Destiny-changing Rain - C33
All of the martial artists descended from the mountain, and the Witch Mountain Sect returned to its former tranquil state. The sun slowly set in the west, and the glow of the sunset brightened up the horizon. Dusk enveloped the mountain, and a wisp of the setting sun scattered across the pond in the courtyard. In the pond, red goldfish were snatching at the food beneath the lotus leaves, and occasionally the fish would jump up and splash into the air.
The two of them supported the injured Su Guangren as he walked over from the other end of the corridor. Su Guangren covered his chest with one hand and put his other hand on his junior brother’s shoulder. “Junior brother Yu, where’s master?”
One of them, Junior Yu, replied, “Master went back to his room to rest after dinner.”
The other one said, “Mistress is currently in the kitchen frying herbs for you and Third Senior Brother. She told us to help you rest after your meal. When the medicine is ready, we can send it over.”
Su Guangren looked at his junior brother worriedly and asked, “Are you alright, second junior brother?”
The younger disciple replied, “He’s fine, much less injured than you. Why do you think Master let that demon Liu Feng go down the mountain? That devil should have been hacked into pieces, and even injured Villa Owner Pu Zi. ”
Su Guangren supported his Junior Brother as he carefully walked forward and replied, “It’s not that Master’s character is unclear and won’t cause trouble, but the slanderous words that Liu Feng said were afraid of hurting Master’s heart. She told everyone to stop naming that demon and to not let Master and Mistress hear it.”
“Yes, eldest senior brother.” The two answered in unison.
In the past few years, Shen Yi had handed over many things to him to accomplish. As he grew older, Su Guangren’s juniors all listened to him, and as they did things, Shen Yi was very satisfied with them. His martial arts training achievements included the entire Wushan Sect, including Zhu Lin Zhi and Hu Shaoyang, who came to consult him. Everyone trusted this senior. However, Su Guangren no longer had his usual bright smile on his face. The two of them carried Su Guangren to his room and put him on the bed to rest. When Su Guangren fell, he was clearly gritting his teeth because of Liu Feng’s foot injury today. After a while, he heard someone push open the door and enter. Su Guangren slowly sat up and put the pillow under his back.
“Mistress.” Su Guangren straightened his body.
“Lie down and don’t move.” Madam Shen brought the medicine over to the bed. “You feel better now, right?”
“Hm, it’s not too much of a hindrance.”
“Come, drink this medicine.”
Su Guangren took the slightly cold medicine from his wife and drank it all in one gulp.
“Slow down.” Madam Shen’s heart ached as she looked at Su Guangren. She treated these disciples like her own children and doted on them very much, especially Su Guangren, who was brought up by her own hands as if they were her own.
Su Guangren handed the bowl over to Lady Shen and said, “Mistress, you should also be tired and rest early.”
“En, rest well. I will send the young soldier’s medicine over.” Just as Madam Shen turned to leave, Shen Bi Ru hurriedly entered the room. “Mother, is eldest senior brother injured?”
“Your dad has already shown your eldest senior brother and there’s nothing wrong with him. Let your eldest senior brother rest for a while, I’ll send some medicine to your third senior brother.” With that, Madam Shen carried the medicine bowl out.
Shen Bi Ru leaned on Su Guangren’s bedside and asked, “Big Senior, does your chest still hurt?” Su Guangren slowly laid down.
“This little injury is nothing. Your eldest senior brother is a man made of steel.” As he spoke, he patted his chest, and then accidentally patted the injured area and began to cough.
“I told you to show off, but you’re still in the mood to joke around at a time like this.” Su Guangren couldn’t help but to look at her with a thoughtful expression. His fair white face was plastered with mischief and worry, and his eyes were clear and focused. He liked the way she smiled, liked how she was being naughty, liked how she cried and wanted him to accompany her to practice the sword, liked how she lost to him while she was practicing the sword and insisted on saying that she had won. Suddenly, the slight smile on his face turned a little dejected. Shen Bi Ru could also tell why he was at a loss. In fact, it wasn’t as though she was at a loss as well.
“Eldest senior brother, you should rest. I’ll go see my father.”
“Right.”
Shen Bi Ru turned around and walked to the door. She then turned her head back and said in a spoiled manner, “Hurry up and get better. Come with me to practice the sword. Otherwise, I won’t be practicing anymore.”
“Okay.” Su Guangren didn’t move as he watched his junior sister leave.
Shen Bi Ru pushed the door and entered Shen Yi’s study. Shen Yi was standing there, lost in thought as he looked at the picture of a crouching tiger hanging on the wall. Shen Bi Ru looked at his back from behind. He looked so haggard with that frail back, and suddenly felt a pang in her heart. He had always been the support of her spirit, and his back was always so broad, but now it was so thin and weak. The wind blew at his hair. She softly called out for her father, causing Shen Yi to turn his head to answer.
“Father.” Shen Bi Ru called out to her father again.
Her father didn’t have his usual smile anymore. What happened today was indeed very sudden, and she understood her father’s feelings at that moment.
“Father, what you said in the hall today wasn’t true, right?”
