Destined Lovers - Chapter 8

Water dripping. Mice are wandering and squeaking. Iris finally open her eyes and finds herself bound to the chair. Her head is still fuzzy, she blinks for a few times. (W-what happen? I saw in the headmaster’s office then…ahh..that’s right. Heather hits back of my head.) She press a button on her watch, where it gives a signal to Haru or Ivan find her location.

She soon hears voices. She loses her eyes and pretends to be unconscious. “There she is. Ms Officer.” (Heather. Who is she talking to?) “Ah!” (She fell down…) “Are you crazy?!” She gets up. “Keith. She’s an officer. She knows we’re behind of Yasmin’s death. And frame Meng for it. We need to kill her since she knows the truth.” “No.” “Keith!” “Let her go.” “Why? She knows too much Keith!” “She’s my niece, you dimwit!” Heather’s eyes widened. “W-what did you say?” (Uncle Keith. You’re behind it.) “I’ll talk to her and she’ll listen.” Heather scoffs. “She’s not a kid, Keith. She’s a cop! A Cop!” Iris slowly opens her eyes. “Ughh…” They notices that she’s awake. Keith walks up to her and trying to untied the ropes. “Keith, what are you doing?” “Letting her go.” “But–” “Heather! Enough!” Iris sees what’s going on. “Uncle Keith…where am I?” “Sorry, Iris. You must be scared.” Heather made a fist and grips it tightly. She then grabs a stick nearby. “What’s going on?” “I’ll explain on the way. Okay?” “Okay.” BAM! Iris breathing hard. “U-uncle Keith!!!” He fell down on the ground. Iris looks at Heather, who’s gone crazy. “S-stay away from me!” “HAHAHAH.” She comes closer to Iris and takes out a knife. “Don’t!!!” Heather stabs Iris in the stomach. Her eyes widened. She feels the pain in her stomach. “Arghh..” “If you’re gone, then no one will ever know. You’re making things so complicated. Ms. Officer. I don’t care whether you’re a cop or Keith’s niece. You know too much.” She takes out the knife and stabs her again. Iris spits out blood. *Cough Cough. Heather takes her watch. “This watch must be a fortune. I’ll sell it.” Iris is slowly losing her consciousness. She sees a man by the door. He grits his teeth and runs towards Heather.

[Tokyo]

Ivan rush into Haru’s room. He looks up from his laptop. “Y-young Master!!” “What is it?” L-lady Iris. S-she’s in danger.” Haru stands up and takes the piece of paper. (Fuchu? Why is she…?) Someone barges in. “You’re Iris’s friend.” “I’m Molly. Anyways, it’s not the time to greet one another. The important thing is Iris texted me a code.” “A code?” “She usually text me this code when she’s in trouble. I already checked her location beforehand. She went to Yasmin’s university. They said they last saw her with a woman, named Heather. She might be in danger” Haru grips on the paper. “Let’s go.” (Meera. Please stay alive.) “Let me go with you.”

[Fuchu]

The man shoves Heather hard to the ground. “Ah.” She drops the watch. “Meera!!!” He shakes her. He untied her. Heather gets up. “You guys are going nowhere.” She charges at the man. The man dodges and hits her hard. She fell and passed out. He turns to Meera. “Meera.” She slowly lifts her head. “…Uncle Meng…” She tries to reach out to see if it’s really him. But her hand fell down and her eyes are closed. He carries her and was about to head the door but he hears cars coming. He takes an exit and escape with Meera.

A few minutes later, Haru rush into the building. He sees Keith and a woman. “Keith?” Molly comes in. “That’s Heather. Wait. Isn’t this Iris’s watch?” Molly picks it up from the ground and show it to Haru. Haru takes it. He sees that it’s still recording. He stops it and plays it.

Conversation in the watch:

“There she is. Ms Officer.”

“Ah!”

“Are you crazy?!” She gets up.

“Keith. She’s an officer. She knows we’re behind of Yasmin’s death. And frame Meng for it. We need to kill her since she knows the truth.”

“No.”

“Keith!”

“Let her go.”

“Why? She knows too much, Keith!”

“She’s my niece, you dimwit!”

“W-what did you say?”

(Uncle Keith. You’re behind it.)

“I’ll talk to her and she’ll listen.”

Heather scoffs. “She’s not a kid, Keith. She’s a cop! A Cop!”

“Ughh…” (Meera..)

“Keith, what are you doing?”

“Letting her go.”

“But–”

“Heather! Enough!” Iris sees what’s going on.

“Uncle Keith…where am I?”

“Sorry, Iris. You must be scared.”

“What’s going on?”

“I’ll explain on the way. Okay?”

“Okay.” BAM!

Iris breathing hard. “U-uncle Keith!!!”

“S-stay away from me!”

“HAHAHAH.”

“Don’t!!!”

“Arghhh.” *gasping

“If you’re gone, then no one will ever know. You’re making things so complicated. Ms. Officer. I don’t care whether you’re a cop or Keith’s niece. You know too much.” *Cough Cough. “This watch must be a fortune. I’ll sell it.”

Haru sees the blood on the floor near the chair. “Haru.” “Take them to the hospital and chain them until I find her.” “Yes Young Master.” The men in black comes in and takes Keith and Heather.

Haru turns and looks at Keith. (Uncle. Just what did you do..?)

Haru sees the blood leads to the back door. He follows it. “Are you still alive, Meera?” Haru turns back and called for his men to follow the blood trail. They did and it leads to the river. “I don’t think she can hold any much longer. Find her.” “Yes sir.”

Meng carries her across the river. “Hold on. Meera. Keep holding on.” After a few miles he finds a cabin. He kicks the door. “Excuse me.” BANG BANG. The door suddenly opens. “WHO IS IT!?” A woman blinks and see Meng and a injured woman. “Please help her.” “Come inside.” Meng enters the house. The woman looks around and sees if anyone follows them. “What happen to her?” “She was stabbed.” “Poor girl.” The woman treats her wound while Meng looks outside if they follow them.

A few minutes later, someone knocks on the door. They startles. The woman whispers, “Take her. and hide here.” She moves a bookshelf, there’s a secret room there. Meng carries Meera and hides. The woman moves the bookshelf where its belongs. She quickly wipes the blood on her and gets the meat out. She opens the door. “Yes?” The men barge in and take a look around her house. “Hey! You’re trespassing my privacy!” Haru comes in. “Sorry. Have you seen a man and a woman?” “No I haven’t.” “Did you see someone suspicious?” “Yes. All of you are suspicious! Please get out!” Haru bows and gestures the men to leave. Haru looks around. She grabs a knife and threaten him to leave. “Leave I said! Just because you’re high and mighty, you think you can do anything you want. Humph.” Haru and the men left. She returns to the house and locks the door. She even pulls down the curtains. She push the bookshelf. “It’s safe now.” “Thank you.” He went to put Meera down on the bed. “Are you guys criminals or something?” “She’s an officer. I’m her uncle. She was kidnapped. I helped her to escape that’s all.” “I see. If you need anything, feel free to ask me anything.” “Thank you.”
