Destined to be yours… - Chapter 17

Aly gave the medicine to Brett. After a while, Brett, because of the effect of the medicine he took, felt sleepy.

“Don’t dare to leave. If you do, you’ll know the consequence.” Brett said looking at Aly that the latter blushed remembering what had happened when she tried to get out from the bed. Aly looked at Brett with narrowed eyes. “Don’t worry, you will not have the chance again. I’ll just go home to get my clothes and Caden’s clothes. You should rest to bring back your strength.” Aly said with her brow raised. Brett smiled and nodded then closed his eyes.

“Aria, I will go home to get our clothes. You two stay here with Nanny Laura.” Aly said. “I will go with you, Auntie.” Aria said holding her hands. “No need, my sweet. I will come back immediately because I will prepare our lunch.” Aly said. “Promise, Auntie?” Aria said. “Yes, promise, and besides Caden is still here.” Aly said smiling. “Ok, Auntie.” Aria said and continued playing with Caden.

“Mommy, please bring my toys.” Caden said. “Ok!” Aly said and went out of the house.

After getting what she needs, Aly locked the house and drove towards her laundry shop. “How’s the nurse on duty?” Amelia asked while Aly is entering the shop. Aly rolled her eyes because she knew Amelia was teasing her. “I will not come here until Sunday. I will go back to work on Monday. Call me if there will be problems.” Aly said. Amelia raised her brow. “And why?” Amelia asked curiously. Aly was hesitant to tell her friend because she knew Amelia will tease.

“Harper asked me to stay with his dad and sister. You knew that Brett is sick, right? Harper and Caden were at their retreat.” Aly said. Amelia looked at her meaningfully. “Are you now a couple?” Amelia asked smiling. “No!” Aly said. Amelia laughed. “Really?” Amelia asked with a teasing voice. “Yes! I’m only doing this for the kids.” Aly said. “Ok, you’re not a couple but you’re living together?” Amelia said smiling. “Hey, it’s only for three days and besides we have different rooms and with the kids, of course.” Aly said. Amelia laughed. “You’re too guilty. Ok! Enjoy your three days vacation.” Amelia said. Aly blushed.

When Aly reached the house, she went directly to Brett’s room. She touched his forehead and there’s a slight fever. Brett was in deep sleep that he never felt Aly’s hands. “Maybe, he’s telling the truth a while ago. I should give him the fever medicine for 24 hrs.” She murmured and went out of the room.

Caden and Aria are still playing in the living room while Nanny Laura is cleaning the house. Aly started to prepare the ingredients for their lunch. She will cook homemade chicken soup and pork roast with onion gravy.

“Caden, Aria? What do you want for snacks?” Aly asked. “I want mojos, Mom.” Caden said. “Aria?” Aly asked. “Fries, Auntie.” Aria said. “Ok.” Aly said.

After a while, the three of them, together with Nanny Laura, are sitting on the dining table munching the snacks prepared by Aly.

“I’m really happy today. If only Big brother Tyler and Big sister Harper are here, we’re one big happy family.” Aria said with a wide smile. Caden was busy eating but he nodded. Aly is blushing and Nanny Laura noticed it and she smiled.

“It’s the first time that Sir Brett brought a woman here.” Nanny Laura said while they’re in the kitchen. Aly is busy cooking. Nanny Laura already finished her tasks. She insisted in helping Aly but the latter said, “Just sit there and watch me” with a smile in her face.

“I worked here five years ago afer her wife died and I didn’t see any woman stepped into this house, it’s only you, Ma’am.” Nanny Laura said. “Stop calling me ma’am, you can call me Aly.” Aly said. “In the future, you’ll be part of this household too. I can see the kids liked you a lot and Sir Brett too.” Nanny Laura continued. Aly blushed. She kept quiet and Nanny Laura keep talking. “You looked good together. If people will see you, they would think that you’re already a husband and a wife.” Nanny Laura said.

“Ouch!” Aly said that made Nanny Laura hurriedly moved towards Aly. “What happened?” Nanny Laura asked worriedly. “I was scalded by the pot cover. You’re too talkative, Laura.” Aly said but with a smile on her face. “I’m sorry.” Nanny Laura said and looked at Aly apologetically. “It’s ok, I’m used to it. When I’m cooking, I always get burns.” Aly said. “Go get the kids, I will wake up Brett.” Aly continued. “Yes, Ma’am!” Nanny Laura making a salute. Aly smiled.

“Brett?” Aly said patting his shoulders. Brett was half awake when Aly entered his room. “Let’s eat, you should take again your fever medicine. You had s slight fever a while ago.” Aly said. Brett smiled. He got up from bed but before he stand up, he embrace Aly on her waist. Aly was startled.

“It’s a great feeling when someone is taking care of you when your sick. I like it when everytime I wake up, it’s you I see. I hope everyday will be like this.” Brett said. He raised his head looking at Aly. Aly is blushing too much. Brett smiled. He stood up and looked at Aly intently.

“You’re blushing makes you more appealing. Don’t blush like that infront of other men.” Brett said. Aly was captivated with Brett’s eyes. She tried to concentrate and cleared her throat. “Ehem…the lunch is already prepared. Let’s go to the kitchen, the kids are waiting.” Aly said diverting her eyes. Brett smiled. “Ok, let’s go.” Brett said pulling Aly outside his room.

Aly, because she was absent minded, didn’t noticed that Brett was holding her hands. When they reached the kitchen, Aria, Caden, and Nanny Laura were already sitting on the dining table. The three were looking at them curiously but with teasing smiles. Aly was puzzled. Nanny Laura pointed their hands using her mouth. That’s when Aly realised that the two of them were holding hands. She immediately pulled her hand away from Brett’s hands. She blushed again but Brett only shrugged his shoulders. Aly pouted her lips. Nanny Laura giggled.

Outside Brett’s house, there are two cars parking infront of the gate. The two person from one car went outside, same with the persons of the other car. Two men and two women curiously looking at each other.

“Good afternoon, we’re looking for my daughter and grandsons. Her staff directed us here. Do you know who leaves here?” The women asked. “My son and granddaughters reside here. Please, come in. Let’s see if they are inside.” The other woman said. And the four of them went inside the house.
