Did Not Say Anything About My Feelings - Chapter 16. Eating Tender Grass
****
Group A did not practice until very late at night that day.
The staff called Jiang Lian and Wen Mian to shoot advertisements, leaving Lin Ye and the other three behind in the classroom to do their own training.
Cheng Chi and Qi Huan had a good relationship, so the two of them would often stick together. However, Lin Ye and Yan Changfei did not have much of a friendship, barely even speaking to each other.
It just happened that Group B had someone who missed their practice because they were sick, so Ming Rang directly called Lin Ye from Group A over to help fill in for the missing person in their group formation. So Lin Ye just practiced the whole afternoon with Group B.
Lin Ye also ate dinner with the five people in Group B. When he came out of the canteen, the others were planning on returning to the classroom to practice. However, Ming Rang waved his hand and said, “You guys can go ahead, I’ll go back and take a bath.”
The remaining four people looked towards Lin Ye again, “What about you? Are you returning to your room or going to the classroom?”
Lin Ye thought about how Jiang Lian and Wen Mian were both not there and how Group A would probably not gather again to practice tonight. If he waited till later, the other five people in the hostel would return to shower, and he would have to queue to wait for the shower to be empty.
Lin Ye walked towards Ming Rang, “I’ll return to the dormitory to take a bath.”
The others nodded their heads in response and turned around to walk towards the training building.
Ming Rang turned around to place his hand around Lin Ye’s shoulder, bringing him in the opposite direction as he chatted with Lin Ye, “Didi, how old are you?”
T/N: Didi = Little brother~ (Gentle reminder cause I’m not sure when I last used it ;-;)
Lin Ye opened his mouth, wanting to say that he was nineteen, but he recalled the scene of Jiang Lian frowning as he asked Lin Ye about his age and calmly changed what he wanted to say, “Twenty.”
Ming Rang nodded and smiled as he asked, “Have you had a girlfriend before?”
Lin Ye said, “No.”
Ming Rang was not shocked. He simply patted Lin Ye’s shoulder and exclaimed, “You’re still a young child.”
Lin Ye’s lips curved slightly, “Aren’t you guys the same age as me?”
Ming Rang did not reply and looked at him with a mysterious look. After that, he slowly opened his mouth and asked, “Are you trying to find out my age, or are you trying to find out Jiang Lian’s age?”
Lin Ye calmly looked back at him, “I was just casually asking, I’m not trying to find out about anything.”
Ming Rang raised his eyebrow slightly and spit out a number, “Twenty-four.”
Lin Ye was surprised at first, then gradually understood. Not only did Ming Rang like to act like a big brother when he was talking to others, but even the way Jiang Lian spoke and did things made it obvious that he was not like the people Lin Ye’s age.
The sky was gradually turning darker. He tucked his neck into his down feather jacket and lowered his head as he walked forward. He did not hear Ming Rang mutter in a low voice, two steps behind, “Is Jiang Lian trying to be the old cow that eats the tender grass?”
Lin Ye returned to his dormitory but did not see any empty bathroom. His roommates probably had the same idea as him and had rushed back to the dormitory before him. By the time he came in, someone was already taking a shower in the bathroom.
He lay on the sofa and flipped through the manga Xia Dongchan had brought. From the corner of his eyes, he saw how after his first roommate finished showering, his second roommate carried his clothes and tower and entered the bathroom.
Lin Ye felt a little impatient. He frowned and sat up, placing the manga in his hand on the tea table before standing up and walking over to the door.
When he placed his left hand on the door handle and was about to pull it, but the doorbell started to ring. Lin Ye was slightly stunned, and he took a step back and opened the door. Ming Rang’s face appeared in his field of vision.
Ming Rang had a down jacket on as he leaned by the door, the tips of his hair still dripping, “Lend me your hairdryer for a while. I don’t know where Jiang Lian kept ours.”
Lin Ye thought about it, but he did not move. He almost blurted out that he knew where it was. He closed his mouth, then turned around to look for the hairdryer in the cupboard.
