Destined Lovers - Chapter 3

Haru never stop looking for Iris. Soon a woman bumps into him in order to caught the thief. Haru falls down along with the woman. “Damn!” The woman stands up and kicks a bin and it hits her target’s gut. The thief falls down in pain. The woman then turns the man over in order to cuff him. Soon her two partners, Lyle and Molly shows up. “Iris, you sure a fast runner.” Iris smiles. She got off of the man. Lyle takes over. “Young Master, thats Lady Iris. Haru then looks up and sees Iris. (Iris…it’s really you.) He sees that she’s wearing a police officer uniform. Iris was about to leave with Molly. Haru speaks up, “Iris.” Iris stops and turn around. She then sees Haru and Ivan. (Haru..) Iris then get back her senses and ran away from them. “Eh. Iris. Where are you going?!” Molly yells behind her. Molly looks at Haru and Ivan. (Who are they? Why did Iris ran away?)

Iris kept running. Then she looks back to see if there’s anyone chasing her. (No one. Good.) She sighs and touch her necklace.

[flashback-four years ago]

Iris was still an university student. She helped an old granny to cross the street. Soon she bumped into a man. “Sorry.” “Oh no. It’s my fault.” She looks up and sees the man. (Ba-bump, ba-bump) “is there’s something wrong?” “Ahh no. Sorry.” She quickly left. She looks back. (It’s him! That’s Uncle Meng) she puts her hand over her heart. (Does he remember me? No he doesn’t. I was still young back then.) she shrugs it off. She quickly heads back to the dorm. One day, she got a weird text from her roommate. She then heads to the place where she’s supposed to meet. She enters the building. “Hannah?” She takes a look around. She felt someone is behind her. She turns and she got hit on the head. She collapsed on the floor. (Who..?)

She begins to wake up, but tied up. (W-Where am I? Ahhh that’s right. The text from Hannah then I…got hit on the head. Ughh.) she checks her surrounding and found a broken glass. She grabs it and starts rubbing the glass to the rope. She hears someone coming in. She pretends not to be awake. The door opens. She counts how many people there is. (One. Two. Just two.) she got done cutting the rope. “Ughh.” “Finally you’re awake.” “…my stomach hurts.” “What?” One of the men bends down. She then takes her chance. She quickly takes action, quickly slice his throat with the glass. “Argh” she kicks him and push him to the other man. “Hey!!” She ran out of the room. She kept on running, she looks back and then looks in front of her. Then….BOOOOOM!!!

She got hit by a car. She moves her fingers. “S-someone. Help. Help me.” Someone came out of the car. “Sir, it’s me.” “No. P-please.” BANG! BANG! Her fingers stops moving. “Jobs done. Yes.” The man left and drove away.

Iris was taken in the ambulance. “Hurry. We’re losing her.” As they reach the hospital, they took her tot he emergency room. [iris’s dream: “where am I? Huh? It’s you. Who are you?” The woman smiles and touch iris’s head. Iris then recalls what happen. Her mom got killed by her own uncle. Uncle killed a woman. “That’s right. I ran away from him and fell. That’s how I got the scar. I was found and took to the hospital to get treated. The one who found me was Haru’s grandfather. I lost my memories and he took me in and name me iris. “Meera.” I looked at her. “Your name is Meera. Stay away from your uncle. Please stay alive.” Her mom’s hand slowly becomes transparent. “Don’t leave me.” “I’m here with you.” She touches her heart. “I’m always here.” BEEEEEPPPPP. “We’re losing her. Hurry 120 volts.” “Mom. I miss you.” “I miss you too, honey.” “Take me with you.” She shakes her head, and said “if you leave, he’s going to be sad. He can protect you. I want you to continue to live for me. No matter where you are, I’m always watching.” “Mom ” She pushes Meera into the light. BEEP BEEP BEEP. “She’s back. Let’s continue.” Few days later, she opens her eyes. (Where am I???) Shes fully open her eyes and check her surrounding. “That’s right. I got shot. Twice.” She sighs. Then the door slams open. “Iris!!” “Ahh hi Hannah.” “Don’t you dare do that. You scared me.” Hannah sobs. Iris just laughs. “Hey.” “Hm?” “Don’t tell em you..” “no I didn’t call them. But should we call them? They’re your family, aren’t they not?” She sadly smiles. “No. I’m not. They just took me in.” She looks at the window. “But If we did, they can take care of that mean nasty looking girl, Tess Zhan, right?” “Karma will get her.” “But she’s the reason why you’re in the hospital.” “She misunderstood me. She thinks I stole her boyfriend even though she’s the one who’s cheating on him. Humph. No need to worry. Karma will get her. So no need to let them know.” “Alright. I’m just glad you’re safe and sound.” “Me too. Me too.”

[present time]

Iris holds her necklace tightly. “I need more time. I need to gather the evidences.” Iris then heads back to the station. An hour later after a meeting, Haru calls Iris’s chief, Cyril, to pull iris out of any assignments for the time being. Iris found out that she’s kicked out. She went to his boss. “Why did you pull me out?” “Your brother wants me to pull” she turned and walked out. (How dare he!) She heads back to the house. She bangs on the door. Mary opens the door. “Lady iris.” “Hi Mary” iris walks in. She heads to the living room. She takes a deep breath and shouts, “Haru, bring your butt down here this instant!!” Haru got startled by her loud voice. He smirks. (That was fast) he closes his laptop and heads out of the bedroom. He puts his cold face on. He stands by the stairs. “You know…you could knock on my door and asks nicely.” She gets mad. “Bring. Your. Butt. Down. Here. Now!” Haru then shrugs and went downstairs. He sits on the sofa. “What is it?” She comes closer to him. “What did you say to my boss?” “I just told him to keep you out of any assignments.” “Why?” “Iris, being an officer is a dangerous job.” “So what?” “It’s best” “What? To be obedient and stay in a cage? I choose to be an officer so what do you care?” “Iris. Enough. I said you’re not allowed to, that’s final.” “I’m not under your control, just because you have the power.” “Iris! You should be obediently follow your brother’s orders.” She picks up a cup and threw it at Haru. Haru dodge it but he got scratched on the side of his cheek. She glares at him. “We’re not related. I don’t need you help. This is my business.” She turns around and was planning to leave but the guards blocks her way. “Move!” Haru stands up and takes out handkerchief to clean the blood on his cheek. “You’re not going anywhere without my approval.” She bit her lower lip and heads upstairs to her room. “Watch her closely.” In a few minutes, they heard a crash upstairs. Haru sighs. Haru is about to head to the kitchen but he heard the dogs barking outside. He paused for a bit. (She couldn’t possibly …) Haru ran outside and sees a rope of clothes tied on the balcony. He sighs. “Go find her and keep an eye on her.” “Yes.” The guards left. “This girl.” Haru was about to return to the house but he stops. (She said…we’re not related. She…did she regain her memories? If so…what happen??)
