Raven drives his Maserati and goes home; they are in on neighborhood; Lexus, Ken, and Raven live in the same Village, an exclusive community for Richest Family in the country.

Raven enters the grand gate of their mansion, park his car and immediately gets inside, the servants greet him as he passes their house main lobby and about to take the stair when he heard his father voice;

“Raven, I’m glad you came,” sipping his champagne on his champagne glass.

Mr. Hamilton sits there like a King waiting for him, his father has his chair in every part of their mansion, wherever he is the house, he has sat in his chair, and no one can sit in that chair other than him.

Raven stops his track and faces his father; he came near. His father in their visitor welcome lounge, it’s a part of their vast mansion lobby specially design to cater guests and visitors.

“Why are you here, father, did you ȧssist some guest before I came?” Raven asks curiously

“You’re very clever my son; I entertain guess before you came, it’s sad that you came late you never had a chance to meet them.” Mr. Hamilton said enthusiastically

“Oh’ is that why you ask me to come to meet your visitor” Raven asks

“I hope that will be the only reason, but you’re my son; that is not the only reason.” Mr. Hamilton looks at his son’s eye to eye.

“You better take your seat, my son. I don’t want you to stand there while we have our talk,” Mr. Hamilton said to his son delightfully and smile.

“Oh’ you’re a mother; she was the kitchen a while ago, wanted to boast to the visitor about her cooking, but it ended up miserably, so what do you expect.” Mr. Hamilton voice is irritated

“You scold her again, didn’t you father?” Raven is holding back his irritation

“It’s your mother’s fault if she just let the chef do it and the maids. Why she needs to go to the kitchen and mess everything. My visitor is essential people; I don’t want them to get offended by the food we serve in our house; that is the reasons why I hired the finest chef to be our cook but your mother…” Mr. Hamilton stops when he notices his son unpleasant reaction

“She is crying in her room, right?” Raven asks

“You know your mother too well” Mr. Hamilton scoffs

“I’ll go and see her first” Raven demands

“Okay, I’ll be at my office. We need to talk, Raven.” Mr. Hamilton looks at him in his eyes and passes by him.

Raven sigh, he knows very well that his father and mother marriage is arranged, but her mother dearly loves him as his son and his father,

Raven’s father is loved by her mother no matter how his father treats her, his father never hurts her mother physically, but he scolds her like a child, mock her in front of her business colleagues when her mother is making small mistakes.

Raven loves her mother dearly; he always wanted to make sure she s healthy. He continuously checks on him even he is not living in their house. Raven still calls her and texts her. He is a proud “mama’s boy” for a reason; nothing in her mother is wrong. For him, she is beautiful and intelligent, not what his father always saying when he insults her mother.

Raven quickly takes the stairs and knocks at the door, “Mother” he said loudly

No answer, he flips the doorknob, and there he sees her mother smiling to him.

Raven knew that her mother fix herself for him not to notice that she been crying,

“Mother,” he hugs her, “I miss you.”

“My son, why are you here?” Her mother voice is still scratch maybe from crying, but he tries not to speak

Raven’s mother always wanted to show him her strong side, and he doesn’t want to break that.

“Father told me to come because he says you cook for me” Raven tease her mother

“No, he didn’t. It wasn’t good. The kitchen is a mess” Mrs. Hamilton voice shivers

I believe in you. I will eat that” Raven said

Mrs. Hamilton tears about to fall, but she managed to talk “but nothing is left, your father threw it in the garbage that is how bad it is” Mrs. Hamilton try to make it sound as funny.

Raven wanted to be angry at his father, but he knows well, he can’t show it to her mother.

Mrs. Hamiton peace of mind; when he is at home, he tries his best to make her mother relax and forget about all the awful words his father said to her.

“Okay, mom, it’s okay. I guess we both have to cook now. I’m starving” Raven complains

“The chef prepare a good meal,” Her mother says

“No. I don’t want that, let’s cook together. It’s not every day I’m here mother” Raven insists

Raven research an online video tutorial in cooking simple pasta; “Garlic Pasta”

Raven is the one who boils the pasta, and he let her mother garnish it and sprinkle by garlic powder.

“You will make it as a good husband my son” Mrs. Hamilton praises him as he sips her wine

“You’re the one who molds me to be the man that I’ so clap yourself; mother” Raven praise her back

In hearing that, her mother becomes emotional and cries; she quickly tends to her mother’s side.

‘Why?” Raven curious

“Raven promises me one thing; marry me the woman that you love. I know, our status restricts you to love the person you want to be with, but if you will marry someone because of our status, titles and riches are at stake, do not marry.” Her mother’s voice is solemn.

