Devoured Eccentric - 46 Analysis
A few hours after Nero finished bullshitting to the Captain, the Gas Giant initiated take-off.
Nero directly went back to his cabin to contemplate and analyse everything once more.
‘Woohoo! We successfully achieved temporary safety, took a step towards gaining more information, dodged a fucking rocket that was the Queen without much hassle and unnecessary drama and the most important of all, changed our mindset to be better suitable in helping us reach our end goal.
‘Speaking of which, I think we should tear the main quest down into sub-quests seeing as the main quest ending is quite far. The next sub-quest is to become a Demon! Unlike before when we were just Hunters and only needed to temper ourselves and practice a shit ton, advancing in the Slayer realm needs that and much more that we do not know of.
‘When we became a Hunter, it took less than a month to advance only because we were not used to mana manipulation at all. Becoming Novice Hunter only took 3 weeks. After that, the effort to advance grew at an exponential rate, after all, these 5 middle stages in mana manipulation are only milestones of the level of mana one could control, not a complete qualitative step up like between Basic mana and Adept mana.
‘Ever since we became a Slayer, there has been absolutely no growth. None! Practice and usage of Adept mana don’t have the same effect as before, it feels like I’m missing a core fundamental point or concept that will let me smoothly continue once more on my journey.’
After looking through everything he knew about mana, Nero came to a conclusion.
‘The Mainland is my key to unlock the chest that blocks me from continuing forward.’
‘What the hell kind of analogy is that?’ Nova, who had been silent entirely throughout Nero’s state of contemplation suddenly spoke up.
‘How would I know? All of this just comes to me somehow, only you would know what kind of memory these analogies originate from!’ Nero rebuked with a reasonable argument.
The complexities of various vague concepts like space and time weren’t fully understood by the current Nero. There were two main reasons behind this, the greatest of them all being the lack of their use and even the deficit brought from unloading this information onto his brain!
He didn’t have enough useful accumulation of this world, most of his usual conceptual knowledge gained from Earth had become useless. The deficit brought from ‘knowing’ about something like time was that it would become another looming factor in the back of his mind that was basically useless in his current situation. It was an unnecessary additive in his thought process.
His mind was yet to develop completely, the mental exhaustion from all the thinking he did and the mana he manipulated was only kept at bay due to the mind tempering method the King had given him and Nova’s suppression system.

‘Too much thinking will lead to mental exhaustion! My user, please just chill, for now, we’re out of harm’s way and our future has endless potential, not even I can extrapolate and predict the future!’
Nova berated Nero in a light tone to shift his focus off the matters he could not deal with currently. Nero deeply sighed before getting off his bed, he had yet to properly acquaint himself with others and so he walked out with a new purpose.
It had been an hour since lift-off, Nero was curious about the scenery below, so he went to the lounge where windows were present.
About 5 other people were there with him, two seemingly of his age and 3 colts. Nero walked up to the colts who were in a group admiring the gleaming ocean outside, there was more of a deep emerald tint to the water beneath rather than the usual deep blue. It reminded Nero of the time he became a Hunter, the colour soaked away from the plants was similar yet different to the ocean.
Two of the colts, girls, immediately introduced themselves after spotting Nero.
“You’re Nero, right? I’m Cayla from Kartador, Slayer level potential. What did the Captain say to you?” The Redhead spoke up first, making the young brunette on the side anxious to speak as well.
“Yeah, I’m Sylva from Nehoole and I’m Peak Hunter Potential. Did he tell you why we left so early? I heard that Haron was big so we should’ve stayed for at least 5 days or something.”
“Umm, the Captain asked me if I wanted to see my family and I said no because I wasn’t allowed. I’m an Illegitimate royal of Haron, after all.” Nero acted a bit haughty like the others to blend in better. “I like to hang out with older people, can I hang out with you guys?”
The boy on the side spoke up immediately, “In my Kingdom, illegitimates are executed! Even if you’re Demon level potential, I could still beat you down to your status! Do you know who I am? Kalibrius of Kalatar, the young highness with a percent of Demon level potential!”
‘That was to be expected, there was no way some kid with an overly-bloated ego would pick a fight with me. Jealousy is especially strong with this one!’
The main reason Kalibrius was picking a fight from the get-go was that his brother had been assassinated by an Illegitimate, just hearing somebody be a royal illegitimate triggered him to no end. There was the other reason as well, Nero’s interruption between his process of picking up the hot brunette.
The legal age to be an adult was 15 in this world due to the faster rate of maturity of the body, the 13-year-old blondie was not restricted to sleep with other girls of that age at all because he looked like a 16-year-old.
Kalibrius was 5’5 foot tall pale skinned kid with a relatively toned body, unlike Nero who was a few inches over 4 feet.
When comparing the two, it was odd how they had quite a similar width size. Nero had, from eating incessant amount of protein, massive tons of muscles. His previously chubby face was now sharp and well-chiselled jawline, the small problems like a slightly bent nose and long ears had been fixed over time by Nova, making him pretty much a young model with the darkest of eyes. His hair was a mess but it gave him a wild look to the girls.
Instead of verbally responding, Nero prepared to flick the air with his index and thumb. Right as he did, his eyes exuded a great show of red and a small red coin formed on the thumb.
With relatively high power, Nero flicked a mana coin right into the centre of Kalibrius’ dome.
A moment later, Kalibrius was falling back while clutching his forehead in pain while leaving the girls on the side absolutely shocked beyond belief.
