Mr. Arkin Reikenson, Faye’s stepfather succeeds in convincing the School Board School Committee to launch the “Race for Charity” project.

Raven gripping tightly ob his steering wheel looking at the endless road, it is the race track they will use, Raven sighs.

“I can’t believe we have to race and let us be their entertainment, bet on us who will win and make people believe that the event is held for charity,” Raven exclaims

“Well, the money they will gather in all of the fun they have will still send to charity” Ralph answers

“How could we be so sure?” Raven asks

“There are media that will report it, the bet will be done underground, and they have an advanced system for that” Ralph explains

How did you know?” Raven curious

“My dad made the high-end technology they will use in betting. It is safe and hard to access” Ralph casually answers.

“I see, even our dads are involved; my father can’t go against the board, the majority trust that Grayson, he has the biggest stock anyway, his minions follow his word kike his sheep. My father will be in trouble if he disagrees” Raven explains

“Were both on the same page, we don’t want to be involved in this event but I think the two of us are much better to protect the Race club members since they are a professional racer from International University joining us,” Ralph commented.

“We can’t drag anyone here especially Faye, this is a dangerous race for sure” Raven takes a deep breath.

“I never seen you get nervous in nearby competition before” Ralph notice he is fidgeting

“I never felt this nervous before, I’m so uneasy” Raven admits.

“Relax if you participate in the race in that condition, you will lose”

“What are doing here?” Raven asks irritated.

“I will practice driving the course too”

“What, Faye are you crazy? This is dangerous” Raven outrage

“Is that the reason you let me out of the list and take Ralph instead of me” Faye voice stutters.

Ralph look away, he tries not to catch the questioning look of Faye,

Faye cross both of her arms, she wears her racing uniform, she fake coughs

“Answer me, both of you” Faye demands

“The race will be an entertainment for the elitist, they will watch us race and have fun betting on us. They said it is for charity, the money they will gather they will give it to charity. But this event is wrong; they used us and this event to make their image good in the public. The media will report it, it seems it is a normal race to enjoy y them but under those tables, their gambling and betting on us which one who will win. It dangerous, the professional racer in different International University also joins the competition with media reporting this. They will do their best to showcase their skills and win. Those people who sit and watch us, they are all using us.” Raven snorts.

“That is the reason I should be a part of the competition.” Faye casually answers.

“What? Why? Raven asks in disbelief

“To make my stepfather realize, I will do my best to win and I’m not scared to be a part of this competition even if it is dangerous.” Faye aid bluntly

“You don’t know what are you’re saying Faye, the racers here is not like in our club. Believe me, I race for professional’s game and it’s dangerous, your life is at stake.”Raven’s voice is soft.

“I will not back out, I will participate in the race. My stepfather should witness that I’ am not scared” Faye is stubborn.

Raven can’t help but come closer and held both of her shoulders; his voice is soft and endearing, trying to make Faye understand that the situation is not favorable for them.

“Faye I know you want to show your stepfather what you are capable of but this is too risky. Your stepfather will rejoice if something bad happens to you on the race track. An accident is high in this competition.” Raven warns her.

“I know but if I don’t participate, my stepfather will belittle me more. I don’t want him to think I’m a coward. I will participate in this competition Raven.” Faye said loud and clear.

Raven sighs, he can sense the determination in Faye’s words; he thinks he cannot do anything to stop her from participating in the competition.

“Okay, fine but you will stay by our side, at least we can protect you, a professional cheater is competing in this race, and they will cheat to win. They don’t care if they will hurt you or worse injured you.” Raven reminds her.

” I have made up my mind Raven, don’t treat me like a Princess you need to protect, concentrate on the game and win. At least one of us should get the title.” Faye answers firmly.

“Don’t worry Raven, I will be at your back and make sure you and Faye are safe, I will look after both of you. Concentrate on the game like Faye suggests” Ralph intervenes.

Raven smiles timidly at Ralph, he knows that Ralph worries the same for Faye, the woman is hardheaded, he can’t do anything to make her listen to him, and he sighs as a sign of giving up in the discussions.

Faye face him as she sees that Raven is genuinely concern, she speaks softly,

“I trust you, Raven, you can win this” Faye said determinedly.

Raven look at her surprised but as soon as their eyes met; Raven is a relief as a small smile escapes the beautiful woman’s face.

Ralph, Raven, and Faye practice the course driving as the day of the competition is about near.

The day of the competition and Charity Event has come; the media are all over the place, covering the event,

The elites are seated comfortably in their seats, they are in VIP’s section and it is highly secured by guards.

