Destined Lovers - Chapter 5

Iris(Meera) heads to the place where it all started. She recalls the steps that she takes when she was little. (That woman…her name is Yasmin…but who is she? Why did uncle kill her?) she hears footsteps behind her. She turns around. “Haru..” “What are you doing here?” She looks away. “None of your business.” Haru sighs. (Still stubborn.) Haru walks up to her and takes her hand. “What? Let go.” “Zhan family is holding a party. We’ve been invited.” “I hate parties. Go find someone else.” Haru got irritated. So he grabs her and carries her over his shoulders. “Put me down. I said put me down” she kept hitting his back. He throws her in the car. “Shut up and behave.” “Humph.” She pouts and cross her arms. They first head to the store to get a dress for Iris. Haru was waiting in a different room. “Master Haru.” Haru looks up. “Where is she?” Then he sees her presence by the stairs. She walks down the stairs. She’s wearing pink a-line neck scoop chiffon dress. Soon she’s in front of him, avoiding his gaze. “What do you think, Master?” Haru was speechless. “Master?” “Hmm?” “I said what do you think?” “Beautiful.” Iris looks at him. “the dress that is. Good job, Bob.” Iris then scoffs and heads out without him. Bob then said, “beautiful..you mean her, that is.” Bob’s grinning. “Bob. Do you want me to fire you?” “How mean, Master.” Bob smacks him on the shoulder. Haru then follows Iris.

(At the party)

Haru and iris arrive the place. Haru lift his elbow. Iris looks at it then looks at him. “I don’t want your elbow.” Haru sighs. “Stupid” “Wha-!” He takes her hand and puts around his elbow. Iris ignores him. “Let’s go.” They enters the place. Iris feels out of place. They both greets the people. Soon Haru pulls away. “I’ll be right back. Stay here. Understand?” “Got it.” He smiles and left. He then made a phone call. “It’s me. She’s right in front of you in a pink dress. Luna’s daughter.” He hangs up and watch her afar. Iris got bored. Soon a old man came and stand next to her. “Seems like you don’t want to be here.” “Ah. Well, I’m not a fond of parties.” “We’re the same then.” “Gramps. You also don’t like parties?” “No. It’s just a hassle.” “Right. Waste of money.” “True.” “I’m Iris. And you are..?” “I’m ” “grandfather!” Tess shows up. “Huh? You?!” (She said grandfather) Iris looks at the old man. “Nice to meet you, Chairman Zhan.” Haru sees how the situation is. (Forgot that she’s alive.) haru then interferes. “Chairman Zhan. It’s a pleasure to meet you. I see you already meet Iris.” Tess then sees Haru. She smiles. Haru sees her and asks, “and you are..?” Tess got disappointed. Chairman Zhan said, “this is Tess, my granddaughter.” “I see.” Tess then asks, “what’s your relationship with that girl?” He puts his arm around Iris. “My relationship with her is not your business. But if you want to know then…I’ll tell you. She’s my one and only special someone. Understand?” He glares at Tess. Tess then grips on her dress. She then said, “did you know that she’s been seducing men?” “Tess!” Iris feels uncomfortable. She holds onto haru’s jacket. Haru smiles and said, It’s alright, Chairman Zhan.” Haru looks at Tess. “I don’t care what she does. As long as she keeps looking at me. That’s all it matters. Now , excuse us, Miss whatever your name is.” Haru then escorts Iris out of the party. “Are you Alright?” “Yeah.” “Stay here. Let me get the car.” “Okay.” A few minutes later, Tess came out of the party. “What’s your relationship with Haru?” She turns around. “It seems you need some hearing aids.” “What did you say?” “He already told you.” “Iris! You think a person like you can win him over ?” “I think I just did.” Tess slaps her. “Iris!” Haru gets out of the car. Tess startles. “I-I-I didn’t mean to. Iris attacks me first.” Haru takes off his jacket and put it on iris’s shoulder. “Can you stand?” “I think I twist my ankle.” Haru then carries her. Chairman Zhan comes out of the party due to the incident. “Chairman Zhan, i know she’s your granddaughter but how are you going to handle this matter?” “Haru. I apologize.” He looks at Tess. “What did you do?” “I-” “whoever harms her will pay a biggest price. Even if it’s you, Tess Zhan.” Haru then left with iris. “Grand-” “Humph.” Chairman Zhan left. Tess watch the car leave. “Iris. It’s not over.”

(In the car)

“We need to take you to the hospital.” “What for?” “Your ank” haru paused then stops the car. He looks at her. “You’re faking it?” “Acting. It’s calls acting. Let’s just go home. I’m tired.” He smiles. He then drives home. As soon they reach home, Iris is fallen asleep. “Iris.” Haru tries to wake her up. But she’s in a deep sleep. Haru gets out of the car. “Young-” haru puts his finger to his lips. The butler stays quiet and gestures the maids to leave. The butler also left. Haru opens the door and carries her. He takes her to her room. He gently puts her down on the bed. He then sits by her side. He gently stroke her hair. “Iris no Meera. I won’t let them hurt you. Believe me.” Haru then kiss her on her forehead. He stands up and left the room. She opens her eyes, her face flushed. (W-what just happen??)
