Devil’s Word Magic In Fairy Tail - Chapter 52
“So, can I have the payment now? One million jewels in all!” I asked with an extended hand, waiting for the mayor’s reaction.
“O-Of course! Give me just a second sir mage…” He replied, “Hey! Someone go bring the money we gathered for the extermination!” The mayor yelled.
A decent while after that an ȧduŀt man walked up to us while holding a bag of money, when he handed it to me I quickly counted it before smiling with satisfaction.
“That should do it, thank you for your business and make sure to call Fairy tail for help again if anything happens!” I said with a smile as a waved with my one free hand.
“Yes, we will be sure to do so.” Once the mayor said this, I simply nodded and teleported back to the guildhall…
…
(3rd person POV)
A few minutes before Arthur returned to the guildhall.
…
A gateway portal appeared in front of the Fairy tail building and four figures walk out from it. These figures were Erza Scarlet and the Strauss siblings.
“Whoa…!” The three resounded with amazement in unison.
“It’s a good guildhall, wouldn’t you say?” Erza said with a smile as she crossed her arms.
“Yeah, looks intimidating…” Elfman commented.
“I guess upon first seeing it, it would. But anyway, let’s head on inside.” Erza said, sparing no look to the siblings as she marched forward.
“Ah, wait up…!” Mira said as she walked up to Erza, Lisanna and Elfman in toll.
“Hm?” Erza turned to face Mira as they walked up to the entrance.
“T-They won’t… The guild members I mean… Um…” Mira stuttered as she spoke in nervousness.
Erza simply smiled to herself, reminiscing of her own first visit.
A kid dressed in rags and missing an eye isn’t exactly what’d you expect people to socialize with after all.
“Of course not, and even if they do I’ll teach them some better manners for you!” Erza said with a soft smile, unbeknown to her quite a few guild members felt a shudder at the drop of those words.
The three siblings took a deep breath and watched as Erza opened the guild hall doors.
The inside was filled to the brim with people, either conversing or dining. Some were browsing the job request board while others were fighting amongst themselves.
“Oi! You lil bastard think you can speak liek that to meh?!” A male guild member yelled.
“Course I can, ya ain’t shit!” Another yelled back as the two began exchanging blows.
“Hey, hey, hey! Stop it there you two!” Macao walked up and tried to get in between them but was instead punched square in the face by both of them.
“Get out of our business Macao!!” They yelled in unison as Macao stumbled backwards with a bloody nose.
“So that’s how you wanna play it ey? Then I’ll get rough too!” Macao yelled and delivered a right hook to one of them, before promptly being punched by the other.
That one fight lead to another, which quickly lead to the next and so on and forth.
The Strauss siblings could only look on in bewilderment as what seemed to be lunatics yelled out in arguments that made no sense to them.
Who cares if someone ate the last piece of pie?
Who cares which restaurant in town is better?
Who cares if someone bumped into you?
Who cares if someone looked at you funny?
Who cares if you let out a random fart, albeit smelly it’s no reason to start a more than fifty man brawl!
Although…
That scene of chaos would only last for so long…
“Hey! I’m back with some new members! Quiet down, NOW!” Erza nearly roared, her voice echoing across the entire hall as everyone stopped and looked towards the entrance.
The glaring sight of the young red headed girl sent another instance of shivers down the spines of men and women alike.
“Ah… yeah, sorry buddy. We’re good” A man patted the back of his friend whom he had been beating the shit out of until a moment ago.
“Yeah, we’re pals don’t worry…” The other said as they shook hands.
That scene repeated similarly within the premise, soon after resulting in the return of everyone to their seats.
“Good.” Erza nodded to herself and walked forward, knowing her new companions would follow.
Murmurs sounded from within the guild, well more so talking than murmuring.
“Another group of kids ey?” Wakaba spoke.
“Yup. Next generation is building up in number nicely, ey Reedus?” Macao asked the thin painter next to him.
“Oui, and they’re all little monsters.” Reedus commented, prompting a laugh from his fellow guild mates.
Mira tensed up at the word monster, which was noticed by Erza who glared at the party of innocent offenders.
