Did Not Say Anything About My Feelings - Chapter 10 Part 1. Vengeful Person
The night before the re-rating, many people in Class D and Class F stayed up all night in their classroom to rain. Even in Class A and Class B, many people only returned to their bedrooms in the middle of the night. People with lower gradings wanted to climb up, while those with higher grades wanted to find ways to keep their current positions.
Lin Ye was woken up in the early morning by lights and voices. Sleepily, he turned around and raised his arm to cover the dazzling light that was above his head. His roommate, who had switched on the light, stopped to glance at the upper bunk Lin Ye was sleeping in when he heard the sound Lin Ye made. His tone was not very apologetic as he said, “So you’re in the dormitory. I’m sorry, I didn’t see you just now.”
Lin Ye sounded lazy as he made a sound of acknowledgment. He pulled the quilt over his head and buried his whole face in the quilt.
The noises outside of the quilt did not decrease but instead became louder and louder with the interwoven fluctuation of human voices and other noises. Lin Ye lifted the quilt and sat up, he squinted at the clock on the wall. The hour hand and the minute hand were overlapping on the number four.
His roommates who had just finished practicing their dance started to queue up to shower.
The creaking sound of the wardrobe door opening, the creaking of the dragging chairs, the closing of the door when entering the bathroom, and the sounds of his remaining roommates sitting around the sofa and chatting was like the repetitive horrible noises from a low-quality CD.
It made his head hurt.
He climbed out of bed to drink some water and picked up the down jacket on the back of his chair to wear over his pajamas. He put on his sneakers and walked around his roommates and out of the room. The moment he opened the door, cold winter wind entered the collar of his shirt.
Lin Ye shivered and shrunk into himself for a moment. Then, he raised his gaze to take a look at the endless night outside the window at the end of the corridor. He did not know who had opened the window in the corridor.
He stamped his feet and the light that was controlled by sounds switched on. Lin Ye wrapped himself up in his clothes tightly and walked towards the end of the corridor. When he walked to the midway point, the sound-controlled light suddenly switched off. The corridor was dark again, and there were only a few slivers of warm light coming from the bottom of the dormitory doors on both sides.
Lin Ye walked forward in the dark but was slightly tripped by something lying in the middle of the corridor. The dormitory key that was loosely hooked on his little finger fell on the ground and very quickly rolled into the darkness.
Lin Ye stamped his feet again, the tip of his feet hooked onto the parcel in the middle of the hallway. He squatted down to look for his key in the dim light. After two minutes, he saw a key that was half under the door of the dormitory room next to him.
He placed a hand on the doorframe to keep his balance as he bent his waist and reached out his fingers to pick up the key in the gap between the door and the floor.
However, the door he was using to balance himself was pulled open from the inside.
Lin Ye’s body directly fell towards the door and the person standing behind the door with slippers on took a step back calmly. Lin ye sat on the shoe rug beside the door. Looking up, he saw Jiang Lian standing in the room and looking at him.
Lin Ye turned his gaze away. When he saw the dormitory number pasted on the wall, he felt speechless. After a long time, he reached out his hand to find the key that he was sitting on. He raised the key up to show Jiang Lian and said, “Don’t worry, I don’t have a strange habit of getting close to other people’s dormitory doors in the middle of the night to eavesdrop. I just wanted to pick up the key stuck under the door.”
Ming Rang, who had heard his voice and was lying on the sofa, recognized his voice and turned to shout towards where Lin Ye was standing, his tone was quite hospitable, “Didi, do you want to come in and play?”
(T/N: Just a reminder~ didi means little brother!)
Lin Ye subconsciously looked at the hostel room that was warm and bright. For a moment, he even started to suspect that the dark night outside the corridor and this hostel room were in completely different hemispheres.
He got up and opened his mouth to refuse when Jiang Lian turned around and walked in before he could say a word, “Come in and close the door.”
Lin Ye hesitated, swallowing the words that he was about to say, and climbed up from the shoe rug. Then, he turned around and closed the door, keeping the dark night in the corridor and the piercing coldness out.
Ming Rang was holding his phone in his hand and he patted the position between him and Jiang Lian, beckoning him over, “Come and sit down.”
