Destined to be yours… - Chapter 31
Brett and the kids helped each other in arranging the two rooms that they will share during their stay on the house.
“Dad, is Mommy Aly going to be alright?” Harper asked. “Yes, dear. She’ll be fine. She have me, of course!” Brett said proudly that made his daughters giggled. “Well, that can be proven because when we are sick, you’re the one taking care of us.” Aria said smiling at his dad. “Dad, maybe, Auntie Aly got it from you.” Harper said. “Yeah, I guess, and maybe because of exhaustion.” Brett said.
“We’ll be going, Dad, we have to finish our homeworks.” Aria said. Brett nodded.
The kids stay at the study room while Brett is waiting for the soup Nanny Laura is cooking.
“Not yet done?” Brett said a little bored. “Sir, this soup should be cook with patience and love so it will be effective.” Laura said while stirring the casserole. “By the way, what is that?” Brett said curiously. “It’s a Chinese soup taught to me by my grandmother. It’s really effective for fever. This is the one I’m making when Harper and Aria are sick. I wasn’t able to make this for you when you’re sick but you can taste it, Sir.” Laura said continuously. Brett shrugged his shoulders.
After few minutes, the soup was done. Brett brought the bowl inside Aly’s room. He knocked then went inside but found no one was on the bed.
“Aly?” Brett called. “I’m here.” Aly said while in the bath. “What are you doing?” Brett asked and he heard no response but the door opened and Aly went out. “I pee, of course.” Aly said. “What’s that?” Aly curiously asked looking at the bowl. “Nanny Laura made it. It’s good for your fever.” Brett said guiding Aly towards the edge of the bed. “Does it taste good?” Aly asked. Brett shrugged his shoulders. “I don’t know but Harper and Aria liked it.” Brett said. Aly was hesitating to have a taste. “Can I just drink my medicine without eating that?” Aly asked and Brett smiled. “Taste it first.” Brett said. Aly sighed. “Ok.” Aly said
Brett fed Aly and the latter liked the soup. “You’re right, it’s delicious.” Aly said. Brett smiled and gave Aly the fever medicine. “I want to go down.” Aly said. “Are you ok?” Brett asked. “I’m feeling better now though my head is a little heavy and my body still aches but not the same as before.” Aly said. “Then you stay here, don’t loiter around.” Brett said. “But I’m quite bored here. My body will ache more if I will only lay on bed.” Aly said pouting her lips. “Your virus will spread and the kids might get sick.” Brett said that made Aly raised her brow. “But you’re the one who started it.” Aly said. “Yeah, that’s why I’m here to be your handsome caregiver.” Brett said smiling widely that made Aly rolled her eyes. “Really, handsome?” Aly said. “Yeah, handsome hunk.” Brett said and Aly giggled. “Yeah, yeah, I think I’ll sleep again. The air here became strong and cold.” Aly said that made Brett puzzled. “Why, you have fever again?” Brett asked curiously. “No, because you’re too proud of yourself.” Aly said smiling. Brett laughed.
Aly slept again. Brett went out to check on the kids who are still busy doing their assignments.
“Uncle Brett, how’s Mommy?” Tyler asked. “She’s sleeping right now. She said she’s much better now. She’ll get well soon. Nanny Laura made her a magic soup.” Brett said winking at the kids. “Magic soup?” Caden asked curiously. “Yeah, it will make the fever gone.” Brett said. “Really?” Caden asked again. “Yeah, trust me, your mom will be ok later.” Brett said.
Dinner was served. The kids ate together with Nanny Laura. Brett brought the food to Aly.
“Aly?” Brett said. “Wake up, dinner’s here.” Brett said. Aly slowly opened her eyes and smiled seeing Brett. “Feeling better?” Brett asked. Aly nodded and got up from bed, Brett helping her.
“I can eat on my own now.” Aly said while getting the spoon and fork from Brett’s hands. “No, I’ll feed you. It’s my turn to take care of you.” Brett said. “Thank you.” Aly said shyly. “You’re always welcome, my love.” Brett said that made Aly blushed.
“Mom!” Caden called. “Yes, dear.” Aly said. “Can we come in?” Aria asked. “I don’t think so. You’re Mommy still have the virus. You might get sick if you stay here.” Brett said and Aly spanked him. “Ouch!” Brett’s said rubbing his shoulder. “As if I’m a carrier of a deadly disease.” Aly said pouting her lips. “I’m just being careful. It’s hard if this handsome caregiver will take care of you and the four of them.” Brett said grinning, Aly rolled her eyes.
“Ok, Dad, just kiss Mommy Aly for us. Good night, Mommy Aly.” Aria said. “Hope you’re ok tomorrow.” Harper said. “Love you, Mommy.” Tyler and Caden spoke at once. “Good night and sweet dreams, my loves.” Aly said and after, she heard footsteps going away of her room.
“You heard the kids, they said, I should kiss you good night.” Brett said smiling. “I have a virus, right? So, I don’t think you could kiss me.” Aly said preparing herself to sleep. “Oh, dear, I’m not scared of the virus you have. And you know, it came from me so now, I have an antibody against it.” Brett said teasing Aly. Aly kept quiet and cover herself with the bedding. “Good night!” Aly said. “Darling, sweetheart, love…” Brett said sweetly laying beside Aly but he got no response. “Honey…?” Brett said stoking Aly’s back. Aly was smiling under the bedding but she have to punish her caregiver. Brett sighed. Suddenly, his stomach growled. Aly laughed. Brett scratched his head.
“I forgot my dinner.” Brett said rubbing his stomach. Aly felt guilty. “He was busy taking care of me and the kids.” She said inwardly. She got up from bed and pulled Brett. “Hey, where are you going? I can eat by myself. You stay here.” Brett said. Aly didn’t respond but instead she faced Brett and kissed him.
Brett was dumbfounded but later put his arms around Aly’s body and kissed her back. They shared a torid kiss that Brett forgot his hunger but it sounded again that made Aly giggled and ended the kiss. “Let’s go, eat first.” Aly said. “But I want to eat something else.” Brett said grinning. “Pervert!” Aly said. Brett laughed.