“If you have the time to throw around comments like that, maybe you should spend it on doing something being a bit more productive than drinking booze at the guildhall for most of the last month.” Erza spoke in a condescending manner.
“Ah. Eh… Uhh…” They held no answer to that.
Well they did, but were too scared of speaking back to Erza.
…
A few moments after that, Erza and the Strauss siblings arrived in front of the old Makarov, who merely glanced at the three new faces in front of him.
“Yo, Erza. I see you’re back with a few new bloods!” Makarov said.
“Yes, they’ve got no place to go to, so me and Arthur both thought it’d be a good idea to have them join Fairy Tail. What do you think, Master?” Erza asked.
Mira, Lisanna and Elfman looked to the old man in anticipation, hoping they would be accepted.
“Mmm… Sure, why not.” Makarov replied with a wide grin after thinking about it for but a moment, then took a sip from his cup.
“Really?!” Mira spoke up in surprise.
“Yeah, I see no problem with you three joining. Just wait a sec, I’ll have someone bring me the guild mark stamps.” Makarov replied, after which he asked for the stamps to be delivered.
Mira simply looked on in disbelief, he didn’t question her or anything…
Was it really that easy to join a mage’s guild?
During the time which they all waited for the stamps to be brought, Natsu and Gray showed up while doing their usual routine.
They had basically been walking while bumping into each other’s foreheads.
They were also holding a sheet of paper, grasping it with one hand each.
“Oy, oy you fire cracker… What’s the big deal going ahead and taking MY job from me like that?” Gray spoke
“What do you mean YOUR job? I saw it first you stripper! I took it first! It’s mine!” Natsu objected.
“No, no, no! I’ve been eyeing that job since yesterday! I even told people it would be for me to do today! Do you have stones in your ears flame breath?” Gray retorted.
“Oh, here we go again…!” Cana spoke from a faraway table with a mischievous smile.
“Yup.” Ultear said, sitting on the other side as she and Cana looked at the two idiots walking.
“Yeahhh, This is something I never get tired of seeing.” Lyon commented, placing his hand on the table and supporting his head with it.
The three of them were sitting at a table and looking at Natsu and Gray bicker as they walked forward, not noticing what or who was in front.
It was then that they bumped into Erza, who had walked in the trajectory of their path.
“Well then, why don’t you two go on that job together like the good friends that you are?” She spoke with a kind smile, albeit the aura she let out was if anything but kind.
“Haah?! Go with him?!” Gray and Natsu both exclaimed at once.
“Yes, you’re going together? Is there a problem?” She replied, bending her back and moving in a bit closer towards them.
It didn’t take long for the threat to register in their brains, now knowing what they stood in front of, they simply gulped down and nodded in agreement.
“Good, now then let me have you meet a few new members shall we?” Erza moved back and gestured towards Mira, Elfman and Lisanna.
Both Natsu and Gray gazed at the trio, making them quiver slightly as they were still pretty shaken up from other people’s stares.
“They’re joining now?” Natsu asked, turning back to Erza.
“Yes, so try to be nice and socialize.” She replied.
“Oh, well okay then! Hey there! I’m Natsu Dragneel! Good to meet’cha three!” Natsu said with a wide smile, oozing out positivity.
“Sup, I’m Gray.” Gray instead gave a curt introduction, raising up a hand with an open palm to say hi.
“Um… Nice to meet you, I’m Mirajane.” Mira spoke awkwardly, as she wasn’t entirely comfortable with the situation.
“… Elfman…” Elfman introduced himself, seemingly hesitant or maybe shy of talking to others he did not know.
Behind him a white head popped out.
“H-Hello… I’m Lisanna…” Lisanna gave a meek greeting, before hiding behind her elder brother once more, only peeking from time to time.
“Mira, Elfman and Lisanna… Alright! I think I memorized them!” Natsu exclaimed, counting to three with his fingers.
“Like hell you did, I bet you won’t be able to repeat them within five minutes from now!” Gray scoffed.
“Haaa?! Are you trying to call me stupid you popsicle?!” Natsu yelled back.
