Destined to be yours… - Chapter 21

Aly is cooking breakfast while the kids are cleaning the house. Aria is sweeping the floor while Caden is dusting the furnitures. Brett wanted to help the kids but Aly didn’t allowed him, afraid that his fever will come back. He was only sitting at the dining table watching Aly.

“I think we should go to the grocery.” Aly said while cutting avocado for her Avocado and Poached Egg Toast. She looked back when she heard nothing from Brett. “Hey!” Aly said smiling when she saw Brett was in another world.

“Let’s live together.” Brett said seriously. Aly looked at Brett with her eyes widely opened. “What are you talking about?” Aly said with a surprised tone. “I like to see you everyday.” Brett said walking towards her. “It’s only our first day as a couple and yet you wanted us to live here? What about my house?” Aly said frying the egg. “We can sell the house and invest the money on a business.” Brett said embracing her from behind. “Hey, the kids are here.” Aly said. “I’m just hugging you.” Brett said kissing her neck. “Stop it.” Aly said, feeling his kisses makes her shiver.

“Mommy, we’re done. I’m hungry.” Caden said. “Ok, wait a little.” Aly said but Brett is still hugging her. “Let go, Mr. Navarro. I can’t finish my cooking.” Aly said. Brett pouted his lips and let her go. Aly smiled because of Brett’s childish act.

“Caden, you want to live here?” Brett asked the child while they’re eating breakfast. Aly rolled her eyes. “Live here, why?” Caden asked curiously. “So that we will be happy together.” Brett said. “Aria and you can go to school together. After school, you can play together with Big sister Harper and Big brother Tyler.” Brett said hoping that Caden will agree. Caden was munching his toast but thinking. “During weekends, we can take a vacation in beaches or to places you want to go and can enjoy playing.” Brett said trying to bribe Caden. Aly was looking at Brett with narrowed eyes but the latter only smiled at her sweetly.

“Really, Dad?” Aria asked smiling brightly. “Come on, Caden. We can do our assignments together, we can review our examinations together then we can play.” Aria said pleading Caden. Caden looked at her mom with asking eyes. Brett blocked Aly. “I will buy you the toys you want.” Brett winking at Caden. Aly spanked Brett but the latter only laughed.

“If Big brother Tyler will agree then we’ll live here.” Caden said that made Brett sighed. Aly giggled. Aria felt sad and got a little annoyed with Caden.

After breakfast, the kids took a bath, same with Brett and Aly. They decided to go to the grocery.

Aly is drying her hair when Brett entered her room. He gets the towel from Aly’s hands and dries her hair. “Aly?” Brett said. “Hhhmmm…?” Aly replied. “What are Tyler’s likes and dislikes?” Brett said that made Aly laughed. “Caden is easy to bribe but for Tyler, you’ll have difficulty.” Aly said smiling. “That’s why I’m asking you. Please, help me.” Brett said pitifully. Aly giggled seeing Brett’s face. “I don’t want. Try your best and good luck.” Aly said smiling. “Really?” Brett said and Aly became alarmed. Her screamed filled the room. Brett started to tickle her. “Oh, hahaha, stop, hahaha.” Aly said while trying to let herself away from Brett’s tickling hands. “Are you going to help me?” Brett said smiling. “Ok, ok, stop already.” Aly said feeling weak. Brett stopped and let Aly sit on his lap.

“Tyler wants to read books particularly those of the detective stories.” Aly started talking while Brett is listening to her encircling his hands on Aly’s waist. “He wants to draw and sometimes, sketching too.” Aly continued, Brett nodded. “I don’t think he will agree immediately. And do you think I already agree?” Aly said looking at Brett.

“Don’t you want to live here?” Brett asked, Aly sighed. “We’re on our “getting to know” each other” stage and still we barely knew each other’s likes and dislikes, our attitudes.” Aly said. “That’s the reason why I like you to live here.” Brett said. “What will people think that all of a sudden, we’re living together but not yet married.” Aly said. “Today, live in partners are all over the place.” Brett said. “Still, for the kids, I don’t think it’s a good idea.” Aly said that made Brett a little sad.

“Mr. Navarro, even if we’re not living together, we can still see each other and have our vacations as what you have said a while ago.” Aly trying to make Brett feel better. “We can, ahm,…” Aly didn’t finish her sentence. Brett smiled ear to ear. “We can have our own time, just the two of us?” Brett said excitedly. Aly blushed and nodded. “Ok!” Brett said happily.

“Dad, we’re ready.” Aria said. “We’re coming.” Brett said but before going out, he gave a quick kiss to Aly and pulled the latter outside.

“Cuz, hurry up. I still have to buy a birthday gift for tomorrow.” Scarlet said. “Just wait a little longer. It’s still early, the mall will close late at night.” Scarlet’s cousin said. “I’m bored here.” Scarlet said pouting her lips. Her cousin shaked his head. “You’re the one who wanted to join me.” Scarlet’s cousin said. “I have no choice. My car is in the autoshop.” Scarlet pouting her lips. “Be good, I will not accompany you tomorrow.” Scarlet’s cousin said smiling. “Yeah, yeah. I will look around again. Tell the manager be quick or else I will complain them to their boss.” Scarlet said that made her cousin sighed.

“Mommy Aly, I want chicken for dinner.” Aria said holding Aly’s hands. “Ok!” Aly replied. “Mom, Uncle Brett and I will go to the toy store.” Caden said. Aly looked at Brett but the latter on shrugged his shoulders. “Ok, but don’t waste money on toys that are not suitable for your age.” Aly said. “Ok, mommy!” Caden said and pulled Brett.

“Mr. Salazar, your supplies were packed. My crew will help you to put it on your car.” The manager of the store said. “Ok, wait here, I’ll find my cousin.” Mr. Salazar said and the manager smiled shyly.

Brett and Caden were busy looking for a toy when someone hooked her arm on Brett’s arm. “Hello there, Brett.” Scarlet said seductively. Brett felt annoyed but didn’t show it to the lady. He removed her arms and move a little away from her. Scarlet felt displeased on Brett’s move. “What are you doing here?” Brett asked seriously. “Oh, I’m here with my cousin. He bought supplies for his restaurant.” Scarlet said smiling.

“Uncle Brett, I can’t find anything. Let’s look for drawing materials instead.” Caden said. “Hello there, handsome.” Scarlet said looking at Caden. “You looked familiar.” Scarlet said. “Come, let’s look for your mom.” Brett said leaving behind Scarlet. “Hey, wait for me.” Scarlet said holding Brett arms again.

“Mommy!” Caden called his mom. Aly looked around and narrowed her eyes seeing Scarlet holding her man. Brett removed Scarlet hands harshly seeing Aly’s eyes. Both of the men walked towards the two ladies.

“Are you done?” Brett said. “Yes, honey. Let’s go home and I will cook your favourite dish.” Aly said sweetly while encircling her arms on Brett’s waist. Brett was startled. Aly winked at him.

Scarlet was fuming inside. Aly looked at her with her serious face as if saying “Back off, bitch, he’s already mine”.
