Destined to be yours… - Chapter 39...
Inside the room, Brett is still whistling. Aly felt a little irritated.
“Will you stop that?” Aly said. Brett pointed himself innocently. “What did I do?” Brett asked smiling. “Hmmp…” Aly gave an angry squint that made Brett laughed.
Aly decided to take a shower to avoid Brett’s teasing. After her bath, Brett followed. When Brett went out of the comfort room, he furrowed his brow. Aly is laying on the bed covering her whole body with a blanket. Brett shaked his head while smiling.
After changing into comfortable sleep wear, Brett laid on Aly’s side but the latter didn’t move. He move closer but still no movement from Aly.
“Ehem…” Brett cleared his throat. Aly removed the blanket and faced Brett. Brett smiled sweetly.
“Let’s talk.” Aly said. “Ok!” Brett said still wearing a seductive smile. “I’m serious!” Aly said that made Brett looked at her curiously.
“We’re here to remember our late beloved. We’re here to pay them our respect. So, please, no…ahm…” Aly said hesitating to tell Brett about doing the deed. “What?” Brett said. Aly blushed. Brett smiled understanding what Aly meant. “Love making?” Brett said and Aly nodded but her face became more crimson. Brett giggled.
“Ok, love.” Brett said and kissed Aly’s forehead. “Thank you.” Aly said. “But when we return home, can we… Ouch!” Brett didn’t finished his sentence because Aly pinched him hard. “Ok, let’s sleep.” Brett said. They dozed off embracing each other.
Twelve midnight…
“Aly?” Brett said patting Aly’s shoulder. “Hhhmmm…” Aly’s only response. Brett gave a kiss on Aly’s lips and said, “Merry Christmas.” Aly smiled and slowly opened her eyes. “Merry Christmas.” Aly said. “I love you.” Brett said. “I love you too.” Aly said and kissed Brett on his lips and burried her face on his neck. Then, they sleep again.
“Mom! Dad! Wake up.” The kids shouted while knocking the door. Because of excitement, the four youngsters woke up early.
Brett and Aly opened their eyes, looked at each other and smiled. They can feel the excitement from the voices outside. Brett stood up and opened the door.
“Mom, get up!” Caden said running towards the bed followed by Tyler, Harper, and Aria. “You’re really that excited even forgetting to greet us?” Aly said raising her brow. “Oh, Merry Christmas, Mom, Uncle Brett.” Caden said. “Merry Christmas!” Brett and Aly spoke at once and gave a tight hug to their sons and daughters.
After preparing themselves, they walked out from their rooms going to the buffet where the others are already taking their breakfast. They greeted each and everyone a “Merry Christmas”.
After breakfast, Brett, Aly, and the kids rode a rented boat and sailed towards the center of the beach. They were all wearing a life vest. Brett and the kids knew how to swim but Aly doesn’t . Before, she would grab her sons arms but because Brett was with them now, her hands were holding his arms tightly. Brett embraced Aly letting her know that she’s safe with him.
When they reach the place, they let the candles and the flowers float on water and silently say their prayers.
“Mr. Navarro! I’m here to ask you the hands of your wife. Please, give me your blessings.” Brett shouted that made his companions surprised. “I will cherish and love her. I will make her happy. I will take care of her, Tyler and Caden. I will be their dad, their friend, and their protector. Please allow me to do that for them!” Brett continued shouting. Aly’s eyes started to well up with tears while the kids, though surprised, can’t avoid giggling. The boater can’t hide his smile hearing Brett’s asking permission from a deceased one.
“Uncle Brett!” Tyler called pointing a black butterfly roaming around him. “He already answered you.” The boater said smiling. Brett smiled too and said to the butterfly, “Thank you” and hugged Aly tightly.
They returned to the shore and rode Aly’s car goind to the mountain side. It will take them thirty minutes before reaching the place. Aly and her sons enjoyed the sceneries. Even Harper and Aria were familiar to the place, still, they can’t resist admiring the view.
Finally, they reached their destination. Brett parked the car. “We’ll walk from here.” Brett said. “How far?” Aly asked. “It’s only 15 minutes.” Brett said then holds Aly’s hands. They started walking.
Fifteen minutes after…
“I thought she’s all alone here.” Aly said seeing a private cemetery. Brett smiled. “She saw this when we had our summer vacation here.” Brett said. Harper and Aria lighted the candles they brought while Tyler and Caden placed the bouquet of flowers above the tomb. They closed their eyes and silently prayed.
“Please allow me to love your husband and your daughters. I will love them more than you do. I will take good care of them. Be the mother to your kids and be a loving wife to your husband. Please, let me do that for them.” Aly said silently in her prayers.
Just like what happened to Brett when they were on the beach, a butterfly flew around Aly. The only difference was, it’s white. It continuously fly then rested on Aly’s shoulders. “Thank you.” Aly said whispering. Aly looked at Brett and smiled sweetly.
The couple and the kids left the cemetery and drove to the not so far adventure camp. Because it’s a holiday, the place was jam-packed. The kids started to line up to the activities they wanted to try while Brett and Aly tried to get a room for them but failed. Even the campsite was already full. The couple told the kids that they can’t stay there for the night. The kids understood the situation so they just spent the whole day having adventures on the zip line and rock climbing.
The couple patiently waited for their kids. They sat on an empty bench, holding hands, embracing, and snuggling. The people on the area can’t avoid looking at them not only because of their handsome and gorgeous faces but also to their sweetness overload.
Night came, they went back to the house and had dinner with the rest. Their days were spent doing beach activities. Having scavenger hunt, playing volleyball and kickball, hiding objects in the sand and around the area for the kids to have treasure hunt, hold an obstacle or relay race and the likes. They really enjoyed and had fun.
New Year’s eve…
“Where are the kids?” Aly asked particularly looking for her sons and Brett’s daughters. “I hardly see them the whole day.” Aly continued. Brett shrugged his shoulders but he’s also curious about his kids too.
“Don’t worry, they must be busy with something. You will see them later.” Mrs. Navarro said smiling. The rest were smiling too because they knew about an event that will happen later and the couple have no idea at all.