This time Erza didn’t even say anything, she just slammed both her fists into the top of their heads, creating two decently sized bumps on said head’s tops.
“OOOUCH! WHAT THE HELL ERZA?!” They both yelled in unison, before Natsu continued.
“You want a piece of me?! This has been a long time coming!” Blinded by the pain and anger of being bonked on the head, Natsu jumped at Erza with fists raised up high.
“Haaaaa…” Erza sighed, “It seems like you haven’t learned your lesson Natsu!” She said, moving her arm with an upwards motion!
Her hand’s knuckles merely grazed Natsu’s chin yet it was more than enough to pull him from underneath his feet and into the air where he did a near perfect back flip before falling nearly unconscious on the floor, no doubt seeing stars with what was left of his consciousness.
“…” Gray simply looked back to his ol’ buddy Natsu, sweating bullets since he knew of Erza’s personality.
He knew he would also be hit.
“Wait, wait, wait Erza! I get it! I learned my lesson so leave me ou-” Gray protested, however all that ended up giving him was a punch to the gut.
“AGH! But… Why…?” He muttered before falling to the floor.
“No buts. There is fairness within equality.” Erza replied to the unconscious kid, dusting of her hands all the while.
“Pfffff… Hahahahahahaha!” The guild erupted in laughter.
“Hahaha! See, like I said it’s always interesting!” Lyon said as he laughed.
“Pfff!” Ultear did her best to suppressed the laugher.
“Hahahahaha!” And Cana simply laughed her heart out, no reservation in the slightest
Seeing the commotion that the guild mates were making over what had happened, Erza had been more than ready to scold them all as well, however she noticed the trio of siblings were also sharing a snicker with each other, obviously infected by the new atmosphere that they had found themselves in.
Having witnessed that they had been able to enjoy themselves even a little, Erza decided it would be best to remain silent here.
By the time the laughing stopped, space suddenly shifted within the premise of the hall.
At the center of the distortion, Arthur suddenly appeared basically instantly while holding a bag of coins in one hand.
…
(Arthur POV)
“Hey everyone! Guess who’s back!” I waved hello as people greeted me, welcoming me home.
“Hey Arthur! How’d things work out on your end?” Erza asked me.
“Good enough, I managed to get the reward money and the villagers seemed pleased.” I replied.
“Huh… Why’d you take the reward money? We didn’t even do the job…” Erza replied with an unamused look, as if saying ‘How could you do something so shameless!?’
Do you really think I’m that much of a scumbag?
“We didn’t, but Mira did.” I replied as I walked up to where the trio stood.
They looked at me a bit confused as I stopped in front of Mira, handing her the bag of jewels.
“Huh? Me? But I didn’t even go on that job…?” Mira said with uncertainty.
“Either way you’re the one who defeated the demon, so the money is rightfully yours.” I replied, grabbing her left hand and putting the bag of money in it.
“A-Are you sure we can have this?” Lisanna asked, “It’s a lot of money isn’t it…?”
“One million jewels, spend it well you three!” I said with a grin.
“One Milli-!” They all exclaimed, gulping down as they looked at the bag.
“Hahaha!” I laughed at the reaction.
Moments after they calmed down, one of the guild members walked up to Gramps and handed him a box filled with stamps.
“Alright you three, come here and tell me where you want your guild marks to be, also the color.” He said, and the siblings went up to him.
“Um… Is this really okay?” Mira asked, uncertain about the situation. “I’ve been cursed you see… If I can’t remain, then could you at least keep my siblings safe?” She continued, revealing her demonic arm to the guild master.
“Wha- Nee-chan! If you’re not staying then we won’t either!” Elfman shouted, unwilling to let her leave alone without them.
“Yes! Elf-nii is right you can’t leave without us!” Lisanna also shouted, her shy exterior fading from the unwillingness to part ways with her dear sister.
Both younger siblings looked at their elder with teary eyes, almost as if pleading to remain together with her.
“… You guys…” Mira’s voice quivered.
Makarov mused, looking at Mira’s right arm which she had now exposed.
“That’s not a curse, I’d imagine Arthur and Erza would have informed you already but it’s merely a form of magic. As for your request, of course your siblings can stay! And so can you of course.” Gramps said.
