‘Huh. Seems like eating a Beast Dan or Jumping Manipulation states gives a huge boost to the body.
‘I’ve just eaten Adept beast Mana but I don’t have a nearly as big jump in strength as when I ate that Beast’s Dan.
‘Moreover, my body doesn’t seem to have any Adept Beast mana, it seems like my body has to reach a higher level step by step to actually be able to bond with Adept Beast Mana, like peak hunter stage.
‘I wonder whether becoming a Slayer made a difference in my body’s composition change, could it be the reason for my massive power jump? Or was it just eating a Dan, or Maybe both?’
Questions assaulted Nero’s mind like bullets, yet no answer or hypothesis could explain this intriguing concept of Mana and its laws.
He came to a conclusion.
‘I need more information.’
And he now had the best opportunity, The Nobles.
‘Alert: The system has detected the formation of pathogens of sorts, immunity towards Beast essence has started forming.’ Nova alarmed.
‘What? Then run simulations to neutralise the pathogens.’
‘Acknowledged, please give the system time to perform complete analysis on the pathogen formation. User will be notified when a plausible solution is found.’
‘Alright, let’s start moving again.’ Nero smoked the dissipating flames with his boots.
Like the first time, he used all his strength to propel himself in the air, higher and higher with temporary mana plates forming underneath his feet as pushed off, then forming wings and flying up to the dark clouds, then freefalling downwards and directing himself Northwards.
Unlike the average man, Nero had little need for sleep.
He could easily stay up for 2 days without sleep, his body and mind needed half the amount of rest than the average. He travelled throughout the night without rest, having to gain altitude and freefalling to gain the slowly lost momentum at regular intervals.
.
.
A few hours later, dawn had begun.
the journey was quite a sightful one, Nero had passed a whole load of different regions ranging from borderline deserts to a massive mutated biome, containing giant 200m tall trees on a hill.
There were very few hindrances during the journey like having to gain altitude to dodge the giant trees or having to swoop down low to avoid flocks of abnormally large birds, but it was a journey much faster and smoother than a Caravan journey could be, that is, if one excluded being sneak attacked by a Rank 3 Victorian Vulture.
The Kingdom of Haron was built upon a large, slightly sloped, patch of grassy plains. Its surrounding was quite exotic, containing a small, extremely hilly region to the west and an Upscaled version of Acroyl Forest covering around northern and eastern entrances.
Nero had landed around a mile away from the southern entrance, in a small field of Ocasia trees that contained a substance like rubber but with more resilience.
After a while of swift walking, Nero came up to a large Entrance with 20m wetted walls, keeping Beasts away from the civilisation within.
His highest valuables were hidden in his belt and his Scythe was wrapped up and hung around his shoulder.
Quietly like the others, he stood in the queue for travellers, there was another much shorter line for the citizens but seeing as he didn’t have identity token, he could only wait longer to enter.
His face was completely hidden away, there was only his height and voice to discern his age.
Fortunately, fixing either one also fixed the other. Nova’s excellent voice manipulation made his voice sound way beyond his age.
No one questioned the little figure as it paid for the entrance fee and walked along, minding his own business.
‘Finally. Now, we need to find a place to live in the Capital. An inn or hotel is the most optimal choice.’ Nero planned ahead.
He walked right past a group of teenagers ganging up on a young woman and hobos using sympathy to secretly buy some more alcohol.
No one came up to Nero however, there was an invisible force around his body that repelled people, especially those with intent towards his direction.
An odd blind man was sitting on his porch alongside a rundown house that had a third sense making him turn to Nero’s direction.
Nova immediately noticed the little change and realised that Nero’s aura was still in full effect and immediately closed up pores that let mana into the air naturally.
Right as he did so, the man’s face turned to one of concealed confusion. Nero knew that man wasn’t ordinary, it was best to avoid any potential conflict and lay down-low.
Without a single change, Nero simply continued walking while staying completely alert and conscious of his surroundings. The Capital’s border was 10 miles from the Southern entrance, Nero chose to take faster transportation for saving both time and avoiding the suspicion that came from walking 10 miles straight in a body as small as his.
He pulled his hand out on the side, where a small-sized carriage came to a halt.
Getting on, Nero asked the man to go to the Capital and gave up a gold coin for the longer more scenic ride.
Nero wanted to to get a grasp of the situation in this part of the massive Kingdom, he could easily extrapolate information about other parts of the Kingdom so knowing more about the place like the normal layout of build and etc, it could help in a dangerous situation in the future.
After an hour of sightseeing, Nero arrived at his destination.
The Capital.
