Descendants Fate; Faye Nobody Heiress - Chapter 6

As they reach the cafeteria, Lexus goes straight to the cafe counter and point to Leigh, an empty seat, and takes a sit.

The seat Lexus pick is near the window, you can see through it the massive University Greek landscape garden.

Leigh looks at the window, looking at the trees and the sky; it relaxes her somehow.

She is smiling as she is feeling light and delights at the same time. It seems a considerable weight in her heart is gone.

Leigh is savoring that feeling when Lexus suddenly speak “beautiful” Lexus can’t help but notice.

She is a little bit startled as she notices that guy already sitting in front of him with a tray of foods. He then places in front of her a plate of burgers and fries and a chocolate frap.

Leigh smiles as she sees the food. “Will that be enough?” he heard the guy ask in a low tone.

As she looks at his way, she saw that Lexus is already eating; a bowl of bento is in his hand.

Lexus is eating the rice then the pork tonkatsu, beef teriyaki, and then the vegetable side dishes. He put all of it in his mouth, gets the kernel corn, and put it again in his mouth.

His mouth is so full that he suddenly coughs. Leigh quickly gives him bottled water.

Lexus immediately opens it, drinks it while massaging his ċhėst, and then stump it hard by his fist.

He then recovered, take a deep breath, and about to eat again when he noticed the girl staring at her as if he is some weird species.

Lexus blushes in embarrassment as he remembers Leigh is with him.

He quickly looks down and scratches his neck as a sign of embarrassment.

He then heard a giggle, and when he looks up, Leigh is smiling brightly at him that it reaches her eyes.

“Take it easy. Eat slowly. You skip your lunch, and your stomach may hurt when you eat that fast and a lot,” she said in a weary tone.

That puts up a light on Lexus’ face, and he smiles widely.

Lexus is now eating slowly, savoring the flavor of every food he eats.

He then notices that Leigh set aside the knife and didn’t cut the burger.

Leigh squeezes the bun tightly with all her grip and then takes a big bite, Lexus chuckles.

He notices the girl looks at her and wink

“That’s how you eat the burger, you know,”; she said happily and then continues eating.

Lexus is contented just watching Leigh eats her burger

“This the first time in my entire life that I truly enjoy eating”; he thought

Lexus only keeps that in his mind, he doesn’t want to ruin the moment.

He stares at the girl in front of her. They didn’t talk much because they are eating, but he is just happy.

“What are you planning to do about the member’s evaluation?” she asked

Lexus is startled. “How did you know about the evaluation?”

“Everybody knows about it Lexus, and you know it’s an A+ to our grade” Czerene voice is firm, seems she is back to her real self

“Oh’ I see, you care about the ranking and high grades we will get from taking good care of our club, I know now” Lexus seems sound disappointed

Lexus looks at Leigh’s face, he is trying to figure out Leigh’s reaction, but he just can’t read it. She stares out the window with a blank expression.

“Are you trying to finish it alone, the evaluation? “Leigh asked still looking at the window

Lexus didn’t know if it is just his imagination, but he senses something is indifferent to her, but he can only see her side-profile.

Lexus decided to stand up, lean his hand on the table and face her.

He felt the world stop as their eyes met.

It is the first time he looks at that girl with that kind of stare that can almost weaken his knees. Leigh startled as he sees the guy face in front of her.

His deep brown eyes look at her intently as she somewhat lost in his gaze, she feels her cheek is burning, and she is blushing.

Lexus felt his arms that leaning on the table weaken as he thought his arm muscle shaken, so he decided to pull his face back and sit again.

Leigh notices that Lexus distance himself and returns to his seat, and he starts to shake himself off,

Lexus doesn’t want Leigh to gets awkward, so he thinks of things he can say to save him for the situation.

“Okay. I admit I need help, but I’m too shy to ask for help from you. I know it sounds odd, probably not like me, but you know I’m not used in asking a favor,”; Lexus said as he looks down the ground.

Leigh smiles as she taps Lexus’s shoulder with her other hand as she says

“Alright, I’ll help you; it’s also my duty as club-vice president anyways. I can’t stand and watch you.”

“Okay,” Lexus can’t help but smile, thinking he and Leigh will work for hand and hand in the bloody evaluation report that gives him a headache.

The Racing Club have their car race tournament today; events like this always happen, each club in their University have their activities set by their club leaders and agreed by club members.

Each club provides by their respective places, such as club offices, training places, and tournament tracks and fields.

For the car racing club, what belongs to them is the long wide road uphill and downhill in the side of Mount Stenberg.

That road is mainly used by the racer club as their race track when they have racing tournaments. It is one of the courses that they are using.

Mostly Faye and Raven drive and practice outside the University course; that is the reason that course is pretty easy for them.

Faye is playing with the kitten in her hand as she is standing beside her purple Lamborghini.

