Destined to be yours… - Chapter 37
“Mom, I want to pee.” Caden said. “Ok, I want too. Let’s stop on a gasoline station. Tell me if you see one.” Aly said and his sons nodded.
It is a six hours travel going to their destination. They are half way through before reaching the place. The four cars were in a convoy and Aly’s car was infront.
“Mom.” Tyler said pointing a gas station. She made a signal on her tail light and the rest followed. They parked the cars near the comfort room and Caden hurriedly went out of the car.
Infront of the convenience store, Navarro’s minibus was parked. They were inside buying snacks. Brett was left inside the bus lazily resting on the chair. When he changed his position, his eyes saw a familiar figure coming out of the car. He blinked his eyes again to make it sure that he’s not seeing things. “Aly?” He said inwardly. He became excited and rushed out hurriedly.
Aly went out of her car. When she was about to walk going to the comfort room, someone hugged her from behind. Aly stiffened. She was about to dodge but he spoke. “I thought I was only imagining things because I’ve miss you so much already.” Brett said and Aly smiled.
Brett’s family and Aly’s family saw the couple. They were grinning seeing their public display of affection.
When the kids saw each and everyone they became excited and happy. They share their snacks while sitting on the tables and chairs available outside the store. Tyler and Caden introduced the Andrada’s cousins to the Navarro’s cousins. Because they were all kids, formal introduction is not needed, after eating, they played.
Meanwhile, the adults introduced and greeted each and everyone.
“Aly, dear, Brett told us the story about having the same anniversary and cause of death of your past beloved. It was really a twist of faith.” Mrs. Navarro said. Aly just smiled. “By the way, where’s your husband’s resting place?” Mrs. Navarro asked. “It’s on Sun and Moon Beach Resort, Auntie.” Aly said. Mrs. Navarro’s eyes opened widely, Brett choked on his food, and the rest of the Navarro Family dropped their jaws. Aly’s family became curious on Brett’s family’s reaction.
“Destiny is really playing well in your lives, dear.” Mrs. Navarro said that made Aly wonder. “Why, Auntie?” Aly asked curiously.
“My wife’s tomb was placed on the mountain side near that beach resort. It was her request on her will.” Brett said. Aly and the rest of her family were the ones now who were surprised.
“My husband’s ashes were dispersed on that beach. He told me that when he’s still alive.” Aly said.
They all became quiet. No one said anything. They can only hear the laughters and the noise of the kids. In their minds, their asking, coincidence, fate, destiny maybe.
“Where are you staying there? We have rented a house, maybe, we can share it to you so our vacation will be more happy and fun.” Mrs. Andrada said breaking the silence. “Is that ok with you? Usually, we’re staying on a beach house near the mountain.” Mrs. Navarro. “Yes, it will be great.” Mrs. Andrada said smiling. “Then, it’s settled. We’ll be staying in one roof. Oh, I’m excited. As if we’re having a family celebration, maybe, an engagement party!” Mrs. Navarro said looking at the couple. Brett only smiled while Aly blushed.
“Why don’t you join me on the bus? I’m really bored there. They have all their partners while I’m hugging my bag.” Brett said pouting his lips. Aly rolled her eyes. “We only parted ways last night and yet you wanted me to be at your side again? What if you become tired of me?” Aly said. “That, my love, will never happen. I like being with you always. If only I could stick to you like a glue like this.” Brett said while hugging Aly tightly. “Hey, I can’t breathe.” Aly said shyly because all eyes are on them with meaningful glares.
“How about my car?” Aly said letting herself away from Brett’s embrace but the latter even made his embrace a lot tighter. Their families were smiling seeing Brett’s childishness. “Leave it here.” Brett said. “What?” Aly said shockingly.
“Ok, guys, my husband will drive your car, I will accompany him. Just grant this brother of mine his request. And I’m sure the kids will love it too because they’ll continue playing inside the bus.” Brianna said and made Brett beamed with happy smile. “Thank you, Sis. I owe you one.” Brett said and Brianna smiled back. “You’re the eldest but seeing you like this, others may think that your the spoiled younger brother.” Aly said that made the rest laughed.
They continued their trip and after three hours more, they reached the place. Because the Andradas were frequenter at the beach, the managers and the staffs already knew them. Mrs. Andrada also made a reservation ahead of time so their house was completely cleaned and arranged. They only made minor adjustments of the rooms because the Navarros are with them.
“Ma’am, your mother said that you’re staying at the same room with your soon-to-be husband. Is it ok with you?” The manager asked shyly. He had a long time crush on Aly and even he knew now that she have her fiancé, his admiration didn’t faded. “What? She said that?” Aly asked making her face red. The manager nodded.
Aly thought that Brett and her have shared rooms in the past but it’s different now. They’re on the resting place of their late beloved. “Is it right to do it, is it a way of disrespect them?” Aly asked inwardly.
Brett saw the admiration on the manager’s eyes and it made him a little annoyed. “What’s the problem, love?” Brett said sweetly, putting his hands on Aly’s waist. The manager felt awkward. “Ahm, Sir, your mother-in-law told me that instead of her sons, you will be on Ma’am Aly’s room.” The manager said. “Oh,really. That will be great.” Brett said excitedly. “Ouch!” Brett said because Aly pinched his side and gave him an angry glare. Brett smiled.
“If that’s what my mother-in-law said, then, let it be.” Brett said. Aly will pinched him again but he was able to avoid it and ran towards Mrs. Andrada who was talking to her husband and the old couple of the Navarros.
“Auntie, Aly doesn’t want to do your request.” Brett said giving Aly a teasing smile. Aly rolled her eyes. “You’re really like a kid.” Aly said. “What’s the problem,Aly?” Mrs. Navarro asked. “Well, Auntie, my beautiful mother here ordered the manager that Brett and I will be in the same room.” Aly said hoping that Mrs. Navarro will be against it but to her dismay, Brett found another ally. “Oh, dear, that would be great. A pre-honeymoon,am I right, Amiga?” Mrs. Navarro said looking at Mrs. Andrada. “Yes, yes! That’s why I’ve decided it not asking them both. Besides, dear, you’re both older now. Maybe, you can give us more grandchildren in the future.” Mrs. Andrada said. Mr. Navarro and Mr. Andrada are just shaking their heads on their wives’ scheme. Brett was rejoicing. Aly felt helpless on the concensus of the people infront of her.