“Take care of your father business, make it mighty as it always is but never marry for the sake of it” Her mother voice is strain from crying

“Mom, you drink enough” Raven gets the glass of wine

Raven carries her mother in her room. “Mom, you must sleep,” he brushes her mother’s hair, but she keeps on crying. He stays until the cries are inaudible; her mother is sleeping.

Raven put a blanket in her mother, kisses her forehead, and closes the light in her room.

“Father, what is about?” Raven sit in front of his father desk

Mr/ Hamilton gave him a pile of papers

Raven took it and went through the article, scanning it

“Miles Enterprises and all their riches are filed here. Why are you showing me this?” Raven asks

“Raven doesn’t act dumb; you’re twenty-one now. Graduating from College soon will train as the CEO of our company. That is the first step.” Mr. Hamilton said

“First step of what” Raven is curious

“Mr. and Mrs. Miles wanted to expand their business and connections. They have a daughter, an

“heiress”; there one and only daughter.” Mr. Hamilton said to him firmly

Raven quite knew what is his father meant “an heiress” Raven unconsciously mumbles

“What do you mean? Are you born yesterday, didn’t you know that’s how connections and business grow Raven. You have to wake up. Your friend Lexus, Mr. Fletcher, will make her meet “the famous ballerina” in the country, the “Gillan’s” daughter. the one and only heiress of “Gillans.”

“Lexus, how do you know about that?” Raven asks

“I suggest Mr. Fletcher that woman, I make Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher meet Mr. and Mrs. Gillans, connection that is the power we have.” Mr. Hamilton boasts about it.

“Father, why you need to influence Lexus’s parents?”

You just let them decide.” Raven snorts

“My son, you are a newbie in the field, it works that way, and that’s what every parent wants. They want their son or “successor” to marry a future “heiress” someone capable of expanding the power, connections, and riches of our family.” Mr. Hamilton explains

“Father, why you wanted to grow our business more?

Are these riches are not enough for you? Why you wanted more?” Raven asks in frustration

“Raven is you hearing yourself. Are you a Hamilton?” Mr. Hamilton asks furiously

“You should know why I’m doing this and you in the first place should not question me, you have to listen to your father and do what I say” Mr. Hamilton is in range.

“Your University Ball Night is near, take Mr. and Mrs. Miles daughter as your date” Mr. Hamilton voice is commanding

Raven looked at his father hopeless; he can’t find a word to utter; his father continues talking like they are in a business meeting and not discussing his future life.

“Her name is Lacey Miles, The Miles Enterprise, as you know, is a big partner ever since we start in the Business Field. Most of the product that we cater it’s theirs. We have made a strong alliance with their families. They are outstanding business players, and I learn so much from them. We will be a powerful force in the business industry in the future if their company and ours merge. Their daughter is a long time arranges to get married to you. Lacey Miles knows you, and she likes you. She was no protest when her parents said you are his future husband. Well, son you sure inherit those good genes from me and believe me no one can resist that” Mr. Hamilton boast

Raven needs to hide his irritation; he tries not to make his father how awful he feels inside. No matter what he said, his father will shut him up.

Raven felt he has no choice but to give his father what he wants; there are things he needs to follow for now. In the meantime, while he has no power and connection.

“Lacey Miles studies in the same University where you studies” Mr. Hamilton continues,

Mr. Hamilton gives him Lacey Miles profile like it is a resume he needs to study,

Plays classical music in piano at the age of twelve

Perform as representative of the country in England.

Interest: poetry, reading novels, and watching a theater play.

His father quickly catches his reaction “Opposite do attract as what they said besides you need a future wife; she is perfect for socialites and party. So aristocrat” Mr. Hamilton commented

“She is a classical musician and an actress maybe that is the reason our roads never cross,” Raven said sarcastically

“Raven, you know you should make a way to get close to her before the Night Ball in the University. You should invest time and effort to ask her for a date,” Mr. Hamilton suggests.

“You can gift her anything she wants, a great purse, clothes, shoes, flowers. Buy her and invest in her; that is the way you can win her.” Mr. Hamilton suggest

“Father, you and I have a very different style, and I hope you leave this to me. I don’t want a guidebook of what to do and not to do as what you say I’ am not dumb.” Raven says firmly

“Raven, you should be careful in your words and abide in my rules in that way we can avoid any troubles.” Mr. Hamilton reminds him.

“Treat my mother right; she deserves to treat better. Stop yelling at her and insulting her,” Raven said firmly.

“You’re commanding me,” Mr. Hamilton asks, looking at him fiercely,

“No, I’m asking you a favor as his husband and as my father,” Raven said as he turns his back

“Raven, my son, I see, you’re showing your fangs that’s good, but I hope you know to whom you should use it,” Mr. Hamilton warned him.

Raven never mind what his father says and walks out of their mansion.
