Diary Of A Bitch - Volume 1 Chapter 69 Encounter
“And we meet again Vee Vee.” That familiar voice snapped me out of my disturbing thoughts.
The encounter I’ve been dreading for years is about to happen, God help me.
I turned around slowly to meet his gaze, he was smiling like the idiot he is.
“It’s Mrs. Brown to you, bastard.” I sneered and he laughed in a way that made me even more nervous.
“So because you’re married to a certain loser, I should address you as Mrs. Brown?, how pathetic.” My anger flared at that, calling Ry a loser is way out of line.
“I am warning you Kelvin, you lost the right to interfere in my life the moment you fired a shot my way, and for your information, that loser saved my life and gave me hope while you were being a prick and desperately covering up your crimes so don’t you dare say a word about him.” I warned with my finger wagging at him and he chuckled confidently.
” Of course Mrs. Brown.” He said with sarcasm evident in his voice.
“That’s not why I am here though, you can ride any d.i.c.k you want to, that’s your ill luck and not mine.” He adds and I felt like strangling him.
“So why are you here Kelvin?” I asked, trying as much as possible to control my anger. His next words knocked me out of my feet. Figuratively and almost literally.
“I want custody Vee.” His expression was grim enough to show his seriousness. I quickly collected myself and met his gaze.
“Custody of what?, land?, or my house?, or my business?, tell me. What do you want custody for?” I asked, feigning ignorance. There wasn’t much I could do, I knew he would figure it all out the moment he sees Dayo. One thing was sure though, I wasn’t going to allow him snatch my child away from me.
“Our child Vee, stop playing dumb. I’m in no mood for games.”
“What child Kelvin?, the child that would have died with me on that night four years ago?, Dayo is my child and she’s not going anywhere near you prick. If you want to fight for custody, you can as well go ahead, we’ll see who the judge gives custody to. An irresponsible parent that almost had the mother killed, or the parent that has showered the kid with nothing but love.” He smiled wryly at my pretty little speech.
“Who are you kidding Vee?, you think I’ll go through the long process of the law to take what’s rightfully mine?, you should already know by now that I have other means of getting all I want. The least you can do is to come with me, I can get rid of that pain of a wife and we’ll start a new life, as a family.” He said and I laughed. Laughed that it startled him.
“You’re joking Kelvin, I would die a hundred times than to let you touch me or Dayo.”
“We both know you belong with me Vee, don’t deny you still love me.” What?
“You are very high on imaginations Kelvin, keep dreaming. I’ll dutifully assure you that it’ll never come true.” I sneered and he chuckled as if dismissing my claims.
“We’ll see Vee, we’ll see.” I was about to warn him again when Ry walked in with his usual grace.
“Everything okay in here?” He asked warily.
“Of course Mr. Brown, I have a creepy feeling that your wife here is not happy with our partnership.” He said slyly and Ry looked over at me.
“Of course that’s not true, is it Vee?” Poor Ry, f.u.c.k.i.n.g poor Ry.
“Of course not Ry, I’m the happiest at this arrangement.” I said with sarcasm dripping from every. one of my words.
“See?, I told you already. My wife is a very supportive woman.” Ry beams with pleasure.
“I hope so too Mr. Brown.” He smiled and walked out of the kitchen with Ry hot on his tail. Oh. dear! what do I do?
Kelvin left not long after our encounter, after cleaning up after the guests, I marched upstairs to talk to Ry. It was a now or never situation. Thankfully, I found him in our room, undressing.
“Ry, I need to talk to you.” I began cautiously, Ry went out of his way to please Kelvin earlier, that means something was up. I. had to tread carefully on the path full of loop holes.
“I’m all ears, but be quick about it.” He said when I sat on the bed.
“It’s about your business partner, Kelvin.” He looked sharply at me before unbuckling his belt.
“Before you say anything I want to tell you something as well.” OK so it was going to be much more difficult than I thought. I swallowed hard before mumbling
“I’m listening..Ry.”
