Destined to be yours… - Chapter 13
Brett kept his promise. He always went to Heaven Scent to have lunch with Aly and her staffs bringing desserts everytime. Ice creams, cakes, and other pastries that all of them enjoyed. Sometimes, If he can’t make it, he will let one of his staff bring the dessert on the shop or Jackson would pick it up after delivering the laundries to thier clients. He also became a part of the “dishwasher of the day”. At first, Aly insisted not to include Brett but the later was hard headed.
As a sign of Aly’s gratitude to Brett’s desserts, she became Harper and Aria’s service bus. She’s always fetching her two boys so why not do the same with the girls.
“So, what’s up with the lover boy?” Dave teasing Brett. They were sitting on the gazebo watching their staffs doing their respective works. “Nothing much.” Brett said. “Really? Nothing much, huh! You’re always out for lunch. You had your flower delivery express. The chocolates in the grocery were almost out of stock. And yet, nothing much!?” Dave said with exaggerating voice.
“We ate with her staffs and the flowers and the chocolates were part of my courtship, right?” Brett said smiling. “Yeah, yeah, the courting thing. So, what’s the score?” Dave asked. “Did she say yes?” Dave continued. “Not yet.” Brett answered. “For how long now?” Dave asked. “A month already.” Brett replied. “What? Woah! I salute you, bro.” Dave said. “When you love someone, you’re willing to wait, even if it takes forever.”Brett said smiling. Dave shaked his head. “Cupid shot you not only with one arrow but I think it’s multiple arrows.” Dave said smiling. Brett grinned.
“While waiting, why don’t you enjoy other fling?” Dave said grinning because he saw one of their clients who had fancied Brett. Brett looked at the girl approaching them and felt a little irritated.
The girl was wearing a plunging neckline and very tight jeans. A make up covering her face that for others looked beautiful but for Brett, it was outrageously done.
“Hi, Brett!” Scarlet said smiling flirtatiously. Brett just nodded. “Where have you been? I’m always looking for you but Dave here said your out.” Scarlet continued, stroking Brett’s arm. He wasn’t able to answer Scarlet’s question because he saw Aly going out of the car, Aria pulling her. Brett’s furrowed his brow. “What’s the matter?” He said to himself.
Aly fetched the kids and normally before going to Brett’s Mister Carwash, they would drop by the grocery or a food chain to buy snacks.
“Auntie Aly, I want fries and ice cream.” Aria said. “Ok, what about you three?” Aly asked Tyler, Harper, and Caden who were busy looking at the menu list. “I would go for hash browns, Auntie.” Harper said. “I want tacos, Mom.” Caden said. “I would go for pizza.” Tyler said. “Ok!” Aly said. She ordered the kids’ snacks together with sandwiches for her and for Brett and Dave and drove going to the carwash.
While parking her car infront of the shop, she saw a girl stroking Brett’s arms. She raised her brow and frowned. Harper and Aria saw the girl too and pouted their lips. Tyler and Caden looked also on the girl with curiosity in their faces. “The bummer again.” Harper said with irritation in her voice. “Why is it she’s here again? Daddy doesn’t like that much but she’s always touching daddy whenever she’s here.” Aria said with angry face. “She’s beautiful, though, and sexy.” Tyler said that made the three girls looked at him displeased. “What?” Tyler asked innocently. Aly, Harper, and Aria gave him an angry squint. “What did I do?” Tyler asked Caden that the latter only shrugged his shoulders. Caden was busy munching his tacos and doesn’t want to be disturb.
“Auntie, let’s go.” Aria said. Aly was startled. “It’s ok, your dad is busy so we better go.” Aly said. “No, Auntie. She’s not worthy of Daddy’s time.” Aria said. “We better show that bummer that she’s not welcome here.” Harper said. “But that’s not good, girls. She’s your daddy’s client so he better entertain her or else he will lose her.” Aly said though she’s fuming inside. “It’s ok, Auntie. She’s only here to lure daddy and we didn’t like her.” Aria said. “That’s bad, Aria.” Aly said. “I’m sorry, Auntie.” Aria said. “But you have to come down.” Aria said before going out of the car and move towards the driver seat and pulled Aly.
Brett decided to walk towards Aly’s car. “What’s the matter? Why are pulling your Auntie Aly?” Brett asked Aria. “She doesn’t want to come down because she saw you and that…hhhmmmppp!” Aria said. “Aria?” Aly said. “I’m sorry, Auntie.” Brett looked at Aly. “Is there any problem?” Brett asked. “Nothing.” Aly said seriously. “Why don’t you want to come down?” Brett asked curiously. “You’re busy and I don’t want to disturb you.” Aly said. Brett felt that there something amiss and he smiled. Aly felt annoyed. “Why are you smiling?” Aly gave Brett an angry squint. Brett laughed.
The four kids looking at them were curious of what’s happening to the two adults infront of them. Harper pulled Tyler and Aria pulled Caden walking towards the gazebo.
“Hello there, beautiful girls.” Dave said. “Hi, Uncle Dave.” Harper and Aria spoke at once. “You kids are really adorable.” Scarlet said faking her smile. She knew that Brett’s daughters don’t like her but she’s pretending to be nice to them for her hidden agenda. Harper and Aria only looked at Scarlet without saying anything. Scarlet felt annoyed but still wears a smile.
“Why are you angry?” Brett asked Aly. “Me? Why should I be angry?” Aly said. “Really? Then come and let’s eat the snacks you brought.” Brett said then hold Aly’s hands pulling her towards the gazebo. Aly tried to let go of her hands from Brett’s grasp but failed to do so because it was to tight.
Scarlet looked at Aly with daggers in her eyes especially when she saw their hands.
“Hi, Aly!” Dave said. “Hello, Dave.” Aly replied. “You look more beautiful each day.” Dave said with admiration in his eyes. “Thank you, Dave.” Aly said blushing. Brett looked at Dave and the latter waved his hands smiling.
“Brett, why you’re not introducing me to your friend?” Scarlet said emphasising the word “friend”. Aly narrowed her eyes because she felt that there’s something behind in Scarlet’s words. Scarlet smiled at her sweetly. Aly smiled back that made Scarlet a little awkward.
“Aly, this is Scarlet.” Brett said without any emotions in his voice. “That’s it?” Scarlet said pouting her lips. “I thought you would say my fiancée.” Scarlet said that made Brett looked at her seriously. “What? I was just joking.” Scarlet said innocently. “Hi there, Aly. Nice to meet you.” Scarlet said faking her warm greeting. “Hello, nice to meet you too.” Aly said.
“Mommy, can you please hand me the tissue.” Aria said smiling. “Yes, dear.” Aly said. Brett was flabbergasted. Dave was surprised. Scarlet raised her brow. Harper and Aria smiled widely. Tyler and Caden shaked their heads. And for Aly, it was too late. Her face redden.
