Diary Of A Bitch - Volume 1 Chapter 77 The End
“Twas fun playing this whole game daughter, see you in hell.” She said as she pointed the gun at me, I closed my eyes for my last prayer for forgiveness or perhaps a miracle, and it was only then I knew for sure that God indeed answers prayers.
We were all startled with a loud bang, my eyes was closed but I opened them after I didn’t feel the familiar sting of a bullet. Everything seemed fine for a moment, then the bang came again and the old hag jumped in fear, the d.i.c.k assured her that everything was fine and he’d goan check on whoever it was.
I was suddenly very hopeful, after all my phone was on till I got here, there was a very slim possibility that I was being tracked by either my douche bag husband or my very busy brother and though I was really worried that they’ll involve the police and mess everything up, I was certain that there was a possibility that I’ll get out of the situation alive or at least they’ll be able to get Dayo away from that beast.
You could imagine the disappointment when Kelvin came back hale and hearty, saying it was a minor disturbance by the boys playing with fireworks. I sighed heavily and closed my eyes, I was stupid when I thought I would somehow escape this ordeal, I just hoped Dayo would have a good future and wouldn’t grow up to be anything like the monster that donated his s.p.e.r.m to her making.
The bang came again, this time much more louder that the hag almost flew out of her skin, who would have thought the devil’s incarnate would be scared of common sounds of fireworks. She grumbled and made for the door to caution the boys but even before she was halfway, the door was kicked open and even though I couldn’t make out who it was, I was sure that God answered my prayers.
The old hag rushed towards me and held the gun to my head the moment she realised that she couldn’t take down the numerous armed men in black with just the help of Kelvin. The moment Kelvin reached for his gun, he was immediately shot at. I squealed in happiness as he slumped to the ground but quickly remembered I wasn’t all safe yet as I still had a gun to my head.
“Stay back or I shoot!” the bitchy witch yelled as they tried to advance to get me. They immediately stopped and Susan smiled mischievously.
“Put all your weapons down or she’ll be dead,” she yelled again and all the men slowly reduced their arms to the ground.
“Good boys, now your hands in the air.” When they all complied, she hastily unlocked the cuffs that was binding me to the chair without lowering the gun for a milli second, then she dragged me up and yelled that if anyone dared move, she’d blow my head off. Then she whispered about how easy she was using me as leverage to get out when she was eventually going to kill me, I smiled as I recognized Michel in the crowd, so I whispered back that even my death would be worth being killed by her own son. Her expression turned grim immediately and I could tell she was going to pull the trigger until…
‘Thwack!’ someone from behind had hit her very hard on her head that I heard the cracking of her skull, she lost consciousness even before touching the ground. I turned to see that the person was….Becky, I couldn’t hide my astonishment.
“I know you don’t believe me but I regret helping Susan, I was threatened with my mother’s life,” Becky solemnly apologized, avoiding my eyes with shame, my eyes moistened as I held out my arms, she just saved my life even if I was cold towards her earlier, she never stopped being my friend and I was happy I had her back.
After many hugs and tears between us, I was shocked when I heard Ry’s voice, he had come after all.
“I’m sorry,” he croaked in a very unusual voice when I turned to meet his eyes, he dressed in an all black James Bond outfit, a sharp contrast to the usual business power suits. He looked disheveled and a stubble magically appeared on his chin, I don’t know why but he really looked appealing to me, you know what I mean.
“I’m sorry I doubted you, seeing you leave like that opened my eyes…. I’m so sorry I didn’t believe….” The rest of whatever he wanted to say was muffled by my lips, I loved him and a simple mistake on his part wasn’t going to change that. I was about to give him the good news about our baby when I suddenly felt a sharp pain at my nape, then I faintly heard a maniacal laughter followed by numerous gunshots, the only sound I heard distinctly was the of my baby calling me ‘Mummy’ and her tiny hands lightly tapping at my face, it was with that blissful feeling I slipped into eternal darkness.
