shows the good side of him in the eyes of everyone, funding charity events.” Faye’s voice is anxious.

“I don’t know; Raven is the club president. He is not calling us for a meeting yet, but he is with the Board Director Meeting.” Faye confirms

“Mr. Reikenson and Mr. Hamilton will be at the Board Director meeting that will be an awful sight to watch” Czerene sighs

“We are not graduating yet, but they are on the move showing their power, this might surprise Mr. Hamilton, do you think he will agree on the Charity event?” Leigh asks

“Maybe, we will never know. Let’s wait till the meeting ended,” Faye answers; still, she has a bad feeling about it.

After hours of waiting and as their classes ended, Raven come out of the room, his reaction is not right, he seems irritated.

Faye hesitates to greet him, but he sees her first, Raven tries to soften his face and speaks

“The Club will have a meeting. Let’s Go” Raven softly said

Faye follows Raven as they go to their club office; they are waiting for the arrival of their members.

Faye can sense something is off in Raven base on his reactions.

“They are all here Raven” Faye nudges him

Raven smiles at her and faces the members of their Club;

“I’m sorry if the meeting is late, but maybe the banner that is such a big place in the University stadium already attracts your attention,” Raven started.

“Yeah, we are confused when we read it, why it is sudden? The Grand Ball just held, and we are preparing for the exams and graduation.” Rafael buŧŧs in.

“Yes, I know you are all preparing for the final exams, and you are all tired from the Grand Ball Night that recently held, but the Board Committees request the Charity Event of the University. I try to suggest other ways to hold the Charity event not through us, not in racing events, but the Board decides to have voted, and the majority wins.” Raven’s face clearly shows his irritation.

“My best friend Leigh keeps suggesting charity event, but it keeps rejected by the Board Committees;

I can’t believe them suddenly wanting to have a Charity event to us. Faye outburst

“Well, sad to say its business World they wanted to teach us, and they say we will learn that from this event,” Raven says

“What do you mean?” one of the club members asks

“Yes” Raven face shows no emotion

Everyone gasps “I can’t believe them” one of the members voices his disgust

“Are they treating us their toy they can bait” another one is upset

“Bait is a way to attract sponsors to go and give their money to the Charity.” Raven casually says

“You agree with these? That’s nonsense, we all know they want to have fun and use us.” Rafael sighs

“I told you are a majority vote. I did my best to disagree; right now, we don’t have that power yet to contradict them. If you want to go against them, graduate, have the position of your father, and change this rotten system.” Raven said firmly; his face is serious.

The club members can’t do anything but sighs

“The race event will be tomorrow, tune your car. The racecourse is not familiar to us. It will be outside the University.” Raven continues

“You’re serious, we maybe love racing, but that course is for professionals.” Faye can’t help but buŧŧs in

Faye sighs, she can’t believe he can see Raven that hopeless and out of his league.

“I will talk to them,” Faye said

“What?” Raven asked in disbelief

“I’m the vice president of our Club, no one in our member’s race outside the University school course than the two of us. If they want to bait on someone and someone who will race in a professional course then gets a professional race car driver, and in this Club, it’s only us.” Faye said frustrated

“No way, you can’t talk to them. They will not listen, you will only put yourself in trouble” Raven protest

Faye didn’t listen she walks out f the office, Raven follows her immediately and grabs her hand,

“What are you doing? I’m getting insane here, look I will go to the racecourse, and I will review it. I will give the team a backdrop of the racecourse. I will let them know.” Raven convinces her not to go.

“You’re not getting it, Raven, even If they know the course and get familiar with it. They are not skilled enough to drive in that kind of race track. I will talk to them as the club president and vice president; we must take care of their safety.” Faye continues walking

“Faye listen to me that is not going to help us” Raven continues to block her way

“It is your step-father idea; his colleagues vote for him to make the event happen. My father tried to vote against it, but they didn’t listen to him. Are you getting me; my father can’t do anything. What makes you think you can do anything about that.” Raven continues to persuade her.

“As what you say, he is my step-father; maybe somehow he can consider her stepdaughter request.” Faye didn’t stop hr track and continue walking,

Raven can’t help but gasp in frustration, he can’t stop Faye, and they are in front of the Committee

Board conference room. Faye opens it before Raven can speak again; he has no choice but follows her.

The Committee Board is still in the middle of meeting for the Race Event, and everyone looks at Faye as she enters.

“Oh’ my daughter, what it is that you need and want?” Mr. Arkin sweetly asks

Faye forcedly smiles and decides to take the action that his step-father wished to show to the public;

“Oh’ Mr. Reikenson, I mean my father” internally, she chokes in that word; she doesn’t like the fact that she needs to call him father.

“I wanted to request that if the race will be held outside the University course as Raven told in our Club. I request that our members will not participate.” Faye exhale and release her deep breathing.

“Our members are not skilled enough to race in the professional race track. It’s only me and Raven who are experienced to race outside University course,” Faye finally says.

“Only you and Mr. Raven Hamilton,” Mr. Reikenson says as he looks at Mr. Hamilton, Lexus’s father, who sits opposite of his direction. Mr. Hamilton maintains a straight face and sits comfortably.

“It’s okay; your request will be granted my dear daughter but with one condition. If your members can’t race with you on that track, then professional racers will be invited to race with both of you.”

Mr. Arkin causally suggested.

“Professional racers,” Raven mounted, looking at his father, who gave him a blank reaction.

“My son is already a professional racer, an award-winning F1 racer in the country, so be it.” Mr. Hamilton commented.

“You will use your racing car anyways so that will be much easier for you right Raven” Mr. Arkin smirks

“Okay, I’m okay with that” Faye finally speaks

“What?” Raven asks in disbelief

“I agree with that, Thank you for accepting my request father.” Faye again hated that the word slide in her mouth.

She sighs, “I’m sorry for the disturbance, we will go and inform our members to sudden changes”

Faye respectfully exits as Raven follow her.

“What are you trying to do? Trying to save the members while putting you in trouble, race with the professionals, have you ever tried to race with the professionals? I do, and you don’t have any idea how dangerous it was.” Raven is outraged.

Faye stops her walking, she is trembling, and she doesn’t realize she is until now.

She looks at her shivering hands, Raven notice and held both her trembling hands and look at her,

“Faye” Raven whisper

Faye can’t help but lean his head on his ċhėst; she didn’t know why she is trembling; she didn’t cry.

Raven let him until he calms down.

Raven notices she calms now; he heard the footsteps in the hallway coming near their way. The

Board meeting finish. The Committee is on their way to leave the University.

Raven held Faye; he embraces her and lifts he which startles Faye

“They are coming this way.” Raven alerts her.

Faye let Raven lift her into the side alley and hide there for a while; they are so close to each other,

Faye felt Raven’s breathes and even his heartbeats.

In a matter of minutes, the Committee members are all gone.

Faye and Raven realized how close they are, Raven hands in Faye’s waist, and her hand placed on his ċhėst.

They look at each other and smile.

“We should go and tell the members” Faye detached herself and walks

Raven follows and speaks to get her attention,

“Don’t you think we should practice together on the race track?”Raven suggested.