However, Ming Rang followed him, and casually glanced at him, “You haven’t showered yet?”
Lin Ye found the hair dryer and passed it to him, “My roommate is still showering.”
Ming Rang nodded thoughtfully, but did not take the hairdryer Lin Ye was offering him. “Do you want to come to our dormitory to shower?”
Lin Ye was a little tempted, but his gaze landed on the shower door of his hostel room that was tightly shut, “My shampoo and shower gel are all in there. I can’t go in and get it now.”
Ming Rang did not seem to be bothered, “You can use ours.”
He was originally not planning to stay in the hostel and continue wasting time, so Lin Ye stopped rejecting Ming Rang’s offer, turning around to walk towards his closet.
Two minutes later, Lin Ye carried his clothes and walked towards Ming Rang’s dorm room.
He placed his towel and his clothes on the clothes hanger in the bathroom. When he came out, he saw Ming Rang sitting on the chair and using the hairdryer, the sofa covered in clothes that the other had taken off.
Lin Ye paused while taking off his down jacket.
Ming Rang threw down the hairdryer and stood up to drag Jiang Lian’s chair out. He lazily opened his mouth, “After you take off your clothes, hang them on his chair, he won’t come back that soon anyway.”
Lin Ye hung his down jacket on Jiang Lian’s chair, “The shampoo and the shower gel in the bathroom, which are yours?”
Ming Rang squinted and thought for a moment before he opened his mouth and said, “The left ones are mine, the right ones are Jiang Lian’s.”
Lin Ye wore his slippers and walked towards the bathroom. On the way there, he turned his head back and said, “I’ll use yours.”
When Ming Rang heard his words, all he did was raise his hairdryer and curve his lips to smile. He did not say a word.
He did not shower for very long, but the time he spent showering was not considered short either. Lin Ye needed to wash his hair, so he took longer to shower.
He used the shampoo and shower gel Ming Rang had placed on the left side. When he finished washing his hair and used the showerhead to wash away the soap, Lin Ye suddenly realized that the sounds of Ming Rang using the hairdryer had stopped.
He used hot water to wash his hair and his body before he switched off the water, grabbing his tower and standing under the warm yellow light to dry his hair.
However, he heard the sounds of the door opening and closing outside the bathroom. Ming Rang seemed to have left the room.
Lin Ye grabbed his other tower and slowly wiped his body dry. After that, he started to put on his clothes.
Outside the bathroom, he heard the clear sounds of footsteps from someone walking over, and dark shadows were cast on the frosted glass door that was covered in condensation from the shower.
It turns out that Ming Rang did not go out. Instead, he had just returned from somewhere else. Lin Ye put on his sweater and bent down to raised one of his legs to put on his trousers.
The person outside was holding something in one hand, and raising his other hand to knock on the door. There was a faint impatient feeling from the knocking sounds.
Lin Ye tied up the drawstring on his pants, raising his gaze to glance at the fuzzy but smooth-flowing lines of the side of the other person’s face on the glass door. He turned around and grabbed the clothes that he had changed out of and wanted to wash before he walked towards the door.
The person outside of the door finally opened his mouth, his voice low and unhappy, “Ming Rang, I’ve said many times, don’t hang your clothes on my chair.”
Lin Ye was stunned, his hand that was on the doorknob stopped moving. When his sight fell on the figure outside the door through the frosted glass, all of his previous leisurely feelings disappeared.
What replaced them was the sound of his heart beating like a drum.
He was in a daze for a moment, feeling slightly surprised. However, he soon calmed down and his five fingers that had been holding onto the doorknob slowly tightened and he suddenly pulled open the door in front of him.
The heat from the shower rushed out, and there was the scent of a familiar shampoo and shower gel.
Lin Ye stood in the bathroom, his short hair wet. It was as if his pupils and eyelashes were also wet.
Jiang Lian was stunned.
He had not looked for someone for a long time. Although he thought that, Jiang Lian narrowed his eyes slightly and looked at the person in front of him, “You used my shampoo and shower gel?”