“Hey, Mira!” I spoke up before she could react to gramps’ reply.
She turned to me and waited for my continuation.
“If you’re really that worried about your Take Over magic then I’ll just teach you myself, you’ll be back to normal in no time! Honestly just give me a week or less!” I said with a grin, doing my best to at least try and reassure her that it’s all fine.
“… Yes… Thank you all… Thank you so much…” Mira replied, lowering her head as her eyes began leaking tears despite her unwillingness.
Elfman and Lisanna noticed this and promptly embraced Mira, shedding tears of joy together with their elder sister.
The entire guildhall merely smiled at the familial exchange of the siblings, knowing that their own family had just gained a few new and dear members.
After that, the three new additions to Fairy Tail all received their guild marks, all white and presumably on the same spots as in the original series.
…
A few days passed…
Elfman and Lisanna were soon able to socialize with the other people close to their age like Cana, Ultear, Jet, Droy and Levi. Natsu and Gray soon joined in on the group fun after finishing their job that took a bit longer than expected.
More than likely they ended up fighting along the way.
Mira kept her distance, simply watching her siblings as they progressively started to enjoy themselves around Fairy tail’s company.
Erza decided she’d keep Mira some company at the guild hall despite Mira’s apparent unwillingness to make friends with her it didn’t take long for them to start having conversations.
At times I would go up to the two of them and try to explain to Mira how to control her power, it wasn’t that hard seeing as I also have a demon based ability and Erza also gave some pointers for general magic control!
What Mira was mostly surprised about was the seemingly nonexistent fear or disgust of her appearance, even if it were simple magic the reality was that her arm had become more than just a little grotesque to look at…
Because of that fact, she kept hiding it as best as she could in the following days.
Yet even then, no one ignored her and many went out of their way to greet her which even if she didn’t admit to… She definitely appreciated.
…
More time passed and I kept giving her pointers and showing her how to control her form.
On the second day of me teaching her, I had her use some of the magical based attacks that her Satan Soul provided which held a decent amount of potency, more than enough to decimate a few trees at a time even! On the fourth day she started making some real progress with controlling the power, removing many of the gems imbedded in her arm and only remaining with a dark claw for an arm.
I asked a few of the guild members who were well versed in transformation to help out too, which sped up the process by a decent amount!
Finally, about six days after she started training, Mira had regained her complete human form.
…
“Oh my… Oh my god…” Mira’s voice quivered as she looked at her now human hand, touching it with the other as if to ascertain that it’s actually real.
Her tears flowed like a stream of water as she fell to her knees on the grass floor of the forest.
“Seems like you’ve mastered the reverting technique Mira, congratulations!” Erza said with a warm smile.
“Yup, congratulations Mira! Now you can proudly say that this is your power, one you can use to protect others.” I also said as I grinned.
Having been the one to teach her, I knew how hard she tried to make Satan Soul her own ability, seeing her succeed now fills me up with joy!
Is this the pride of a teacher?
“Yes… Thank you both so much… For teaching me and guiding me in the past days… And also for taking what remain of my family to Fairy Tail, I really do think Lisanna and Elfman have been able to integrate well with the others and seem happy to be here. Really! Thank you…!” Mira spoke in gratitude.
All three of us were happy at that moment.
…
After Mira reverted her arm back to normal and April arrived, she became a lot more social and open with people at the guild! She would joke and laugh with our group from time to time, other times she would make conversation with other random guild members be their of the younger or older generation.
Elfman and Lisanna on the other hand started to get along with everyone, having fun every day and even beginning their magic training!
They both wanted a magic similar to their sister’s so Gramps suggested learning a different type of take-over, namely Beast Soul and Animal Soul.
In other news, it seemed as though Lisanna has taken quite the interest in Natsu in particular…
I wonder if that will end up becoming a thing in this timeline?
I guess only time will tell…
For now, I need to take my magic control to the next level! Maybe even perfect it…
But how…?
Hmmm, I actually do have a pretty good idea now that I think about it…
Yup, that should do!
Time to max out my magic control!