The students from different International University came to support their representatives. The 10,000 seats are filled with people.

The racing course is dangerous, the curves and loops are only for professionals.

Leigh and Czerene are there in their seats madly nervous, they can’t contain their emotions.

“I’m not excited, I’m nervous as hell. Why I have this feeling” Leigh blurted out

“Stop it, Leigh, your not helping, I’m nervous too, you’re not helping. I need to calm down” Czerene added.

“For real Czerene, I have a bad feeling in this event” Leigh can’t help but say.

“Stop it. Stop the negativity and let’s focus on encouraging Faye. Let’s go to her and give her our support.” Czerene grabs Leigh to go to the player’s section.

The two women startled as Ken suddenly appears,

“Ken” Czerene blurted out

“Finally I find you two, have you seen Lexus?” Ken is looking specifically at Leigh,

Czerene stares at Leigh too and waits for answers,

“Why are you guys looking at me like that? I don’t know and how could I know?” Leigh asks irritatingly.

“Lexus is acting weird lately” Ken stated.

“He is weird” Leigh bluntly commented.

“Leigh” Czerene hushes her best friend.

“I think something is bothering him that he doesn’t want to share to me or Raven,” Ken said seriously.

“What do you mean? How can you say that?” Leigh suddenly becomes interested.

“I know this is not the right time to talk about Lexus while Raven and Faye are out there competing. I tell both of you later after we give our support, Let’s go.” Ken encourage them to give their cheers first before the competition started.

The racer’s cars already set in their respective places, the racers are conditioning themselves.

“Hey there pretty face,” an arrogant stranger calls Faye

“You’re so pretty for this race, you should go in model and ramp instead of driving wheels barbie doll, you might get hurt here” the arrogant stranger continues his blabbering.

Faye doesn’t mind him, she keeps on stretching and tries to calm herself as she conditions her body,

Faye knows very well how his stepfather wanted to take everything from her, their company and riches that his father left to them.

Faye knows that how this man intentionally manipulates his mother and continually controlling her.

Faye knows that his stepfather wanted to destroy everything that his father left her and that includes his father’s gift to her, her car.

Faye is nervous when he felt someone holds her hands “What’s the matter this man disturbing you?” Raven’s voice is authoritative.

The stranger chuckles “Oh’ boyfriend, you’re both racing, is that a couple of goals” The arrogant stranger is mocking them.

Raven looks at the man fiercely as he never lets go of Faye’s hand; Faye doesn’t mind about the arrogant stranger, her mind is busy somewhere else.

The feels of Raven’s hands relax her tension, she is relieved somehow.

The arrogant stranger continues talking “You’re both will be crying going home anyways” the man chuckles.

“You sure about that, I don’t talk, let the road prove me otherwise” Raven commented, he smirks.

“Sure, better eat my dust” the arrogant man smirks and rides his car.

“Hey pretty if you’re man lose in this game, broke up with him and If I win, have me instead.” The arrogant stranger is leaning in his car window

Faye had enough, she faces the arrogant stranger and raises an eyebrow “I will never want a man like you, who talk more than he drives, besides I own myself, you don’t dare say me what to do” Faye answers still her hand and Raven hand are clasp together. Faye turns her back in the arrogant man who becomes speechless.

“Go to your place Raven” Faye softly suggests to him.

“Okay, I will, remember everything I say to you” Raven reminds her still holding her hand.

“Okay, I got it” Faye answers timidly.

“Guys” Leigh voice echoes as Raven and Faye are both startled, they don’t have the time to hide their clasp hand.

“Ooooohhh…. “Leigh tease

Ken and Czerene both are trying to hide their smiles.

Faye tries to unlock their hands but Raven gets a grip of it tightly.

“Guys I’m nervous” Raven admits.

“Man, don’t be, I trust in you” Ken come forward and give Raven a brotherly hug.

“Where’s Lexus?” Raven is anxious.

“Oh’ he said his hungry, he buys some food, and he says he wills waves at you later. Don’t worry he cheers for you too.” Ken laughs

“So food before me, I see” Raven snorts

“Don’t be jealous, he is right here to support you. Relax” Ken convinces Raven

“Okay” Raven nods

Leigh and Czerene already chatting with Faye and giving her encouraging words

“You can do it, girl, raise our flag, we are with you. Look we made you banner” Leigh and Czerene happily show her their handwritten banner.

Faye smile brightly and hugs her sister “Thank you”
