Diary Of A Bitch - Volume 1 Chapter 47 Grandfather Or Grandmother?
The journey took less than an hour, we kept catching up on each other and I felt like me for the first time in weeks.
“Bro, you know I’m to blame for the situation I’m in right?”. Even if Kelvin used, r.a.p.ed and tried to kill me, I still played a vital role in the whole situation.
” My virtual Vee, should I tell you what my opinion is on this matter?”. He said cautiously and maneuvered the car into an estate.
“Sure Bro, I really want to know”
“Even if you hate to admit it, you love Kelvin, others might say you fell cheaply for his charms and very quickly too but I know that when it comes to the matter of the heart, we almost do not have a choice. So you did what you thought was right, and he took advantage of your feelings. Even if you made a few mistake, you’re not to blame for what happened. Did you think mum wouldn’t think of plan B supposing you didn’t fall for Kelvin?, the woman is a scheming b***h, I was just too late in realising that a leopard can never be tamed into a cat”. There was a hint of sadness in his voice as he swerved into a compound very much alike to Coker’s villa.
I was puzzled, startled and scared at the same time, could it be that Michael was a part of them too?
” Relax Vee, I’ll never betray you for anything in the world. Apparently your granddad built both places”. I visibly relaxed and smiled guiltily at Michael, what was I thinking?
We got out of the car and started towards the entrance, the security greeted us respectfully and opened the door to let us in. We met an old man sitting leisurely in the living room, he looked like an older version of me. At the wall behind him was a life size portrait of…..my mother, she looked so pretty with golden eyes and long hair, she stared right at me like she was in the room. The picture captivated me to the spot and made me forget everyone in the room. A great sense of nostalgia washed over me as I recalled that I’ve seen her before, she’s the woman in my dream.
“Now you know where you got your looks from my Vee Vee, come on, come to granny” The old man’s words snapped me out of my daze, I made my way to him and curtsied respectfully in greetings but he grabbed me in a hug instead.
“Oh Vee, you look so much like your mother,it’s so great to see you again”. He was right, looking at that picture is like peering into a mirror, but this man is embarrassing me, what is the right thing to say at this moment.
” So good to meet you too grandpa but you’re squashing me “. I was almost out of breath.
” Oh, don’t mind me, I’m just too happy to see Leah’s daughter, how’s my great grand daughter doing?, hope she’s not giving too much troubles?……you need to take care of yourself you know?……have you gone for your antenatal?……..”. He kept plaguing me with questions that I felt I was meeting a grandmother instead of a grandad.
I looked over to Michael that was smiling with glee and gave him a look of ‘would you like helping me?’, the idiot was actually enjoying this.
“I suddenly developed bad manners, please have your seat, I’ll have the servants prepare something for you to eat, you look so lean”.
” Oh no granny, I actually just had lunch not long ago”. I said politely.
“Oh, that’s right. Michael, I owe you the rest of my lifetime for giving me the honour of seeing both my granddaughter and great grandchild before I breathe my last”. He was teary again, I started to wonder whether this person has a d.i.c.k or a p.u.s.s.y.
” It’s nothing granny, you’re my grandfather too you know?”. Michael said lovingly and went over to cuddle the crybaby granddad, just how long have they known each other to be this close?
“Erm….. if you don’t mind, can I stay here for the main time?”. I quizzed when I got bored of the two guys’ lovey dovey.
” Sure love, that would give us enough time to bond, you’ll stay in your mom’s room OK?”
“OK granny, I’ll locate mum’s room and freshen up before resting”. I stood up announcing my exit.
” Oh, just go through this entrance, someone should be waiting there to show you to your room”. He beamed and continued to discuss in low tunes with Michael, hence making me a little bit jealous. All in all I was happy, I had a new place to stay without even doing much.
Finally, luck has deemed me fit to smile upon me.
