Devoured Eccentric - 32 New Kingdom II
The man contorted his face to hide the look of surprise, hearing such a young voice speak with such confidence instantly alerted him that the boy before him was someone important, someone with power.
Nero didn’t disguise himself in front of this man, he wanted peace and comfort while walking out whenever he wanted and having to always disguise himself was a pain in the ass.
“Ah yes, we do have 2 Royal suites available. How long would you like to book for?” The man said with the sweetest voice he could muster.
“2 Weeks and possibly extended I’d say, how much?” Nero put on an unwavering smile on his face.
He was trying to display as much power as he could while being as polite as he could, mostly because being shy would probably result in getting ripped off.
Simply acting powerful made sure the other party would be pressured, preventing getting ripped off unless the other party was daring enough.
Clearly it was not the case here.
The man did have some ideas to exploit a child like Nero but instantly replaced that thought, he knew how powerful aristocrats were and were he to accidentally offend one, there would be no future left for him.
It was simply a losing gamble.
“That would be… 5 Golden Lions and 3 Lions, including all facilities and unlimited food.” the man gazed at Nero to see his reaction but the boy smoothly pulled out a glazing golden coin with a tiny sapphire embedded through the middle.
It was a Golden Ruby Coin.
“Here.” Nero grinned and flipped the coin into the man’s grasp. The man fumbled around to catch, evidently shocked by the coin.
He was so nonchalant about it that the Receptionist knew he made the right choice not to piss off someone of his character.
“Also, keep the 7 Lions. Just make sure to wipe off my records, I’m trying to stay low key.” Nero took the 4 Golden Lion change and the card to his suite, leaving the appalled man hanging.
The Inn looked ancient but the technology inside was ahead of anything Nero had seen in Pinnacle.
There was an elevator here.
Nero went right up to 7th floor, the buttons inside worked on the basis of the card placed in the section, it lit up up the button on which floor the room was.
Nero’s was on the top floor, where he saw large glass dome above him and posh interior with beautiful paintings hanging on walls.
On the left, he saw a plated sign next to a door saying: ‘ Roma De Royale’ while on the right a plated sign said ‘Graca De Royale’. The lobby extended behind the elevator entrance where he finally saw the name of his room: ‘Caracas De Royale’.
This was like the ancestral language that the Norm’s language was built from, like Latin to English on Earth.
Entering the room, Nero saw the chandeliers high above glistening the light coming from the glass roof and a house like interior, and the one thing Nero was glad for…
A toilet.
“Yess! The one thing we gambled for is here!” this was one of the reasons why Nero was willing to pay such overwhelming amount instead of taking cheaper more affordable room.
‘Forget about that for now, we need to rest. Flying for so long and that fight with the Terror has really beat us up, I’ll have to fix up our body for at least half a day to get back to peak condition. So, sleep… Your mind is also fatigued quite a bit and it’ll take care of that.’
Nova knew exactly what to do to help Nero and how to do it, she was like his adviser, a one of a kind.
He was instantly knocked out cold when his head hit the bed, the stress and fatigue finally overwhelming his mind.
In the background, incense sticks burnt soundlessly, adding a calming aura around the sleeping little boy.
Slowly, the expression on the boy’s became serene, and so, he slept on without a care in the world.

“Thank you for hosting us here, we do appreciate places where talent emerges. This place certainly is one such place.”
This was the Captain of the Nobles, a man with the natural air of destruction around him, a being with great power within.
“OH no, it is us that are grateful for your presence. We are very thankful for taking in disciples from us to hone them to their peak.”
The older gentleman bowed, evidently showing respect and reverance to the man before him.
“Then, we shall be on our way, Grace be with all.”
“Grace be with all.” the men unanimously spoke.
The captain boarded the Gas Giant and waved his goodbyes.
Turning back, his face turned expressionless once more.
‘Hmm, sadly none of the recruits have a good chance to reach the Demon realm. If it was before, I would have been impressed with finding 3 colts with Slayer level potential and a junior with a low chance to reach Demon Realm but since last year…
‘That girl, her potential was definitely enough to make her a Demon. Nevermind that, she has the chances to become an Overlord! There are only three Overlords in all of Mainland, why wouldn’t she be nurtured personally?
‘Since finding her, anything less than a Demon potential seems… Too low. Damn, I am really getting tired of this job.
‘If I don’t find a demon level potential this time round, then I’ll just become a personal guard for one of the Nobles.’

In reality, the captain and his men were no more than civil workers of the Nordons, no way would they be here if they were actually Nobles.
Even the title of Baron placed one above the Captain. It didn’t matter whether one had strength, all on the title.
Of course, gaining a title was hard for someone without ties to Counts and Countess.
Those who gained the title of Baron had to have contributed greatly to the Nation, in terms of wealth or contributing to advancements in useful and lucrative fields.
These titles had more hidden power than one could imagine, not even the 100 year old Captain knew many of them. What he did know was that newly stated Barons had the power to obtain their own private personnel from the Magus Army and gain knowledge of high level techniques.
Even if a Baron wasn’t a Mage, they could still pull in powerful entities and deal with the techniques, in turn for completing a task or working for them.

“How long until we reach, let’s see… Haron Kingdom?” The Skilled Slayer asked someone on deck.
“Sir, approximately 2 days Sir!” a relatively chubby man answered.
“Hopefully we’ll find someone talented. Men! Do your best, if we find someone with Demon level Potential, then drinks on me!” the captain shouted at the top of his lungs, causing an uproar.
“Ahaha, Captain is the best! We shall definitely find someone with talent for you!” an older man shouted from the under deck.
“forget about Demons, We’ll find someone even better for you Cap’n! And if we do, what’s up for grabs?” one of operators shouted.
“Then, then I’ll get us a Blip Star!”
“Hehe, old man, we know you’re saying this because you don’t think we’ll find anyone like that girlie last year.” the second operator spoke informally, clearly there was a deep connection between him and his boss.
“Hmph! You want to know something? If we find another Overlord talent, I will have enough merits to become a Baron!” even though the Captain was a fogey, boasting was in his nature.
“OH? Then the captain will have to throw a celebratory party with the new Blip Star!”
“Yeah!”
“What a magnanimous person Captain is!”
The morale had suddenly been uplifted all because of booze.
Men will be men.
