Birds chirping. Meera opens her eyes and sees the ceiling. (Where am I?) She carefully sits up. “Ughh.” The door opens and a man appears. Meera couldn’t believe what she sees. “Uncle Meng.” She sobs. He takes her into his arms. “Sorry. Meera. Sorry.” She hugs him tight and cried.

A few minutes later. They stay silence. Meera breaks the silence. “How come you didn’t report it to the police?” “I didn’t think Keith would do such a thing to her.” “You loved her?” He smiles sadly. “She only have eyes on him. He proposed to her. She said yes. Happy ending, right? But I received a text message from her. She wanted to see me before the wedding. I went to meet her but she’s on the ground, bleeding. She told me to run away. I refused to run away. I was so confused of what’s happening. She told me, ‘they’re in together.’ She kept saying sorry to me, wish that I’m the one she falls for instead of Keith.” Meera looks at her uncle. “And mom?” “Heather was targeting me but she knew. Your mom knew. And took the bullet for me.” “What should we do now?” Meng touches her head.

“I won’t let them hurt you, Meera. I promised your mother that I will protect you.” “Uncle. How did you know I’m Meera?” He smiles. “When you fell off the cliff. All I can do is hold you tight until I called him.” “Him..?” “Haru’s grandfather. He took you to the best hospital in order to save you. He told me, you’re awake but you lost your memories. I thought, its probably a good thing so that you wouldn’t suffer. I followed you everywhere you go incase they’re onto you.” “They?” Meng looks away and lols at the distance. “Jafar Zhan. He’s your uncle. He is a very cruel man. He’s Sebastian’s brother yet he killed him for the sake of being the next heir of Zhan.” “Then… Chairman Zhan is…” “Yes. He’s your biological grandfather. He’s a nice man who doesn’t know about Jafar’s cruel plans. Jafar lied and used grandfather’s name to married off your mother to an old man. Your mother took you away from the Zhan family. Your grandfather doesn’t know anything since every person in the Zhan family is sided with Jafar.” Meera thinks for a bit. “We should go back.” She slowly stands up. “Meera..” “Grandfather might be next. We need to save him.” He smiles. “Let’s go.”

[Lu Residence.]

Haru didn’t sleep at all. “It’s been ten days yet no sign of her!” Haru threw everything on the floor. Someone knocks on the door. “Who is it!?!” “It’s me.” Grandfather comes in. “Haru.” “Grandfather.” “Calm down.” “How can I calm down when–” Meera comes in. “Meera.” He pushes his grandfather aside. He takes her hands. “Meera, you’re safe.” A man cuts between them. Haru glares at him. The man did the same and smiles. “Thanks for looking after my adorable niece.” “Niece..?” He looks at Meera. Meera then walks pass him. She locks arms with Grandfather. He looks at Haru, who’s glaring at him. “Grandfather, there’s a favor I wanted to ask you.” “What is it?” “My grandfather might be in trouble.” “Ah yes. Meng told me.” “So what shall we do?” He pats her head. “He will be fine. No need to worry.” “Okay.”
