Did Not Say Anything About My Feelings - Chapter 13. Tie Clip
The time spent for the stage recording of the theme song was very long and tedious, and Lin Ye did not watch till the end.
There were even more important parts to film at night, and the location was in the spacious classroom with stairs. The employees requested for all the trainees to wear the suit uniform. Lin Ye returned to the hostel to shower. He found the uniform that had been issued by the program team and changed into it.
The uniform was the right size, but Lin Ye did not know how to tie a tie.
He stood by his bed and reached under his pillow, wanting to use his phone to find a tutorial on how to tie a tie. He had reached around for a moment before he remembered that he had already handed in his phone.
Lin Ye tried to recall the steps Jiang Lian had taken when he tied his tie next to the stage. However, besides Jiang Lian’s beautiful fingers, he could not remember anything else.
He pulled the tie off his neck, casually folding it and stuffing it into the pocket of his jacket. He avoided the rush hour and went to the canteen to eat his dinner.
The trainees that had participated in the filming of the theme song had probably just ended. He could see from afar that people in the canteen were interacting with each other, and the noises from the canteen fluctuated.
Lin Ye opened the curtain and walked over. When he looked around the windows of the canteen and the dining tables, he saw that everyone was wearing the suit uniform that was the same cut and color. It was a little hard to find Xia Dongchan among them.
He got a bowl of braised pork rice and carried his plate as he walked towards the corner with fewer people. The seats in the dining hall were four to six people sofas, and each table was separated by a low wall.
When he walked over, he did not notice, but after he walked around to the table he normally sat at, he suddenly saw the corner of a cyan-colored uniform, there was already someone sitting on the sofa.
Lin Ye stopped walking for a moment and carried his tray, before turning around to walk to the opposite table.
However, someone called his name from behind, his voice rising with uncertainty, “Lin Ye?”
Lin Ye turned his head around and saw Ming Rang resting his cheek in a hand, peeking out half his body to glance at where Lin Ye was standing. When he saw Lin Ye’s face clearly, he grinned and opened his mouth, “As expected, it’s you. I was thinking that the back of your head looked a little familiar. You’ve changed your clothes, and I can barely recognize you.”
Lin Ye raised his eyes and smiled, carrying his tray and taking a step forward. As expected, he saw Jiang Lian sitting on the sofa opposite Ming Rang, his head lowered, and an unbothered expression could be seen from the side of his face.
He was closer to Ming Rang and directly sat down in the empty seat next to Ming Rang, opening his mouth to ask, “Have you seen Xia Dongchan?”
Ming Rang asked lazily, “Who’s Xia Dongchan?”
Lin Ye looked speechless, “My roommate, he’s in Class A.”
Ming Rang tried his best to recall but could not remember who Xia Dongchan was. The corner of his mouth lifted but he did not respond.
On the other hand, Jiang Lian glanced at Lin Ye, who was sitting opposite him. He asked a question that had nothing to do with Xia Dongchan, “Where’s your tie?”
Lin Ye said, “In my pocket.”
Jiang Lian nodded his head and said mildly, “Why aren’t you wearing it?”
Lin Ye seemed a little confused, but he did not hide anything and responded, “I don’t know how to tie a tie.”
Jiang Lian lifted his eyes when he heard those words, and moved his gaze away from Lin Ye’s collar, which had one button unbuttoned.
Ming Rang’s gaze was a teasing one, “You don’t know how to tie a tie? You’re still a child that hasn’t grown up.”
Lin Ye did not refute his words and lowered his head to focus on eating.
Ming Rang suddenly felt bored, tossing the chopsticks in his hand aside as he stood up to ask the person sitting opposite, “I’ll go get soup. Do you want soup?”
Jiang Lian asked, “What soup?”
Ming Rang frowned and thought for a moment, unable to think of an answer.
Lin Ye, who was sitting next to Ming Rang, swallowed the rice in his mouth and said, “The soup today is corn and spareribs soup.”
Jiang Lian said, “I want it.”
Ming Rang stood up and walked towards the counter, his back quickly disappearing from their vision. Lin Ye turned away and picked up a piece of stewed pork with his chopsticks and placed it in his mouth.
However, from the corner of his eye, he saw Jiang Lian put down the chopsticks in his hand, fingertips gently clasping on the table as he told Lin Ye, “Stand up.”
Lin Ye raised his head, puzzled, “What’s the matter?”
Jiang Lian did not speak but stood up from his place across the table.
Lin Ye’s expression was one of confusion, but he slowly stood up as well.
He saw Jiang Lian lean over slightly, a hand extending over the table to reach into his suit pocket. He found a folded and slightly wrinkled tie and told him, “Come closer.”
Vaguely aware of the other’s intentions, Lin Ye could not help but clench the hands that had been placed against the table, his upper body leaned towards where Jiang Lian was standing.
Jiang Lian stretched out his fingers to press on Lin Ye’s shirt button, helping him button up his collar before he helped him tie his tie. In the middle, his fingers brushed past the skin under Lin Ye’s throat. Lin Ye lowered his head, his expression did not change, but his Adam’s apple was moving slightly.
After he helped to tie Lin Ye’s tie, the part that had been folded before did not fit very well. He seemed to be unsatisfied and frowned, Jiang Lian raised his hand and unbuttoned the button on his own suit jacket.
As Lin Ye watched, Jiang Lian removed the silver tie clip on his suit and bent down to clip it on Lin Ye’s tie.
After he finished clipping on the tie clip, Jiang Lian did not loosen the hand he was using to grab onto Lin Ye’s tie.
Lin Ye was still quite stunned, he seemed to only see Jiang Lian’s silver tie clip.
The force exerted by the hand that Jiang Lian was using to grab his tie increased, and he pulled Lin Ye towards him.
Lin Ye bent forward suddenly, his two hands hurrying to rest on the table to maintain his balance.
In the instant that their breaths intermingled, Jiang Lian looked at him, his tone casual, “Have you thought about it?”
The whole process was too short, and Lin Ye did not even have time to answer.
The footsteps from behind got closer. Jiang Lian let go of him and sat back on the sofa. Ming Rang carried two bowls of soup and walked over, looking at Lin Ye in surprise, “What are you standing there for?”
Lin Ye returned to his senses when he heard those words. He forced a smile and hurriedly sat down. The first thing he did was not look at Jiang Lian. Instead, he hid the unnatural expression on his face and buttoned up his suit jacket, hiding the silver pin on his tie.
