As the couple stand up from the couch, Aria and Caden went out of the room as the same time. Brett grinned and whispered, “Just on time.” Aly blushed and spanked Brett’s shoulders, the latter only laughed.

“Mommy Aly, I’m hungry.” Aria said. “Ok, I’ll prepare something. Just wait a little while.” Aly said.

“Mom?” Caden called Aly. “Yes, sweetheart?” Aly said. “What was that?” Caden asked pointing the red mark on her neck. Brett giggled. Aly gave him an angry squint. “There was a bug a while ago and bit me.” Aly said not looking on Caden’s eyes. Brett continued to giggle. “Dad, why are you giggling?” Aria said curiously. “Oh, nothing.” Brett said.

Aly walked towards the kitchen to avoid further questions about the BUG’S BITE. She prepared the snacks of the kids and theirs too.

A knock from the door made them stopped eating. Brett moved towards the door and opened it. “Bro, I missed you!” Dave entered the house while attempting to hug Brett. “Why are you here?” Brett asked avoiding Dave’s embrace. “I’m lonely, I’m sad, because my partner is sick and I can help it, I will take care of you.” Dave said smiling. Brett gave him a narrowed look and Dave became a behave puppy waving his hands. Brett shaked his head.

“Hi, Aly! Hi, kiddos!” Dave said sitting with them on the dining table. “Hi, Dave! Coffee? Juice?” Aly asked smiling. “Coffee, dear.” Dave said jokingly. Brett spanked his back. “Ouch! You’re hurting me!” Dave said faking the pain.

“Why are you here?” Brett asked. “Visiting you, what else?” Dave said sipping the coffee. “Hhhmmm, this is the best coffee I’ve ever tasted.” Dave said smiling. Aly smiled back. Brett rolled his eyes.

“Stop flirting with my girlfriend!” Brett said looking a little annoyed. Dave spat the coffee on his mouth and looked alternately to Brett and Aly. The couple smiled seeing the surprised face of Dave.

“Since when?” Dave asked. “Yesterday.” Brett said. “Why?” Dave asked looking at Aly. “What why!?” Brett asked throwing a kitchen towel to his friend. “Did he forced you? Black mailed, maybe?” Dave continued teasing Brett. Aly laughed. “Are you really my friend?” Brett asked Dave and the latter laughed.

“Seriously speaking, I’m happy for you both. Don’t worry, Aly, Brett here is a good man. I know, he will make you happy.” Dave said. Brett smiled hearing his friend’s words. “I’ll take care of his girls from now on.” Dave said that made the couple laughed.

“When will you come back?” Dave asked Brett while they’re at the porch. The kids are watching cartoons on the living room while Aly is preparing their dinner. “I’ll be at the office on Monday. How’s the shop?” Brett asked. “Jam packed, as usual.” Dave said.

“So, how’s the new love birds doing?” Dave said teasing Brett, the latter smiled. “No need to answer, I can see it in your eyes.” Dave continued. “But, bro, next time, don’t put it on the neck.” Dave said. Brett laughed. “I thought you’re liberated. You have different girls every week and yet you’re lecturing me about love bites.” Brett said grinning. “Yeah, yeah, but I’m not that liberated as you. I put it on hidden places.” Dave said smiling. Brett laughed. “I only put a mark that she’s already mine.” Brett said seriously.

“I smell something fishy.” Dave said. “Yesterday, we met Scarlet and her cousin at the grocery. She’s looking at Aly as if he wants to eat her alive.” Brett said with irritations in his voice. Dave laughed. “He’s only looking, bro. Aly is beautiful and, I know you will agree with me, she’s so alluring especially when she’s smiling.” Dave said. “Yeah, I know, I want to keep her inside my house but I know she will not agree. When men are looking at her, I want to poke their eyes.” Brett said. “What a possessive boyfriend?” Dave said shaking his head. “Bro, having a good relationship is not only build with love itself. You should also trust your partner.” Dave said seriously. “Woah, is that you, Dave?” Brett said. It’s his turn to tease his friend. “Where did it come from?” Brett said making Dave scratched his head. “I’m better in advising but I can’t apply it to myself.” Dave said. Both the men laughed.

“Dave, have dinner with us.” Aly said. “Sure!” Dave said. “I think my staffs can manage even without me.” Dave continued.

While preparing the table, Aly’s phone rang. It’s Amelia. “Hello, is there a problem?” Aly asked. “Nothing, I just want to know how are you doing with your boyfriend to be.” Amelia said teasing Aly. “Excuse me, he already is.” Aly said. “What????” Amelia screamed and Aly put away her phone from her ears. “What are you talking about? You only told me that you will take care of him and now he’s already your boyfriend?” Amelia still screaming. “Please, lower down your voice.” Aly said. “Tell me!” Amelia said. “Yes, he’s already my boyfriend and it was only yesterday.” Aly said. “I’ll tell you the whole story on Monday.” Aly continued. “No, I will go there tomorrow.” Amelia said. “You can’t.” Aly replied. “And why?” Amelia asked with her raised brow. “We’re going to fetch Harper and Tyler from their retreat and we’ll go to Brett’s old house.” Aly said continuously. “Meeting the in laws already.” Amelia said. “I already met them.” Aly said. “You better tell me the whole story on Monday.” Amelia said. “Yeah!” Aly said and ended the call.

“Who was that?” Brett said moving beside her. “It’s Amelia.” Aly answered. “Problem?” Brett asked putting his arms on Aly’s waist. “Just like Dave, she called to tease me. Aly smiled. “You told her?” Brett asked. “Yeah, and she freaked out.” Aly said. “I think I better bring more desserts on Monday.” Brett said. “I think you should.” Aly said and the couple laughed.

“Stop your PDA. You’re polluting my innocence.” Dave said grinning. “Innocence my foot.” Brett said hugging Aly. “Oh, come on!” Dave said faking his annoyance. Brett laughed.

Brett helped Aly to prepare the table and enjoyed the meal together with the kids and Dave.
