Destined to be yours… - Chapter 11
Brett and Aly reached Bluestone Academy ten minutes early before classes end. They decided to go out of the car so the kids will immediately see them going out of the gate. After few minutes of waiting, the bell rang.
Aria was the first one to go out of the gate. She looked around to find the service bus but when she saw someone familiar, she smiled widely.
“Daddy?” Aria said and ran towards her father. “Why are you here?” Aria asked still wearing her beautiful smile. “I’m here to fetch you.” Brett said. “Really? It’s been a long time since you fetch us. Big sister Harper would be surprised.” Aria said happily.
“Hi there, my sweet.” Aly said. Aly went to the washroom so Aria wasn’t able to see her. “Hello, Auntie Aly.” Aria said giving her a peck. “How’s school?” Aly asked. “It’s good, we had a quiz and I got a perfect score.” Aria said proudly. “That’s very good. What about Caden?” Aly asked. “He got one wrong answer.” Aria answered. Their chitchat was paused because Aria saw Caden and waved at him.
“Mom!” Caden shouted. “Why are you only now?” Aly asked. “I’m a cleaner, Mom.” Caden said before hugging her.
Tyler and Harper went outside together. Tyler gave a peck to his mother and Harper, just like Aria, was surprised seeing their dad.
“Have you eaten something, Dad?” Harper asked. “Why?” Brett said smiling. “You fetch us. That’s weird.” Harper said. Brett laughed.
“Where’s our car, Mom?” Tyler asked Aly. “Ahm…” Aly was speechless. “We had our lunch together. I fetched her from Heaven Scent and we go here together.” Brett answered Tyler’s question. Tyler furrowed his brow and looked at his mother. Aly smiled.
“You ate together?” Harper said with a wide smile. “Yes, it was a treat from me to her. I troubled her big time last night, right?” Brett said. Harper and Aria looked very happy while Tyler and Caden have questions in their faces looking at their mother.
“I have a lot of explaining to do.” Aly said inwardly then sighed.
“Let’s go.” Brett said. “Dad, I’m hungry.” Aria said. “Me too, Dad.” Harper said. Brett looked at Aly who’s seating on the front. “What do you want to eat?” Aly asked. “I want burger.” Aria said. “I want spaghetti, Auntie.” Harper said. “How about you, Caden?” Brett asked. “I want hotdog.” Caden answered lazily. “Tyler?” Brett said. “Anything will do.” Tyler said. Brett noticed the seriousness on Tyler and Caden’s faces. Aly looked at him and Brett smiled telling her not to worry.
“I’ll talk to them later.” Brett said to himself.
They went to a fast food chain near the school. Brett and Aly go to the ordering station to get food while the kids find a table for them to eat.
“What’s bothering you?” Harper asked Tyler. Tyler shaked his head. “What’s with the frown?” Harper asked again. “Nothing.” Tyler said. Harper sighed. He knew Tyler. When he is quiet, he’s thinking of something. At first, he will not tell it to her but after some time, he will eventually share it with her.
Brett and Aly brought the food in their table and they started to eat. Aly was looking at his son and she can tell that Tyler was thinking of something and she had an idea of what it is.
Caden is easy to handle but for his eldest, she will have difficulty.
Aly, Harper, and Aria went to the washroom leaving Brett, Caden, and Tyler behind. Brett gathered all his courage, “This is it.”
“I know this is not the right place to talk about something important but I want to tell you immediately so as to avoid misunderstanding. I will not go around the bush, boys.” Brett said and took a deep breath. ” I like your mom and I want to pursue her.” Brett said seriously. Caden laughed. “You’re face is red, Uncle.” Caden said. “It’s like a ketchup.” Caden continued. Brett smiled. “You like mom?” Caden asked. Brett nodded. “Ok.” Caden said. Brett was surprised on Caden’s answer. “Really?” Brett asked. Caden nodded. “Aria told me that she wants mom to be her mommy. And I don’t have a dad. Maybe, if your good to my mom, me, and Big brother Tyler, I might like you too to be my dad.” Caden said. Brett smiled and was relieved.
Tyler kept quiet. Brett waited for Tyler’s side but he heard nothing. He sighed. “One down, one to go.” He said to himself.
Aly, together with Harper and Aria, went out of the washroom. Brett smiled looking at the three ladies. Aly was holding Harper’s hands while Aria was hugging Aly’s waist. and they were smiling. “What a wonderful sight to see.” He said inwardly.
Brett drove the car going to Heaven Scent. When they reached the laundry shop, they all went out.
“Thanks for the treat.” Aly said. “No, problem.” Brett said smiling. “Bye, Auntie Aly.” Aria said waving her hands. “Bye, my sweet.” Aly said. Before Brett and his daughters could go inside the car, Tyler cleared his throat. “Uncle Brett, just promise me one thing, don’t make my mom cry.” Tyler said seriously. Brett smiled and said, “I won’t.”
Harper and Aria furrowed their brows while Aly smiled at his eldest.
“Dad, what was Tyler talking about?” Harper asked her dad after reaching their house. “Come here.” Brett asked his daughters to sit on the couch on their living room. “You said that you want Auntie Aly to be your second mom, right?” Brett said. “Yes, Dad!” Harper and Aria spoke at once. “I told Tyler and Caden that I will court their mom.” Brett said. “Really!?” Harper and Aria screamed at once. Brett covered his ears. “Lower down your voices, the neighbors might here you.” Brett said smiling. “Oh, Dad, we’re really happy.” Harper said. “Did Auntie said yes.” Harper said excitedly. “Not yet, sweetheart.” Brett said. “But why?” Aria said sadly. “Doesn’t she like you.” Aria continued. “For now, I can’t tell if she likes me or not. That’s why I’m courting her.” Brett said. “Don’t worry, Dad, we’ll help you.” Aria said smiling brightly. Brett smiled and hugged his daughters. “Thank you, my babies.” Brett said and kissed his daughters’ forehead. “I love you both.” Brett said. “We love you more, Dad.” Harper and Aria said together.