Her attention is at the road uphill the mountain, focusing her eyes on the beautiful mountain that seems just near to them. She loves appreciating the beauty of nature as she smiles.

Faye suddenly felt a presence standing behind her. In her mind, she knew who it was; it always happens before the race start; Raven come to her, pissed her off, and distract her focus but not on this day. Before she turns, she hears a sneeze coming from the guy.

Then she turns around and smirks while cuddling the kitten in her arms, now facing him.

“Who told you pets are allowed in our club?” Raven sneezes again; he is breathing hard.

Raven still trying to speak; he notices a spark in Faye’s eyes; somehow, he suddenly feels nervous. He back off immediately, enough distance from him to get on his nerves.

Raven doesn’t like Faye’s grin and bright, playful eyes on him; he doesn’t like the idea behind those smiles and her eyes. It makes him think she’s up to something, so he quickly turns his back and leaves.

Faye rejoice inside, her wide smile quickly fades off when she heard Raven’s voice

Raven is standing in the middle of the field and holding a microphone; everybody was startled when he speaks.

“It was the club president,”; every member stuttered.

“My fellow club members, my fellow Racers, I’m not participating in this race. I will be just here to watch you.

You know it’s not fun that I’m the one who always gets the no.1 spot, I think today because it was a special event in our club.

I will let you all enjoy the race without the pressure” – he smiles, and when he does, a lot of girls screams and squeal giggling

“And….” Raven cut the noise in the crowd caused by everyone busy chatting. He looks at Faye.

She gulped as Raven look at him “what on Earth? This guy is thinking,” her eyebrow frowned.

Lexus is looking intently at how her eyebrow frown it makes him smile.

Still staring at Faye as he continues to speak

“So does Faye, she is not participating in the race as well,”- giving her a firm look.

“What?” she blurted out

As Raven speaks again, looking at the crowd.

“Well, you know guys that as top rank placer in our club, we must make sure that the club racers are improving their skills.

We watch you race and comments on your abilities, and we will acknowledge as a rival or a threat anyone who wins a car race today”- Raven stated

Everybody, especially guys roar as a sign that they have hope to be view as a rival by this no.1 placer; it is an honor for each of his club members to acknowledge them as a rival.

He then again speaks, “All right, everybody on your mark.

Get ready. On your position,” Raven said as he put down the microphone as they heard the buzz a sign to start the race.

Engine starting, the crowd is cheering as the cars drive away.

The crowd follows and busy looking at the big screen.

Raven is now sitting, intently watching on the screen.

Faye gave him a puzzled look.

“Don’t ask. I have reasons”- Raven said lazily

“So why drag me too” she can’t help but ask

“I don’t have a choice either” he answered but still looking at the screen

Faye wants to ask him more, but the sound of the crowd cheering makes her look at the big screen in front of them, and it caught her attention.

Raven notices that Faye is standing far away from him, and she doesn’t have the kitten in her arms anymore; that’s distance is enough for him not to have an attack, named it allergy attack or even heart attack caused by his rapid heartbeats.

Faye’s eyes focus on the screen too and soon give remarks.

That this racer improves and that racer is tense.

That racer makes the wrong move until Raven can’t hear what Faye is saying anymore.

Raven can’t focus on what she is saying.

He intently watches her face.

The reaction she made, the way she chuckles, her eyes sparkle, her teeth grinned, her lips curved.

Everything about her he’s enjoying to watch

as his eyes meet hers, it seems he lost at her gaze as he notices the girl’s eyebrow frown.

Raven can’t help but reach and touch by the tip of his finger that beautiful forehead of hers to ease the tension. As he notices the frown has gone, he smiles as he hears Faye’s sweet voice

“What are you doing?” she asked innocently, her voice gets him back to reality.

And he awkwardly says “sorry” and gets his attention back in watching but the moment he does.

Ralph one of his members wins the race and everybody cheering and to his surprise including Faye as she is about to run when Ralph already arrives; Raven quickly stands up and fastens his pace passing by Faye as it startled her.

Raven shouts, “Ralph, congratulations!” As he gives the guy a handshake and a broad smile while

Faye is standing at his back, waiting for her turn to greet Ralph, she is planning to hug him as she congratulates him, but as soon she’s in front of his friend.

A steady hand pulls her away, leaving her with no choice but to smile at Ralph and shout, “Congratulations!” as she pulls away.

Ralph smile widely and wave to her; Ralph must admit he feel somehow sad that Faye didn’t greet him the way he expected, but Ralph tries to hide it as he notices Raven grabbing her hand, pulling her away from the crowd.

Still, confusing, but she just let the guy lead his way, and then he suddenly stops, she felt the grip is tightening then he sneezes, and he sneezes, again and again, causing to tighten his grip on her hand.

Faye felt his breathing is uneasy. Somehow she starts to worry.
